  1. How can you make assumptions like that? That's one of the most stupid things I've ever heard! It's like saying, someone doesn't eat cheese because they don't like the taste because they just want attention. Wdf? Seriously, that's competely idiotic. I personally can't stand the taste of meat, it just doesn't interest me. And as for 'what's the point in wasting a natural part of our body - the ability to eat meat' we don't have to use everything evolution has given us. Many people even nowadays practise chatisty (sp?), because they think it's wrong. It could be said they too are wasting a natural part of their body, but in reality it is a choice they choose to make.
  2. To bring up another point I will yet again say I am not forcing my opinions down anyone's throat so please take this as food for thought and not as fact *coughs at certain person* as far as we know, plants can't feel pain or emotion. Or maybe I'm wrong about that?
  3. I hate Chelsea. Money, money, money, MONEY!
  4. No no.. Let him name it that. I want to see how much they settle the lawsuit for :-w  Lol yeah :D And anyway... you can't exactly get something released if you use a game-maker which does everything for you. Sorry pomar. What I mean is... don't give up!
  5. You can't name it Kingdom Hearts. Copyright pl0x?
  6. That is a GORGEOUS dog. I want to steal him. I love Labs. Keep the lab pictures coming. He's just accomplished ripping through the screen door and destroying the TV remote. He's adorable lol, he's soooo cute! I remember my golden retriever, Tess, playfully and innocently chewing the handles off the chest of drawers in our kitchen when she moved in. Well she was only a few months old... still it does make it very hard to open them! :)
  7. Lord-kain1 - Please read my first post. I mentioned there that there's a huuuge difference between 'will u b my gf' and 'looking 4 gf!'
  8. Ok, good to know your not a psycho. : Lol. Um....*looks worried and fakes a smile* No I'm joking.
  9. So your saying the human race dying off is beneficial? care to explain your reasoning behind that? So its morally wrong to eat meat according to you because you want the human race to cease to exist, which is morally ok according to you? Definitely not! I just meant that on a whole, if the human race had died out quicker there would probably be less problems in the world today. Also, the reason I don't eat meat is definitely not because I want the human race to die out quicker. I was just making a slightly off-topic point.
  10. I think you are wrong. How does not eating meat make us a better race? Or, how does eating meat makes us a worse race?.. explain. We would have died out quicker... but anyway, that's off topic.
  11. I am not being stuck-up. I'm just putting forward my points as this is something called a debate. You know what that means? Fair enough, I did say I think it's wrong to eat meat. And anyway, this planet would probably be better off if we had 'stopped and went ''wait this is morally wrong'' all those years ago' as you put it. I'm not forcing my opinion down your throat, you're being completely unreasonable. We're having a discussion and if you can't deal with that you better leave. Edit - I couldn't care less whether you like me or not. Edit by Anesthesia: there's no need to nest so many quotes. It's just a waste of space.
  12. Interestingly, intentionally misquoting someone is in contravention of part 1.5 of the forum rules. So don't do it again. Sorry about that. No, I looked at the paragraph, those few words caught my eye, I didn't bother reading the rest and quoted it. But it was not intentional. My mistake. I can't comprehend that logic. I could further extend it to say, eating is natural - but just because eating is natural, it doesn't mean it's right ... So we shouldn't eat? Or going to toilet - just because it's natural, doesn't mean it's right - so we shouldn't go to the toilet? They're natural processes, without them, we couldn't survive. However, you might then draw the point that we can survive without eating meat. To which I would reply: true. But saying eating meat isn't right is analagous to saying that living isn't right - because living's a natural part of our process. Think about it for a second. I respect all vegetarians, vegans and carnivores alike, and I guess what it boils down then is your personal morals - which are inherently subjective rather than objective. What makes something natural? Since I was raised a vegetarian does that make eating meat not natural for me? I survive without meat so that makes eating meat not a natural process. I didn't say eating meat was natural, nor did I say it wasn't. I said the demarcation of nature as right or wrong is a bit of a useless venture. Re-read what I said. What do you mean "what defines something as natural"? I thought it was a given that releasing your excrements and consuming food is a natural process of our life - or are you debating that point? Because those were my examples. It may not be natural for the individual to eat meat, and I'll argue against my own points here. But it doesn't change the fact that we are 'instinctive' (probably not the right word) towards meat, which suggests we would survive better with it than without it. However, several million or whatever many years ago, meat would have been our main source of food. You couldn't have been a vegetarian, because there would be no protein alternatives, such as milk and cheese. I'm not sure about nuts though. So, we had to survive by eating meat, maybe a few plants. It was the way we had to live, and I don't see how it makes it right nowadays, when you can be a totally healthy person without eating meat.
