Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince [REVIEW]
I was pleased with it all until the end...2:10 of awesomeness, followed by 20 mins of suck. The lack of battle between DA/Phoenix members and Deatheaters was extremely disappointing. Why did Draco even bring the Deatheaters to Hogwarts then? Also, not having them place the dark mark above astronomy tower to draw Dumbledore made no sense...how did Draco know to go up there otherwise? I pretty much felt unmoved by Dumbledore's death. I think the funeral scene would have been worth including.

Rise Against
I also like the first 3 albums the best...it's kind of a toss up, but I think I might like Revolutions per Minute best. I also have the Transistor Revolt demo...I think only one of the songs didn't make it onto Unraveling. The re-record of Unraveling at Blasting Room is definitely better than the original recording. Be sure to check out 88 Fingers Louie also...former band of a couple of them.

Post your favorite Classic Television Shows...
I'm surprised that at least 1/2 your (op) list is actually classic tv, I expected this would be more about semi-recent shows. These are the show that I watched a lot of reruns of as a kid: Dragnet, Lone Ranger, Twilight Zone, Gilligan's Island, Brady Bunch, Chips, Happy Days, Three's Company. And these are the 80's shows I watched when they we on: A-Team, Riptide, Greatest American Hero, Simon and Simon, Cheers, Night Court, 21 Jump Street, The Wonder Years, Fall Guy, Battlestar Galacitca, Magnum PI, Quantum Leap, Tour of Duty.

Alt Country
darn good stuff...thanks! I've really been into alt-country and cow punk bands recently. I'd have to say my favorite is Lucero, but here's some of the others I listen to: Drag the River, Mike Ness, Two Cow Garage, Drive-by Truckers, Uncle Tupelo, Son Volt, Wilco, Magnolia Electric Co., Slobberbone, The Haints, Old '97s, Doublewide, Armchair Martian.

Punk!
Sorry for my late response to this :) I'm a fan of all punk music genres pop to hardcore and everything in between (tho I like some better than others and my tastes often change over the years). I've got about 300 bands on my hard drive, but I won't list them all unless someone really wants to branch out and check out some new stuff. I don't think this conversation would be complete without mentioning a few more bands that are imo legends: Good Riddance, Social Distortion, Descendents, Minor Threat, Misfits, Bad Brains, Black Flag. Some additional of my favs: Strike Anywhere, Bigwig, Thought Riot, Against Me!

Faces of Death
I remember watching one about 20 years ago (not sure if I watched the original or a sequel). Frankly, the images were pretty disturbing. The ones I remember are: a girl getting hit by the prop of a boat, several of people falling from buildings, a guy who had a car he was working on fall off the jack and onto his leg, and some people cutting open monkey heads (while they were still alive) and eating their brains. I think a lot of it was re-enactments and not real footage, but I'm sure some of it was real.

Favorite Movie Scores?
I always enjoy Danny Elfman scores...Edward Scissorhands being my favorite.

Warped tour 2009
That actually looks like one of the best lineups in years...less screamo, more old-school. That said, I haven't been to one in over 10 years and doubt I will this one either.

Post your entire band list here!
Are you guys typing these in by hand? DOS ftw: dir /ad /b > bands.txt (assuming you organized bands into their own folders)

What movie(s) did you last see?
Thanks...I'll definitely add Firefly to the queue. I own Rome and really enjoyed it...also Carnivale which was pretty good. Also have entire Six Feet Under (tho my wife was into it more than I). Another I've been thinking of is Deadwood...heard it was good, anyone recommend it?

What movie(s) did you last see?
I've been catching up on TV shows recently through netflix, etc. I don't have any of the premium channels and prefer to not watch many shows in a week-to-week format (I'd rather wait to watch all at once or at least a season at a time). Here's what I've seen recently: Dexter (seasons 1&2) - Such a beautiful show...the intro alone is extermely effective Californication (season 1) - This really grew on me each episode...absolutely hilarious at times Jericho (all) - I have no idea why I didn't watch this when it was on. Loved it, though the ending was extremely weak (they obviously rushed to tie it up in the few number of episodes they had available) Others I've started or plan to: X-Files - I just started in on re-watching it and hope to watch it in entirety. Weeds - I've seen through all the seasons up to current. Lost - I started it a while ago, but decided to wait until the series is done to restart it. 24 - I watched 1st season and I think 2nd, but not past that. Dead Like Me - I started it, but for some reason got away from it and hope to get back to it. Any suggestions for other good series? I noticed Indy's post about Firefly and it looks interesting...all reviews I've seen are glowing. I must say I kind of prefer the un-censored series on premium channels, but I'm not opposed to network shows. edit: guess I should add I'm not a fan of crime-dramas or medical shows...which pretty much eliminates 90% of networks shows lol

The Legend of Zelda - Favorite in the series
My favorite is still the original. I don't think I could even describe the amount of fun I had playing that game back when it came out (I was 12). See we didn't have cheats back then (no gamefaqs.com, etc.). You're only chance of finding all those hidden caves was dropping a bomb on every inch of every wall. If you got stuck on a dungeon, you just had to keep trying things til you finally figured out the puzzle or hope your friend could help you. That might sound tidious and annoying to some people now, but it made for such a satisfying accomplishment when you beat it and had found every single heart piece. My second favorite would probably be Link to the Past...the advancement in graphics when that came out was amazing, besides a great storyline. After that, I also really like Minish Cap, Twilight and Ocarina.

What's your Family Guy moment?
- Anti Drug Commercials
Indeed, it's probably the least physically harming drug there is. ...but probably the most mentally harmful- Anti Drug Commercials
The majority of them are filled with gross inaccuracies and downright propaganda. I have seen one or two that I think are realistic and effective: they'll show someone being offered drugs and they simply say, "no thanks" and the person offering says "ok". No BS about "peer pressure", no soapboxes about why they don't want the drugs, etc.- Rise Against-Appeal to Reason
ack...that's probably my 2nd favorite behind State of the Union, well maybe Alive and Well, To the Core, Stained Glass and Marble, Faint Resemblance, Heaven Knows...LOL. Wait there seems to be a pattern here...my favs are all the fastest :)- Rise Against-Appeal to Reason
I picked it up last night, but have only given it a couple listens. A couple of songs didn't really make much of an impression, but I'm sure they'll grow on me with more listens. Several songs I liked immediately: The Dirt Whispered, Entertainment, and Savior (along with Collapse and Re-education, which I'd head many times already). Hero of War is good anti-war song...works very well as an acoustic song.- Rise Against-Appeal to Reason
They've been one of my favorite bands for years. It's defintiely weird to see how popular they're become with mainstream. I've only heard a few songs off the new album. I won't comment yet on the music itself...I'd like to hear it all first. But, the quality of the recording and engineering is excellent as always, as this one was also recorded at Blasting Room, where all the best punk music is currently being done. The video was interesting, tho I'd say not as imressive as: If interested check out: 88 Finger Louie(Joe & Dan's former band) Baxter (Tim's former band)- Recommend a movie to the poster above you.
It's been a while since I've seen it, but I think The Devil's Rejects was pretty gory. It's kinda more of action/horror, but it didn't get a lot of press, so it may be one you haven't seen. I've heard House of 1,000 corpses is very gory, but I haven't seen it. Both are by Rob Zombie. For me, anything not too mainstream, maybe a comedy?- Recommend a movie to the poster above you.
Short Circuit. Walle looks like Johnny Five's little brother. - Anti Drug Commercials
