I've got 60 herblore. Is there any really good way to train it quickly? I've heard about buying ranarrs and selling prayor pots, but is this quick and effective enough? Are there better ways? I've got the ability to make a lot of money if necessary to level it. Thanks. =D

I agree that the random items you get are useless, but the tower itself is great for unicorn horns and red spider eggs. It's amazing. Those seconds are easy to collect now. I've done it a few times already.

Yes red chinchompas are the fastest. They've always been, in my opinion. I used them for many levels to get to 71. What else would be faster? In my experience red salamanders aren't, and neither are blacks. What's left?

~Merchanting, a cheap way to the riches?~
Sonicspeed replied to woodcutter12's topic in General Discussion
I agree. Merchants make my life easier by providing a lot of a product for a slightly higher price, which ends up saving me money in the long run because I can use the time I save to make the money back. -
Does anyone know how creature creation works? I'm busy doing other things and would like to hear about it. =D

Yes you need to unlock it, and yes you'll need one clay per spell.

It's not that, the login server's having trouble for some people. A tip.it mod posted in a topic I just made about it. Don't worry! You don't need to change your password.

Your account is already logged in. Please try again...

Ah, thank you. =D -
In another 60 seconds... My account has been in this state for at least a few hours. My window randomly closed itself out before I started getting that message, and when I tried to log back in it said the login server was down. Then this message about already being logged on. I know already that nobody else could possibly be on my account, so I'm pretty certain the login server did something odd. Is there anything I can do to log on now, or do I have to wait until it fixes itself. I somehow remember this happening before.

Actually, I heard some saying that Neitiznot is better now. You'll have to have done the Frem. Trials to access it though. I haven't checked the time myself.

Hunting: from 0 to 50 in 12 hours/ updated to lvl 99
Sonicspeed replied to howzitboy's topic in General Guides
You don't need bait for catching anything, ever. It's all optional. And it doesn't really help much anyway. I don't see any difference when or when I don't use it. (I'm a 71 hunter, so I have some experience in the matter.) -
A Guide to Using the Abyss Safely and Efficiently
Sonicspeed replied to Joltia's topic in General Guides
Ah, I see the advantage of using a teleport tablet then. I've been killed once or twice running to the bank when using a crystal. That's never fun. I hate getting the pouches. >_< -
I rather enjoy this minigame. I went ahead and got a full inventory of herbs, and was very pleased with the results. (Using the summer garden)
-
Yep. A ring of wealth won't do anything, but a glory will. The gem rocks spit out the useful gems much less often than the opal/jade/red topaz. I usually got one out of the entire group. I'm not sure how many rocks there were though.

A Guide to Using the Abyss Safely and Efficiently
Sonicspeed replied to Joltia's topic in General Guides
This is a very handy guide! Lots of good information, including some setups for protection I hadn't thought of. I also didn't realize that the mith pickaxe weighed less than the others! Thanks for saving me some time! It might be a good idea to add that an easy way to replace the pouches is using the fairy rings. I didn't read through the pages, so I don't know if it was mentioned. And personally, I use teleport crystals. They're easy to obtain, and once you have a lot, they're easy to recharge. Cheap too at 150gp for three charges. Far easier than having to craft teleport tablets in my opinion. I like! =D -
Completing the fairytale series is a must, as that opens up the fairy rings which are VERY useful. Lots of stuff there. Plus, you get the magic farm tool which helps with harvests. Thus more farming exp. Clock Tower's good for the yanille teleport. Between a rock is good to start for the blast furnace. That's all I can think of at the moment. The really important quests anyway.

Fremennik Isles Quest Reward (Spoiler)

Being mad at Jaxex for "copying" mythology is like being mad at Jagex for "copying" the idea of armor and weapons. -
Also, even with teamspeak, I think I might have trouble remembering what it was at times. Sometimes you have a "i'm teh stupid" moment and forget what it was, and if it wasn't up there you'd have to ask again. Also, the absence of a direction in the corner is the first thing I notice when I realize I have to call again. I might miss the change if only the call text changes and I miss it. <_< I think the horn clicks are plenty easy.