  13. How many times do I have to say it... you do not need meat to be a healthy person! I think I posted more details on page 12.
  14. That's not true. It's supply and demand, like in every other industry. How do boycotts work? Each individual person is making a difference. Yes, nicely put Astra. =D> And everything Mad just said was completely true. Also, as a young person who lives with her family, for me to become a vegetarian hugely affects my family. My dad tries to eat meat whenever possible but my mum is now really into veggie dishes! Which is great, because she now buys less and less and less meat, as I eat none and she eats very little. Let's say it's roughly the same for, I dunno, 750 families in London. (and even that's an underestimate) It would make a huge difference! The meat market would sell less meat, resulting in less animals being bred for the purpose of slaughter. Not really. There is plenty of things other than meat that the extra animals would be used for. But if the demand of animal-made products wasn't raised...
  15. First, what makes you think that morality can be applied to non-human animals? Second, if you can prove that holding animals morally responsible makes sense, can you prove that the animals being hunted are actually innocent? Firstly, I'm not saying it can. But surely even physical pain is extensive suffering? And if an animal suffers for the rights of human entertainment... really fair? Secondly, Well, ok. Not innocent. I would never go as far as to say they're anywhere near the human level of intelligence and therefore do not have a sense of morals. But still, what kind of wrong could a rabbit, or a duck do? Innocent until proven guilty, I say.
  16. Huh? Like a horse or an atv? We of course have to drive there, then its a few miles hike to wherever we're going to hunt. Why does it matter? It matters because it would affect your shot. And the '2nd or 3rd shot' isn't good enough. It does not justify the taking of an innocent life, I'm sorry but that's just what I think.

  18. People I admire. Now this is a tricky question. I admire Tim Henman. Why? Because he never gives up. Well ok he probably does, but he has this reputation as the loser of English tennis. But at least he keeps trying. I also admire my mum, because she's such an amazing person. I s'pose I can't really describe her any more than that, I wouldn't know where to start. Also I have to mention a Tipiter don't I, lol. Necromagus and FuBai, purely because of their awesome writing skills. Can't think of anyone else. But it's not like I'd base myself on those people or anything, they're just people I admire and look up to.
  19. dosent mean its wrong either.... Exactly, which is why we strive to find the Truth.
  20. Yes, I do. Because i'm talking from experience. You see, I know what i'm talking about. Depending on the positing of the animal a headshot can be somewhat easy, and even if you go for the center of mass, a quick second or third bullet will usually do it. And noone hunts big game with dogs, those are usually for fetching duck and fowl, which most definatly die quickly. Do you ride while hunting, or go on foot?
  21. And if you get to the body of what you shot and it's not dead, you finish it off quick. No reason to let it suffer any longer. I think I would enjoy hunting and my cousin said I could go with him next year, but I still have consideration for the feelings of other things (which is why I'm not going to shoot something in the leg and purposely chase it for hours). You really think it's that easy to give the animal a quick death? Well you'd have to be a master shooter to hit the head first try. And with dogs too... :|
  22. Casino Royale, and the one with that guy who had the gold tooth.
  23. No, because tearing an animal apart bit by bit by crazed dogs, dangling it in the air for a minute or two and then shooting it is quickly as possible. Have you ever thought how much pain the animal would be going through? It would be completely unbearable. Which is probably a most terrifying experience. Like a bit of entertainment, or a slab of meat. Great!
