  1. It's not uncommon to only get 5 herbs/seed (even with supercompost and magic secataurs). It's not unheard of to lose a batch of herbs to disease. It's not always possible to get 7K each per herb (although it's getting easier and easier these days, it seems). But, aside from those qualifiers, Rannars are quite good.
  2. From what I recall, it is very early on in the quest that you get access.
  3. Luring and any kind of scamming is not in Jagex's best interest. About 2-3 years ago I discovered Runescape, played a little, completely naive and in general a good person. At that point, I had no idea that RS was populated in large part by scamming and deceitful little sociopaths. I worked for quite some time building myself up to certain level, building up my skills, accumulating gp by mining, smithg, fishing, etc., and selling to the general store. I eventually could afford full black, and bought it. It was many, many hours worth of work. I have no doubt that there are/were thousands like I was then. I one day went to Varrock, and someone of a higher level than me said "let's go kill monster in the Wilderness, you get much better drops." I said sure, and followed him out there. I clicked through the warnings, and was very nervous. I knew what I was doing and knew I was taking a risk. We got deep enough into the wilderness without seeing any monsters that I figured something was wrong, and turned to run. Just as he began maging me. I died quickly, and suddenly appeared in Lumby with a only few pieces of my armor left. I actually had no idea that you lost all your items when you died. I was disheartened, logged out, and that was the end of me and Runescape. All my effort A year or two afterwards I went looking for a similar game to Runescape (actually, similar to Warcraft), but being unable to find anything that I couldn't sample for free online LIKE Runescape, I decided to give it another try. This time, cynical and untrusting, I stuck it out. But basically, Runescape lost me as a customer for a long, long time because of a lurer. Sure, I "should have known better", and I was very, very nervous, knowing I was taking a risk. Some responsibility lies with me for not being cynical and untrusting when I first started playing. But is that what you need? A community of the cynical and untrusting, facing off with scamming and luring sociopaths? God, the more I think about that above statement, I'm wonder why I play Runescape :-k
  4. Check out the link in my signature, and Decide for yourself.
  5. Theorhetically speaking, there's a new ticket every 1 minute (I could be wrong here, but I think it's 1 minute). So, in theory, 1,000 minutes. But you're not going to get them all. So figure 1,500 minutes. 25 hours.
  6. Power amulet is better. No need to raise your defense any higher. I would work on strength exclusively from now on. Once you get that to 99, start on attack. High strength owns high attack. In theory it shouldn't matter, but in reality, it does.
  7. I have a F2P mager/ranger, and until level 33, I would weaken, curse and confuse cows, and then use my best "Strike" spell available to take their hides to sell. Eventually, when I hit level 33, I had a few hundred cowhides, which I then tanned and sold. With that money, I bought a hundred or so laws. From 33 on, I've been tele-grabbing Wine of Zamorak at the Choas temple west of the Goblin Village. I then sell those wines for 1-1.5K each when I run out of laws. Buy more laws, repeat. That will fund any future mage training I need to do in the fututre.
  8. I went from 53-56 at the wall safes in the rogues den (got 100s of uncuts in the process), and after that, I've spent 2-3 hours in the Sorceress's Garden, and have made it to 61. Never tried Pyramid Plunder, but I see no reason to leave the Sorceress's Garden. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. It takes about 30-60 minutes to really get a hang of the Sorceress's Garden, but once you do... In the autumn Garden 41-61 I can get about 45K xp hour when I'm in a good groove.
  9. I've made quite a bit of money smelting cannonballs. I've never had trouble selling them. You can get steel for 600, and end up selling them for 740-800 ( 4 x 185-200 ). At Port Phasmatys, I can smelt 500 bars /hour into cannonballs. 500 x 140-200 = 70K-100K/hour profit. I have better ways to make money now, but I liked being able to "Smelt X" and go check on forums. That way, I'd smith like 3-4K bars at a time, and had loads of time to check forums for buyers. Anytime there was someone buying for 190+, I'd sell whatever I'd smelted to that point. Or if some steel seller wandered in selling for 550 or so. I did it recently, smelting 1K steel bars into balls, and sold for an average of 190 or so. EDIT: it was much better money when I was getting steel for 530, and selling it for a profit of 270 each. Rising steel prices have definitely made this less attractive than it once was. Chinchompas have also decreased the demand. But it's still not bad money.
