  1. Hex, I apologize for being busy this week. I know its a crime. I'll take Brazil again, just cause it's my favorite country. One thing I don't like as much about alternative history is with conventional history you can always just look stuff up and know everything about your nation.
  2. I'm pretty sure there are guns at WalMart that you don't even need a license for. But don't quote me there. Wal-Mart is the biggest seller of guns in the US, and probably the world. And you don't need to have a license in my state, or to register, or anything. You just need to be over 16 if you don't have parental consent.
  3. Whoops, that was my bad. I remember someone complaining about us all misspelling it earlier (Only saying it was spelled asbergers.), and I just glanced at your post and yeah, nevermind. Haha
  4. Hex, stop it. It's spelled aspergers.
  5. What, you cancel SGU, SGA seson 5, SGA Extinction, reruns of SG-1 and reruns of SGA seson 1-4? You're gonna have a lot of people just wanting to kick your [wagon]. Funny. I'm thinking just modern times. I do think we need some way to monitor production, so that way it's fair, but not too complicated. Or, maybe we can do like early cold war era.
  6. This isn't the Hegemony I once fell in love with... I agree. What happened to the Earth days? Remember the Dyson bubble being built around Sirius? Yeah. I personally blame this on the popular vote for a space thread and the people converting their nations into aliens. I blame it on Page 2 of the original thread where Doom and Norway begin their space programs (I think) -.- I blame everyone else for going crazy about that and then wanting faster than light travel, and then allowing people to instamove off earth.
  7. Life isn't pointless if there's no reward afterward. Trust me, it's not disappointing for people who accept that nothing happens when we die, or that we simply don't know what happens when we die (which, really, we don't). Just existing to see the beauty and mystery of nature should be reward enough. A chance to enjoy your life with friends and family should be reward enough. If this is it, then that's all the more reason to enjoy the immensely improbable opportunity while it lasts. What is the purpose of living for eternity with Jesus Christ in Heaven? Whats the point of that? Because youll enjoy it? Because thats what you want to do? Surely you can understand that for the non-religious, the purpose of life is to enjoy it and all the good company and good times to be had, for those very same reasons that you want to spend eternity with Jesus. To go along with what warrior head, I'd rather live this life the way I please, without worrying about being judged by some invisible guy in the sky with an inferiority complex. If I get punished for not believing something for the sake of believing, then so be it.
  8. Hey, archi, only about 15% of my fleet was destroyed, and more is built by now. So my fleet is still good :P Here was my suggestion: First: We are all on earth. Those who don't have countries must pick a new one. We all only start with one country, and those already on earth have first dibs on any countries they control (So dusty has dibs on most of Eurasia, I have dibs on Sa/NA/Africa, grim has dibs on indonesia etc. Second: We are all human. Sorry to aliens. Third: We keep all technology we had before, other than space technology. Alien technology can be turned into human technology. Fourth: We may only travel in our solar system, and cannot terraform entire planets. Fifth: We all have reasonable populations (I will decide what's reasonable). Sixth: All improvements done to the land in the country you own (ie: germanias wall) will remain.
  9. I don't really know, it might. I'm sure someone here has a better knowledge of Abrahamic religions than I do.
  10. Actually the Christan and Muslim god is one and the same. Its just the rules that differ, I guess. Yeah, its supposed to be the next incarnation of the Abrahamic faith. I believe Judaism and Christianity claim that there will be a new Prophet--Muhammad is supposed to play that role. From my understanding, here's the basis of it: Judaists think the prophet/messiah hasn't come Christians/Catholics think it was Jesus Muslims think it was Muhammad. They also think Jesus was a prophet, just not the final prophet of god.

  12. You could work on yourself a lot and you would be very good-looking. You have a good facial structure. But you need to get to work. Get a haircut, shave, be sure to wash your face twice a day, moisturize, etc. There's a lot. And start working out. If anything, it makes you feel better. I agree. Your eyes are a nice colour. But do everything Lent said. Pretty much. Here are some of my opinions: Short hair is more attractive on 95% of guys. Facial hair, especially just a mustache/mini-beard: bad. It looks like you have pretty good skin, that's good but make sure you do what Lent says to keep it that way.
