  1. Bumping just to say hi is considered spam. Please use the PM function in stead. -Necromagus, Tip.It Mod.
  2. And now O kings, be ye wise. Be admonished, ye judges of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son lest He grow angry, and ye perish in the way for His wrath may quickly kindle.
  3. Now that's a useful thing to know. I've been working to complete my Unova dex, and while having a female starter means I can use the GTS for most of it, I hadn't bothered going after Swoobat and Leavanny yet. Also, I find it a bit strange that they've added wild Pokémon like Crobat and Gliscor to the post-E4 game. I had a bit of a breeding blooper too. I wanted to try out a Belly Drum Darmanitan for some of the post-game content, so I decided to catch two of the Darmanitan outside of the relic castle and breed them until I got an adamant or jolly one. I quickly trained up the first adamant one I got, without checking its ability. Turned out it still had Zen Mode, thus making Belly Drum completely worthless.
  4. I'd just like to point out that name calling is unnecessary. You both used the report function to sort out your concerns, so let's leave it at that. -Necromagus, Tip.It Mod.
  5. While your concern is probably well-meant, the link itself is harmless. The only thing that's different is that they linked to the profile page rather than the video itself. There's no links anywhere in the video or the video description. -Necromagus, Tip.It Mod.
  6. April first has come and gone, and the joke has gone on long enough. -Necromagus, Tip.It Mod.
  7. I'd like to point out that there are better places to take pot shots at each other than a thread discussing forum policy, especially pot shots that violate forum rules. A round of 'knock it offs' to everybody involved. -Necromagus, Tip.It Mod.
  8. I'm glad you're getting into the spirit of things, but I suggest you keep all your festivities to one topic. -Necromagus, Tip.It Mod.
  9. Still a long way from competitive battling, but holy crap is this game a lot of fun to play. I've gotten six badges in two days, and it never really felt like a chore. There are so many subtle (and not-so-subtle) improvements that really made me wonder why they didn't do things like this three generations ago. The only thing that has really bugged me so far is that they pushed the availability of a lot of the really good TMs back past the Elite 4 to offset the fact that they're infinitely reusable now. Only decent one I've found so far is Thunderbolt.
  10. I caught Victini in a premier ball.
  11. I've never had a legitimate shiny pokémon outside of the Lake of Rage Gyarados and event pokémon like the Johto dogs. My biggest fear when I start playing black is encountering a shiny pokémon without realizing it and fainting it or running from it.
  12. Yes, we just haven't decided what yet.
  13. Fun fact: If you build a pyramid of quotes, you're basically inviting the mods and admins to sacrifice your accounts to the forum gods on top of it. I don't think any of us want that, so please don't do it. -Necromagus, Tip.It Mod.

Right, I've seen enough. Clearly this discussion isn't going to end in anything but a flamewar. I offered, many many many many times. I offered not locks, but more in-depth discussions. Bitter ones. Sweet ones. Ones with photoshops. So much was offered. So much was rejected. Now even the reasons have been forgotten. Only the suffering remains.
  15. The same reason some other boards (mainly the clan boards) also have specialized moderators. Some boards need specialized attention from people who are more familiar with that board's 'community'.
  16. Eh, times change, so do styles. That's as much true for wrestling as it is for music, television, and anything else. If you still want to watch wrestling but don't feel like watching modern WWE, a good alternative would be smaller companies like Ring of Honor.
  17. Radiant Historia. I'm about five hours in now, and it's been great so far. A great variation on the traditional turn-based battles that pretty much all JRPGs have, and the whole branching history paths idea is worked out really well. The first 45 minutes take forever to get through because of all the tutorials and plot exposition, but after that it really gets going.

Right, unfortunately these topics have a habit of getting out of hand, so I'd advise everybody who participates on either side of this debate to tread carefully. I'd say something about keeping you all on a short leash, but considering the topic at hand that would just be misconstrued as something completely different. -Necromagus, Tip.It mod.

  21. Crisis averted. Please carry on and all that (within the rules of course). -Necromagus, Tip.It Mod.
  22. Right, official mod business. I'm kindly requesting you all to drop what you're doing while I sort out this mess. -Necromagus, Tip.It Mod.
  23. Any idea on how I can do that? I've looked in all the usual places. ~edit: Never mind, fixed it through alsamixer. Kind of by accident, but the important part is that it works the way it's supposed to :)
  24. The problem is pretty much as described in the topic title. I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 on a HP Compaq NC6120 laptop, and when I plug in my headphones the audio doesn't stop playing over the laptop's speakers. This problem doesn't occur in Windows XP. Additional info: I'm running ALSA 1.0.23. Running aplay -l gives the following output: **** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices **** card 0: ICH6 [intel ICH6], device 0: Intel ICH [intel ICH6] Subdevices: 0/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 card 0: ICH6 [intel ICH6], device 4: Intel ICH - IEC958 [intel ICH6 - IEC958] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
