Indeed, it doesn't interupt most actions unless you do it at a decent speed (you'll have to wait about 2 seconds/until the animation is finished). You can mine, fish and cut wood while alching items slowly. Superheat works in a similar matter, which is why people can superheat while and mine/smelt gold at the same time. ;)

Alcing indeed won't interrupt the fishing, however it must be done quite slowly. If you use this method at your fishing level you'll fish slightly faster than you alc, so slowly alc fish until your inventory is full, drop a bunch and repeat.

He must be jealous of them because they're higher level than he is. Actually, at the fishing spot location for example, you can tell because before they released free trade that spot was always empty. No-one in their right mind would train there, which in turn makes it a good place to bot since no actual player would be there to report you. As for the topic of this thread: that is exactly why I was against the return of wilderness/free trade update. <_<

I believe people write/add to guides to help the general public/community. So with that in mind, what would you think is right in the following cases? Scenario 1: A user gives a tip for something to be added to a guide, or points out a mistake. A Crewbie corrects/adds this and credits the user. The user now believes this information should be removed. With regard to effort (depending on which page/guide/database) this would take little time. Should the said page be rolled back, and why? Scenario 2: Let's, for the sake of argument, take myself as an example. I was a regular poster of corrections in the Website Updates & Corrections forum, and at some point got invited to join the Website Crew. Since my intentions always were to help people out when I posted the corrections, I gladly accepted as it would enable me to be of more meaning to the community (and those that use the main site). Isn't that about the same reasoning that motivates anyone else to write a guide in the AoW? Anyway, while on the Crew I noticed a severely outdated guide and give it a huge make-over. This guide, which was originally written by two others, now contains very little of the information from when it was originally created. Instead its content, subsections, screenshots and whatnot got shuffled, updated and removed as I saw fit. In addition I put several new subsections in it. Other Crew made smaller changes and corrections to it at times, but in this particular case the vast majority of the guide is "mine." With the notion of "what's been produced by person x belongs to person x" in mind, (ethically speaking) to whom does this guide belong? Is it mine now? Did I commit "information theft" on the two original authors when I based the new guide on their layout and basic information? .. So what if I got into a huge argument with another Crewbie or Admin and decided to leave the Crew. Is it justified if I demand that the guide is rolled back to before I first changed it? Should the guide be rolled back, and why? You speak of ethics but appear to be suggesting that it's morally acceptable to give a (random) poster more rights than a Crewbie. How are we different in our intentions than a poster that writes a guide, and why does that justify denying us the right that you believe the poster should have? For the record: I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you. I'm just curious what you feel is right in this case.

Although I am not an expert on woman's opinions on that in the middle east I do know that in (for example) Saudi Arabia it has been law for women to wear burqa's for many years. If they wouldn't properly cover themselves, the religious police known as the Mutaween. They are known to use a lot of violence and women are in danger of being imprisoned, beaten, flogged, or even beheaded. In a country like that fear makes women want to wear it if religious motives don't. The same goes for regions in Pakistan and Afghanistan that are ruled by the Taliban (with regard to the burqa). To compare this with other Islamic countries, the Supreme Court of Malaysia prohibited public servants from covering their faces in 1994. Having been to Malaysia myself (although this is South East Asia) I noticed the vast majority of women wear the hijab, and I'd estimate less than 5% of the women I saw wore a niqab or burqa. Considering that, is banning it truly ensuring these women cannot excercise their faith?

Interesting idea, however disallowing them to have a passport would technically make them illegal, which could pose a problem. In Europe every adult has the "duty" to identify him or herself when asked to by the authorities. Should an exception be made here? Let me play the devil's advocate by asking you this: what about their impact on others? If you had a teacher or classmate that wore a niqab or burqa, how would you respond to them when you cannot see their face? And how would that impact her in turn?

If we manage to listen to that whole thing, do we get paid? And Jafjeh, I think he knows. I figured the as much, but now he no longer has an excuse to pretend he's innocent. ;)

I had thought of that, but would a pic really prove it? Anyone could fake such a drop by cutting the logs themselves, note it, and post a pic of it, claiming a drop like myself. Not likely, but not really "proof", if you know what I mean. I guess it would be better if multiple players had experienced the same drop, making it more believeable. Perhaps if it was reported "x" amount of times, it would not need to be in italics any longer? Something to think about. Indeed. ;) There appear to be many variables in the ROW drops, so especially in this case, user input is (as always) very valuable. That said, I don't think many would go out of their way to fake such screenshots, but you raise a valid point when the drops are noted.

I rarely post threads, but I've seen some interesting discussion on this topic and am curious what people here think. Recently the law France passed in September of last year, banning the wearing of (a.o. Islamic) face-covering clothing in public places, took effect. This means that women who wear these robes and cover their faces would be taken to police stations for a so-called "identity check" and can be fined up to € 150,- (around $ 215,-) or be sentenced "civilianship classes" that are to be followed. The law bans two specific pieces of clothing, the burqa and the niqab. Hijabs and headscarves are allowed as they do not cover the person's face. Some of the reasons given for the ban were that those robes are a symbol of women's oppression and are a danger to general public safety (with terrorism and whatnot in mind). Others argue that governments do not have the right to meddle with religious expression, as it violates the people's rights and is undemocratic. Does it go too far or not far enough? Is such a ban justified, necessary or undemocratic? Or something else entirely?