  10. The official list from Jagex of Holiday Drops is here Just have to figure out when the disks of returning were no longer for sale, and when Jagex discontinued 1/2 wines.
  11. Rares are coveted because there are limited numbers of the item, and there is no conceivable way to get more. A 1/2 jug of wine meets that criteria, and seems to be just about as useful as a pile of flour. What's more, I highly doubt there are as many piles of flour out there. Who the heck would have any? If Jagex realizes this about the flour though, my guess is that it will become untradeable, if it already isn't. Jagex doesn't want no more rares.
  12. Sorry. Saw the agility and theiving levels. Maybe try something in the stronghold of security like Minotaurs. They drop iron arrows which make things quite easy range-wise.
  13. Enough arrows? Yes White Knights as good range training? No... White Knights wear plate armor. Plate Armor > Range. You might want to consider a different training target, such as: Ogres Chaos Druids (for herb drops) Rock crabs
  14. 1K nats = 300-320 1K longs = 560 you lose about 100 gp/cast, but that's still far less than the cost of a chaos or death.
  15. Although I'm a slightly higher level than you, I go after blue dragons and only need an inventory of Tuna. You should be able to go after blues with an inventory of 1/2 tuna, 1/2 lobsters. Blue hides go for a lot more than green, and are well worth a few lobbies. And no PKers to worry about.
  16. Buy yew longs and cast High Alchemy. Or Cast your highest level attack spell at Lesser Demons or armor wearing foes (both are very weak against mage attacks).
  17. Servil is not a place on a map. Servil is the name of the lady who sent you on the quest, and the man you've been sent to free. In the context you're referring to, they're saying "go east of Lady Servil's location".
  18. Since I'm an American, I'll have to ask: who the heck is Richard O'Brian? That name isn't ringing any bells for me. Figure he's somebody from the UK or something.
  19. Not that everything the aul lout says is gospel, but according to Axe Man Jack's Slayer Guide: The other advice given is good too. The views presented are generally the best way to go about it. That being said, I've had that same slayer assignment for about 3 weeks now. Just can't bring myself to do it :(
  20. You can take a boat from Port Sarim to Karamja. 30 gp (not the charter boat). You can then cross Karamja to the town of Brimhaven. North of Brimhave is another ship. 30 gp more. At that point you're in East Ardougne. The only thing between you and the Gnome Agility course, at that point, is walking. You might also want to peruse Tip.it's Getting Around guide.
  21. From a practical perspective, full Guthans (~10 Mill) and full Veracs (~5 Mill) opens up a lot of options like DKing and KQing. Full Ahrims makes your Ice Bursts and Barrages more effective. For Range, full Blessed Dragonhide of your deity of choice (~850K for Guthix up to ~1.7 Zammy).
  22. Fremennik TRIALS for the Archer helm. There are many, many advantages to having done Fremennik Trials, so I'd advise that you do it. But if you don't, you can always go to Barbarian Assault and get the Penance Ranger hat. Somewhat goofier in appearance, it has the same stats as the Fremennik Archer helm.
  23. You need to go more than once. Try to get a better hang of it. Go to the highest garden you can, and try to get a handle on the pattern that the guards are in. Once you get figure the pattern out, and know when to run, and where to run to, the XP comes very quickly. IT takes a little while to figure it out, but once you do... Patience is the key. Watch others who are successful, and watch where they run to, and when they run to it. It'll pay off in spades if you can stand to figure it out.
  24. I like to use the old Dragon Battle Axe special, drink a restore (not super) potion, then drink a super-attack potion. You can get significantly more hits and XP /game doing that.
  25. Totally worth it. Over the long term, it is without question worth it.
