My big thing about a melee+binds fight would be that a 20v20 can turn into an hour long fight. Can get extremely boring. At least with all styles you get it over and done with. If I wanted an hour long fight it would probably be better to do a returning war. B)

DW declared on us. It was also matched. Do not let DW's ml fool you either. They have a great deal of experience in fights like this. We did not take them lightly and I believe that in the end was what helped us to win more than anything else.

I'd be interested to know why you don't think they count. By all means ask many of the older members of clanning. Sabres have split before as well as having closed due to issues within the clan. When they split it was a break up of the original clan and it was only really after that it was claimed to still be Sabres (probably to hold onto the title). I am speaking for what I have been told of course by multiple sources who were active during this time. They will claim they have not but MANY members from multiple old-school clans can vouch for different circumstances. Sure they are the oldest clan to have ever been involved with Runescape however I believe it would be safe to say that the oldest ACTIVE clan would belong to someone else. Heck THE has been in the top 5 longer than most clans have been alive. It is only in recent years that Gladz BK and THE dropped out of that rank. I dont believe anyone can question the longevity of any of those 3 though. They all have stayed active and pretty much have not fallen below at least top 30 overall. Lol. The Sabres havent closed ever, although spilts between the Light and Dark Sabres occured, you can read the history on their forums. Thesabreclan.com. They have never officially closed, but have gone from the spot light due to things changing in the clan world, pvp, etc. They are still active in the sense of having events and an active community. Anyone who says that the Sabres closed has been mis-informed. Just because you dont hear from a clan doesnt mean that it doesnt exist or has closed. Due to some of the leaders of the past, they did not really care about what the clan world thought or etc, so they didnt do much warring. However, they did have pk trips, albeit smaller. But there has always been people there and events happening, whether or not they had new recruits or were losing, they were always struggling in existence. And btw, this spilt happened between members of the Sabres who were following after each other, but I believe that they were remerged, never has the Sabres ceased to exist. Lynx So then you are not sure about it either judging from words used like "believe"? I have personally heard the history from multiple sources stemming from old THE, BK, and other people who were active during the older times and all have confirmed it. You claim that the sabres have never closed but do you personally have any proof to show otherwise? It seems like this is going to be a topic where sides will simply agree to disagree. The big problem lies in the fact that The Sabres have not been a presence enough to back up the claims of never having closed unlike other old school clans.

I am actually surprised and excited that so many people seem to at least have an open mind about adding more styles to fights. Like I have stated it really was through our journey through TWR last time that helped us learn how to fight with them. It really does add extra cogs into warring that can make it that much more exciting. Maybe as a whole we can slowly try to put more styles into fights. If everybody is trying to do it then everybody is learning together.

I have personally been involved with a low opts fight like a 20v20 in which it was melee+binds only and it lasted for 45 mins to an hour. I believe this was when we started really pushing for more styles in fights as we wanted to speed up the process of who was the better clan. I actually feel low opts fights are when someone should learn how to do all styles. If you want until its 30v30 or 40v40 then members will be getting 1 hit if they do not know how to react. In a 20v20 all styles it would be best to describe it as feeling like 30+ people of melee+binds in terms of trying to tank. Just my 2 cents

I have personally been looking over tip.it for a few weeks now posting here and there. One thing I have noticed is how often clans opt for melee+binds only in fights on tip.it fights and I honestly have wondered why it is this way? I remember when THE was a in TWR last time and it was actually through TWR that we got experience with fighting with range and blast. Some reasons I have seen are that a clan is not experienced in the styles so they do not wish to use them. How will you ever learn unless you try? I am also intrigued that with the Jagex cup coming out which does not limit the styles used in their fights (their house rules are all-styles choosing to not take anything from the game) if TWR may change their house rules to all-styles soon? I do understand why clans do not always want to use something like corrupt armour and weapons due to the fact it is seen as a buyable measure in fights. Coming from a clan that used to do melee+binds only years ago or melee+range and stepped up to all-styles to better ourselves and our experience I can safely say it has only benefited us. As a whole it has pushed us to be more organized and to learn to tank better. I would personally like to know What styles does you clan normally fight with? Would you be willing to fight with more styles added into fights (should you usually limit your styles to say melee+binds only)? What is your opinion on this topic (was I out of line in anything)? Was not expecting to pull so high with it being early and end of school for so many of our members 10 kills 0 deaths Sorry about a few of our newer members sniping without asking. Lets not lie now though. Dk tends to only fight clans they outnumber. I do feel this will be short-lived as the attention that DK gets on rsc will not be mirrored here. We have competed successfully with all of the current top clans. Can we say the same about your clan? Sit down kid. Valery I am not a kid so please dont talk to me as such. And good job you posted a pic of topics. Bet quite a few deal with teaming of some sort with people outside of your ml. Dont talk down to me when it is you that seeks attention. My clan has been in the top 10 and even top 5 longer than most clans have been alive. You only recently have been able to compete with the top 10.