  13. That's kinda good point Nadril... Maybe a shared afterlife where anything is possible, or just a world where you never die. I dunno.
  14. Well, its a part of life. Everyone dies someday, and since humans have existed we have wondered what happens after we die. Religions have their answers, ranging from reincarnation to spirithood, to heaven/hell. So, two questions: 1: What do you think happens? 2: If you could have anything happen, what would it be? I personally think nothing happens, which is of course impossible for us to comprehend. Ideally, I think when we die we can watch the earth, and people we care about for as long as we want, and then if we want we can be reincarnated, and lose all memories of our past lives. Then when you die again, you remember everything again, and it goes on. As awesome as that would be, I don't think there's even a chance of that, but hey, you never know I guess. And we never will know. Oh, I remember a topic about this, but I think it was a long, long time ago.
  15. Accuracy. Any one handed guns can be quite difficult to get a headshot with. Remeber that you could be nervous, and therefore your hand might be shaking a bit. A laser point would fix accuracy problems, but being able to get very calm, very fast is vital. I think the best weapon to use would be an AK-47, outfitted with a scope, assuming you can supress the urge to go full automatic or waste ammo quickly. If not, some sort of bolt action. But I guess it would be better to never have to shoot a zombie. eh. Random thoughts. Ak 47's aren't that accurate. Sure, they're reliable, but the reason why is because there is a lot of space in between the moving parts, which means they're not very accurate. Most modern day assault rifles or semi automatic rifles are pretty reliable. In max brook's book he was talking about the m16a1 and a2 which were used in the 60s.
  16. Original Hegemony started on July 26th. Lets just play until interest dies, then figure out what to do from there. Or, perhaps do the following: We stay at our current year ingame, with all the technology (minus space stuff, atleast no interstellar travel), and then we only have one country (for me, Brazil). We keep our average income, and all that, but keep a reasonable population (perhaps 400 million for me. Maybe more). We also keep any improvements we've made to our current country in the game so far. So all alien races would have to become human (sorry) and pick a country. They could keep basic equivalents of their technology though. If that all makes sense.
  17. At this point I think we should basically just ignore most economic factors. Because, in reality, money would be meaningless with so many people earning so much, and then no players are satisfied. Unless we want to do a complicated rehaul, but I doubt people would like that. I have a few ideas, but I dunno.
  18. Massive overpopulation. And archi, the ridiculousness of his threat made me laugh so I couldn't really resist.
  19. Watch out! He'll be forced to use vulgarity soon! Considering 13 billion is probably more than anyone but dusty or ross, I'd say we're being over generous.
  20. Ok, then you messed up your numbers somewhere Mather. It would take around 100 years with 5% with a starting population of 1 billion, which you didn't have. In fact, if you started with a number around 6or 7 million, it would have taken over 200 years.
  21. Things moved on when you tried to cheat the system. Remember the whole 'I am deploying drugs because I said I was researching it earlier this turn' well basically that means you said 'I want to run this is terms of days' and so I ran it in terms of days and guess what 13 billion people survived. No Godmoding. The leaders delusions did not transfer themselves to the surviours...Also they can eat each other and the water is now clean, since they are immune. Not godmodding, just supporting what you said. Lets say the survivors of this whole event is some number... ummm... say 13 billion? Mather, how do you have agriculture with 190 billion people on a planet or two? Farms have been a major part of both builds and work-places for at least 40 years now. How do your people breathe? Or get food to eachother? Wouldn't the combined heat of everyone being so close to eachother probably alter the planet haha? The co2 released from everyone would also kinda mess stuff up, I'd bet.

  23. Fine. The massive panics caused by the deaths, and the resulting food shortages, along with a lack of uncontaminated water lead to the death of billions more.
  24. Oh, damn, your planets exploded. Hate it when that happens. Oh, and your ships life support systems all failed. Drat. Last chance mather. Growth rates do not stay the same. There is no way you can possibly feed 192 billion people or whatever you had. You would probably run out of air, literally.
  25. There's the results of the battle w/ the Orz around 85 or 86.
