Runescape and real world history?
The Ardoyne (Ardougne) is a part of Belfast, Northern Ireland. And Tirannwn and Prifddinas stike me as quite Welsh, even if they're not real place-names.

Strange behavior of economy?
Not directly. But Jagex could release an update that makes the creation of wealth much easier. That would, as a side-effect, increase the desirability of rares, as folks have more cash. Imagine (for illustrative purposes) an easy to kill monster, in great numbers, that has drops a hide that you can alch for 10K gp. Or, Jagex just doesn't release any resource-consuming updates. That's just as good as a wealth-creating update.

I went in there, set it off, and ran out like a scared jack-rabbit.

Strange behavior of economy?
There is no way to say with any degree of certainty how the prices of rares will behave. There is a certain amount of logic that says: as more people play runescape, and the number of rares stays constant/decreases (as cheaters are caught with rares still in inventory), the price of rares will rise. Runescapers, after all, add wealth to the Runescape economy. The more players, the longer they play, the more wealth those players add. However, one never knows what update Jagex will release that may impact the price of rares. Skillcapes and more treasure trail items, for instance, have decreased the desirability of rares. Now chinchompas have been found to get a person uber fast and easy range XP, causing many to sell a Santa Hat or Mask to get them to 99 quickly. Who knows if a bunch of third age weaponry will be released three months down the road. Rares will always be in the game, but updates will cause their prices to ebb and flow over time. There are far too many variables for anyone to say with any degree of certainty if we are at the midpoint of a decline/correction, or if we've finally reached the bottom. What's more, Jagex might release something next month that will cause the demand for rares to increase or decrease. All they need to do is release another cash-consuming skill or minigame, and boom.

Economics anyone?
Skill capes were released. Rares like Party Hats, Santas, Masks, etc. are being sold to purchase resources. This has been driving down the price of rares, but driving up the price of resources. What's more, high level players are now skilling for 99, and not killing the Kalphite Queen or other monsters that drop dragon items. Ergo, prices are not dropping on those items because the supply is not increasing with the demand. High level wants fletching cape, sells santa to buy yews at above-market pries. Yew cutters have more money, want d-legs. High level too busy fletching to get more d-legs into the market, so the price of existing d-legs go up to meet demand.

Strange behavior of economy?
Rares most recently peaked in late September/early October (Santas were 29 million, Christmas crackers hit 1 billion, etc.). The trend changed with the October 18th release of skill capes. Since then, prices have been steadily dropping as folks have been selling rares to get resources for 99 in as many skills as they can afford. I would expect their value to keep dropping slowly for some time to come. Slowly but surely. If folks tire of this extended drop in prices, there could very well be a "crash" as people are finally abused of the notion that "rares always rise".

World switcher: legal?
You do not gain any "unfair advantage" so you will not be banned for using it. However, Jagex does not recommend using it, or any other third party client, for your own security's sake.

World switcher: legal?
We eagerly await one of your future posts, titled: "ZOMG, I Got Hacked!!! HOW?!?!?!"

Green Dragon Autoers massive banning?
I'd bet dollars-to-donuts that you've hit the nail on the head. That said, the "dollars-to-donuts" wager is really no longer a dramatic one, as donut prices I'm sure are approaching a dollar in most places.

I am a little confused about something.......
Lots of brother/sister/father/mother combinations play Runescape together on multiple PCs in the same house, using the same IP address, but using a router. Also, users of most dial-up services like AOL and earthlink have a only few IP addresses for thousands of users in a local area. So using the same IP address can't, and shouldn't, be used to ban folks.

combat merchanting
Is there really a brisk market for white knight armor? I know that some folks will, on occasion, purchase it for a bit more than what you buy it from Sir Tiffy for, but I don't think it's enough to make a job out of. Killing dragons for their bones and hides are generally still very lucrative as far as making money while training combat.

Wall safes?
I've never done any kind of official study using the stethoscope, but at levels 54-56 I noticed a dramatic difference. It may become less useful as you become a better and better thief, but it has been very useful for me. That being said, it's more of a hassle to "Use" the stethoscope with the wall safe than it is to simply click on the safe. I'm looking forward to when I can just click on it :D

Farming growth times
If you don't use supercompost and enchanted secataurs when you plant, all growing times listed on the tip.it guide are out the window.

Hunter: Chinchompas
I think he's saying the number of chinchompas/hour you can catch is not as high as 2K+. I don't think he was disputing the price.
-
Hunter: Chinchompas
I'd heard that with 4 traps you could catch 300-350 red chinchompas per hour. At least that's what I'd heard. At 800 each, thats still awesome.

High Level Herb Seed Drops
What creature drops the greatest number of Herb seeds, Rannar and above? I know Hill and Moss Giants, as well as Ogres, are pretty good, but I was wondering if there was anything better. Being near a bank is also a nice touch :D. Right now I'm figuring Orgres with a Ring of Dueling in the inventory would be best.

Hunter Skill Sooooooooooooooo Confused
http://tip.it/runescape/?page=hunting_guide.htm http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=612691 http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=614868 They're a good start. There are many different methods to hunting, and you're really best trying 'em all to find the ones you like. Some can click-click-click for hours at a time, others can't.

99 Range from Red Chinchompas
Chinchompas cost 600-900 these days. You can get 100-200 xp per chinchompa depending upon your level, and where you use them. So for 10 million range xp, you could use anywhere from 50-100K of 'em (30-90 million gps).

ROFL. You know what, you're probably right. Jagex designed and updated the game expressly to avoid drawing huge crowds. I mean, we wouldn't want a large number of people to actually enjoy the mini-game, would we? You should apply to work at Jagex. With your keen eye for pleasing the customer and keeping players entertained, you're just what we need to ensure a future filled with failed mini-games.

14 February 2007 - Minigame updates
Actually, according to Mod Paul on the RSOF: They changed the low-end rewards to be a bit better. And, from my experience, they still appear to be junk (albeit a better class of junk), and not really worth the hour or so you need to get 500 points. Odds of getting high-end rewards have not changed. You still have next-to-no chance of getting a D-Chain after 500 points.

Nardah, without question. There's a clay oven right there.

14 February 2007 - Minigame updates
Took like 4 hours to finish 3 games of Barbarian Assault today, even though it was packed. Big Gamble results: 117 Uncooked Swords (30K) 12 Dragon Bones (18K) 1 Rune 2-Hander (50K) Bye-bye, BA. Just different junk. If I'm blowing 4 hours on something when I could be getting XP instead, it really has to be worth it or be so insanely fun I don't mind wasting my time. BA ain't neither. Why can't they just do it right?
