  1. Any time I log off and check within thirty or forty-five seconds, it's usually updated. :? (Haven't checked - past experiences.) Anyway, the hiscores are probably just a little laggy - I'm pretty sure that the game would not shut down because the hiscores weren't working. The game is probably running fine, the displaying and transferring of the hiscore data is probably unusually slow or messed up. ~Rcty
  2. Glad to see you're back! The funny thing is, you had more luck in about six hours drop-wise than a typical RuneScape player has in about two weeks... ~Rcty
  3. I really don't get how they let this happen - You would think that they would check all ads and have them in a secluded, un-accessable location. Also, they spelled "encripted" wrong, it should be "encrypted". (Already mentioned, I know.) I can guarantee you that no legit virus scanner would do that, or really make scans from an Internet webpage. You typically have to install a program. ~Rcty
  4. This might be classified as cheating, but... On MythBusters, Jamie (what a smart guy) hollowed out an orange and cut it in half. He then placed the egg between the edges and taped it shut. Next, get 39 1/2 inches of string (in length), and lower it down to the ground, dropping it when there's about 1/2 a foot left. However, he also put an extra covering around the egg. It worked, too. Anyway, I just put foam and paper and cottonballs in a shoebox, taped it and taped it and taped it, and let 'er drop. (In the fifth grade.) ~Rcty
  5. Before the Grand Exchange, all of the effort was your responsibility - find a price, find a buyer, sit there and wait for a buyer, etc. However, with the introduction of the Grand Exchange, you can put up an item and (in virtually seconds from a whole different server) sell the item anonymously. Yes, I do believe that a lot more items, not just smithing, will begin to develop their own market because suddenly people are having time to sell them (or at least get the Grand Exchange to). ~Rcty
  6. 1. In your opinion, what is truth? Truth is a factual statement or idea. 2. Do you believe in God or Allah or Buddha or any other deity or higher force, power, or being? Yes, God. 3. Can you give any reasons for why you believe/disbelieve in the above? I am faithful in my beliefs, and I believe that everything that happened involving the creation of mankind could not have been the results of an "accident". 4. How would you describe this being etc(the answer to number 2)? (If "yes to 3") Perfect, almighty, forever powerful, forever intelligent, amazing, unbelievable, indescribable. ~Rcty
  7. I personally think Jagex is attempting to "bribe" players. (May not be the right word.) In the November Behind the Scenes, Jagex stated that they were going to let hints about the "very large update" trickle out over the next few weeks. With no hints in the past few weeks, and a development diary about it this week, something doesn't seem right. Letting hints trickle out over periods of time is not the equivalent of bluntly stating "Summoning is the 'big update' we mentioned in the November Behind the Scenes." The reason? In my opinion, they're 'brainwashing' players. They really backed themselves into a corner with the whole 5K maximum stake Duel Arena update, and to cover that up, they said they were releasing Summoning, which many players want. This is all just my point of view. ~Rcty
  8. Nope, they wouldn't be my friend if I didn't trust them. :) ~Rcty
  9. Yes, it is quite clear that a majority of the RuneScape population believes MechScape is coming out, however, we can't stop there! Players are going to great lengths and speculations just to find out the tiniest detail about it. This particular topic was about a billing option for MechScape - such as will it be F2P and P2P. ~Rcty
  10. Actually, that extra space is just there because of the extra typing it had to have for F2P members. Unless they just recently changed it? ~Rcty
  11. I would honestly recommend a MacBook or MacBook Pro. Configuration within them is possible, external hard drives (that are easily portable) can be purchased, up to 500 GB (most I've seen). Also, Mac OS X Leopard (recently released OS) is the most advanced operating system out there yet, and Macs are extremely safe while playing RuneScape. The external hard drive could work for "Time Machine" (unbelievably advanced data backup). The official documentation about it can be found on the Apple website. ~Rcty
  12. The new Skill Interface popups will take awhile for me to get used to, I'm used to it being compact and now it's s p r e a d o u t. (But that's just me. :P ) I'll have to wait to do the quest until after school. :( Jagex always releases them Monday mornings for me. ~Rcty