I'm absolutely amazed that prayor hasn't been mentioned. Prayor is hands down the most boring skill. What could be worse than simply standing in place, burying bones? And having to manually do one at a time? The only variations of the "one spot click marathon" technique are the house and ecto. Ectoing is almost worse as you have to do four times as much, and the house is really just the same thing only it uses up herbs and you use the bones. Prayor is still completely manual, and unlike theiving or agility, doesn't change one little bit. At least with those skills it requires conscious thought, as you have to follow something to pickpocket or watch out for guards in theiving, and for agility it requires different clicks for each obstacle.
-
I craft natures. I have over 75 runecrafting, so I use all four pouches through the abyss. It's quite effective.
-
Well, what does "the most common level" mean? If we take into account all of the accounts, that includes possibly thousands of never-leveled-barely-touched accounts. Should we count those? I suppose putting a time constraint would also slightly skew the results. We can assume, though, that as long as runescape is ever growing, the level average must be declining because there will be a larger and larger base of low levels.
-
Well, we first have to decide what you mean by, "What is there to strive for in hunter." The skills, in general, revolve around combat. Attack, defense, strength, ranged, magic and of course hitpoints. Therefore, I assume that your argument is that hunter does not support combat enough for it to be "useful". There are some skills that directly support and help combat. Agility recovers run energy faster, runecrafting makes runes for magic, fletching makes bows and arrows for ranged, crafting makes ranged armor, amulets, and jewelry, prayer helps combat, cooking helps cook food to recover hp in combat and herblore creates potions for combat and to boost other skills, and smithing creates armor and weapons. Slayer kinda fits in here like smithing, as you can obtain weapons and armor from it (as well as gold). Then there are the secondary skills that support the primary skills for combat. These are fishing for cooking food, mining for ores for smithing, farming for herblore, cooking and woodcutting, and woodcutting for fletching (and firemaking). Firemaking technically fits into these secondary skills because it allows the user to cook food anywhere, thus supporting cooking. So what does that leave us? Construction, theiving, and Hunter. None of these skills really fit into the supporting combat game. But they DO HAVE OTHER USES! That do, indirectly, help combat. Construction allows the user to teleport to new house locations, teleport to canfis without ancient magicks, use law runes instead of glory charges to use the glory teleports, dual, store certain items and save bank space, get quick prayor exp, save inventory space and switch magic lists around and keep regular teleports with tele tablets and keep enchantments and other spells with the other tablets. Construction, while not directly influencing combat, is still a lot of fun as well. And it's very useful. Theiving has limited uses. Its first arguable use it to produce direct money, which can then be used to pay other players to raise any other skill. It can also be used to gain certain materials for cooking, crafting, and magic. Hunter is a bit less useful than construction. But it DOES have uses! You must raise hunter for many of its rewards. Firstly there are the two capes, spotted and spottier. To wear them you need to raise hunter, 66 is required for the spottier cape. That cape allows you to run for much longer, as it subtracts 5 kg from your total weight. Silent gloves, requiring 54 hunter, allow easier pickpocketing and thus easier and more profitable theiving. In addition, 24 theiving is required for the rabbits feet amulet, which gives a higher chance to receive a nest from woodcutting. The nests then are used to help farming. As I said, you MUST raise hunter to even wear these items. Other items that are gotten by hunter, but do not require levels are salamanders, chinchompas, the hunter crossbow, and butterflies. All of these new weapons are quite interesting, chinchompas provide a new exciting way to train ranged, even if they are a bit tough to obtain, salamanders have proven to be a very effective weapon even for two hands because of their easy diversity. The hunter crossbow is rather powerful, and butterflies are as effective as super potions of their respective herblore counterparts! Overall, the hunter weapons are not useless. Finally, you underestimate the power of the Imp box. You must get level 71 to use it, and it is useful. By adding the boxes to your inventory and subsequently dropping the boxes after use, you can now obtain three times as many items in one "trip" to whatever you decide to gather. Since there are 28 spaces in the inventory, and if you use an imp for each one, you could drop two imps for your two items, transport those and drop the box, and continue on like that. After all your imps are gone, (They would have transported 56 items) you can still hold another 28 items. THUS, you can now collect a maximum of 84 items without banking, three times as many as 28, the maximum before! Likely, there won't be a case in which you will have a completely empty 28 inventory except for mining, but even if you only have 20 or 24 spaces, the imp box will allow you to carry three times as many items! Do you understand the possibilities? On the south side of the Karamaja volcano, they are quite easy to catch and I believe they are worth the time. They can be used for mining in obscure places, drops from monsters that are worth more than alching, barrows, and hey, even magic log cutting! In conclusion, while hunter seems very detached from the "combat focus" of nearly all the other runescape skills, I believe that it is not only quite supportive of the other skills, but it is worth the time to raise because of these many benefits. Not only are the benefits worth it, but many consider it to be one of the most fun skills to train.

Thrilled about hunter rewards - Are you? - My thoughts.
Sonicspeed replied to Leesters's topic in General Discussion
Personally, I believe cave slimes are the best for tar. It's very quick. As well, getting more gloves of silence is easy. They're totally worth it. =D -
Hello there. =D What are good spawns for imps? I've been trying south of Falador, west of Edgeville, and around the Karamaja volcano, but I'm looking for something even faster/easier. I would love to use a spot that has one or two spawns in an enclosed area, like a building. Does anyone know of such a location? Or perhaps even better outdoor locations to find Imps? Thanks!

Correcting a misconception about Imps. (Or a recent change)
Sonicspeed replied to Sonicspeed's topic in General Discussion
Wow, great find with the use thing! And to the above poster: You still do need 71 hunter to actually catch and use the Imps. So, it might be changed, but at the same time there's still some requirement involved. A good bit of time. I spent hours working mine up to 71 from Wednesday to Saturday on my thanksgiving break. So don't expect pkers to utilize the boxes fully for a bit.