  13. I got that popup the other day and it freaked me out. I ran both of my Spyware and Virus programs to try and clean my computer, but I don't think they found anything. It was pretty obvious that it was a scam, but I wondered why my browser went to it because I was sure that Jagex controlled all of their advertisements. The window did the best it could to make it look like your real PC window, but mistakes (such as a pop-up bubble in the lower right corner resembling the Windows' toolbar) were easy to notice. Be careful, and do not click on the picture of the popup boxes! ~Rcty
  14. It's most likely one of those dumb MSN viruses that are spreading around everywhere. Like adam_ross0 said, just be careful. Also, isn't Facebook a website (or it may be a program, I don't use it). So, logically, if it was a webiste, it probably wouldn't be a file, more like a link. (That is assuming it's a website.) ~Rcty
  15. As Kiara said, first type it up a Word Processor that has spell check. To preview your guide periodically, click the "New Topic" button, put your guide in the post box, but put nothing in the title. That way, you can preview it, and in case you accidentally hit "Submit", it won't post the topic because it doesn't have a title. :D ~Rcty
  16. My advice, also, is to switch to Gmail. If you have a Mac ( :D ), then it can hook up to Apple's amazing "Mail" program and you don't even get spam emails (at least I don't). ~Rcty
  17. Last year we were out of school for an entire week due to snow. The state declared it a natural disaster area - and it really was a bad site in a widespread area. The main reason was that it snowed/iced, and then it rained. I picked up a blade of grass and it was encased in ice that formed to every blade. ~Rcty
  18. Man, I would really like to see that. Too bad I'm in school during that time. ~Rcty
  19. Ever since i began playing runescape, i've had to deal with my parents wanting me to quit. They hate the idea of me playing an mmorpg, and i have had to play behind their backs the entire 3 years that i played (and no i wasn't happy about this). I don't actually hate my parents, it just frustrates me how they have completed taken the game from me, and i feel at my age i should be able to make these decisions... Then (as I stated originally) talk to them about it. If you're sixteen you probably know how to stay out of trouble on games like RuneScape. Say that you think you've deserved the right to be able to make the decision on whether to play or not. But don't be forceful and start accusing them of being mean or anything - they probably just want to protect you. ~Rcty
  20. You would almost think that a 16 year old would have learned to respect their parents by now. Also, have you actually tried talking to them about unblocking it? Between the main post and your post claiming that your parents are evil (which is very disrespectful, I might add), there was an elapsed time of eight minutes. And between the suggestion of talking to your parents and the post stating that your parents are evil, there was an elapsed time of three minutes - Hardly enough time to have an actual productive conversation. Try talking to them about it. (Say more that "Will you unblock RuneScape?" Give details of why they should.) ~Rcty

    Jagex is too punny.

The puns are only as bad as you make them. Read them and don't laugh - you're making a mountain out of an anthill. Personally, I don't like to read chat boxes during quests :-$, so I don't typically read them. However, if I did, I would just read them and keep a static expression on my face... ~Rcty
  22. I say keep the word censor the same and keep adding onto it. I'm not one for profanity and do not appreciate it when others are. Considering that the RuneScape players have managed to find ways to avoid the censor on about every single word there is, I think we don't deserve to have that freedom - we abused it. ~Rcty
  23. Hmmm...I could see how you think that, but personally, I don't think they are. Notice that the things that you mentioned (Clan Chat, Grand Exchange) are actually things that users begged, and begged, and begged more, and still kept begging, and were disappionted in any Behind the Scenes that didn't have it in there, and then begged even more for? It wasn't a matter of Jagex trying to rid fansites, it was a matter of fulfilling what players wanted. ~Rcty
  24. I am 99.99% sure that Tip.It Administration would never allow this to happen, for the following reasons: A. Although Tip.It Administration could say that they're not involved in the Secret Santa, it would still happen on Forum.Tip.It, which makes it their responsibility to stop it. B. Transmitting personal information (especially your address) is against the forum rules. C. (About you.) I don't know about you, but I would NOT want to be in charge of tracking peoples' personal information like that - if something were to happen, you and Tip.It Administration would be in trouble. It would be neat, but impractical. ~Rcty
  25. According to their navigation panel, they can host blogs, photos, files, and videos. ~Rcty
