Ask a stupid question, get a SMART answer!!
Because most people either don't want to take the time to come here for fun or are busy posting on the boards where actual topics are discussed. Why do I clip my toe-/fingernails?

15th May 2009 - Limited Edition Chosen Commander Hoodies
Yes. Indifference is certainly the method that requires the least amount of effort and brings little to no change about, ever. People will still mess with you if they elicit no response. But reacting with anger isn't right either as I've already explained... Personally, as a nerd/geek/whatever, I just go along with any jokes thrown my way (so long as I deem them 'appropriate;' if 'inappropriate,' I either ignore the jokes or start up a "battle of wits" with them (too bad I can't use iocaine powder  )) and I've developed a reputation as a 'cool' nerd (for lack of a better term). 8-) Although, I have to admit that being at the top of my class and having a black belt in taekwondo probably helped a little.

Is melee a buyable skill?
In my opinion, if you make money off of a skill, it's not being "bought." Yes, you are losing out on potential money from other sources, but, from the way I look at it, you are trading that for the exp and are therefore still making a profit.

I think that audiences only give requests until you do the agility event, but even that doesn't make sense since Llavada only received requests during mage and ranged. I will be paying special attention to this over the coming weeks and will try all the different possible orders in which you can do the events (only 4 left (actually, only 3 left if you count what I did the first week we recorded when the crowds made requests as I am 90% sure that I did the events in my generic order of mage, agility, range)) and see if I can make out a pattern.

woot! Cash 4 Gold worked for me, made $40 profit!
It's not a scam, per se. It is a business and they have to make money somehow and therefore they generally buy gold for less than it is actually worth so that they can resell it for profit. You had it for four years? Here's why they gave you $80 bucks for it: source: http://goldprice.org/gold-price-history.html#5_year_gold_price If you remember how much it weighed, you can use that ^ to see how good of a deal you really got (as an overall investment, I say good job because you were able to buy low and sell high; I'm just curious if you got a good deal at the current price of gold). Whatever the case, have fun with the money!

hunter from 62-70
For maximum exp, stick to red salamanders until lvl 80. For maximum profit, catch red chins all the way from 63 to 99. Personally, I would recommend sticking to red salamanders until about 70-72 and then red chins the rest of the way.

When are you accountable for your actions?
My stance is pretty much that it's pretty much always your fault. With the Jad thing, that's bad timing on your part unless you were going for the fire cape on a day other than Tuesday (when most updates are released). When it comes to DC'ing in a dangerous area, I would only say it's not your fault if you generally don't disconnect more than like once a day. If you DC a lot and knowingly enter somewhere dangerous, DC and die, that is, imo, on you (although I empathise with people who do DC a lot and go to dangerous places anyways (missing out on content because of a crappy connection is lame) since their parents are generally the ones that decide what ISP they have). When you die because of someone abusing a bug, I would have to say that it depends on if you knew about the bug beforehand. Of course, the bug abuser is the one that needs punishing, but if you knew the bug was out there (and/or, possibly, just weren't paying any attention to what was happening), then it is also your fault in that you made the choice to do something you knew was likely to kill you. Pretty much, if you had any (plausible) way to avoid it, it's your fault.

Mod Mmg's Cc, 5th May.
Thanks for posting that. I'm glad to see MMG's still getting on from time to time. I'm surprised no one's mentioned this line, yet. It'll be interesting to see what they do on this particular subject with the main question being: will they be changing content or the rules to do this? And next in line is: if they take the route of changing content, how are they going to change it and how will it affect the average 'Scaper?

What would it take to kill the Runescape Economy?
You forgot to mention that, unless the clan went after a discontinued item(s), the clan would eventually run out of money as more of said item(s) continued their steady, and likely increasing with the higher prices, flow into the markets (another part of your post implied it, but you forgot to mention it outright). The fact of the matter is that, short of having a large majority (probably at least 75%) of the RS population involved in the endeavor (which, obviously, isn't going to happen), there is no way for players to, in a lasting and sustainable way, kill even a small part (i.e. one item) of the RS economy (Jagex could with a combination of the removal of player-to-player trades and the freezing of prices on the GE). Bailouts. I lol'd

Fletching, firemaking and cooking - Skillcapes of dirt?
Fletching and cooking are looked down upon because not only are they (relatively) cheap (especially if you get 99 wc and fishing, respectively, before like I did :P ) and fast, but they're also afk-able. Personally, I see firemaking as a great achievement (I can only light a few rows of fires before I get bored :wall: ). Anyone who says it isn't has probably only looked at the numbers and wouldn't consider getting it themselves. Also, if people are putting firemaking in as one of the 'skillcapes of dirt,' then why isn't theiving part of that list? Not only does the emote suck (imho), but, from what I understand, the exp rates once you get into the 90's are like 200k+ exp/hour and chances are you're going to be making money from it (even if you have to buy the food you're bound to use, you make more than enough from the crap you get to pay for it; and that's not counting the possibility of getting a pharoah's sceptre). NOTE: I consider all skillcapes achievements and wouldn't put anyone down for having any of the above skillcapes, but I do respect some more than others.

3rd Age/Spirit shields/Phats Discussion
Partyhats are the best when looking at long term (as in, months or, possibly, years) investing. Yes, they did fall, but that was because of the loss of rich stakers and pkers and the fact that all the rich merchants were selling them to get into the spirit shield and 3rd age markets that were getting up to some pretty insane prices, but now that the 3rd age and spirit shield markets are gone and pking has "returned," I don't see why partyhats (and probably all the lower rares as well) wounldn't go back up to the top of the price "ladder" (for lack of a better term). If you want to just make money as fast as possible, then, yes, you should look at other things to buy and sell so as to take advantage fo the 5% fluctuations.

RS is the worst piece of crap to be the greatest thing ever.
TBH, I had more fun as a lower level when I didn't care so much about levels. All I needed back then was my trusty rubber chicken and a good friend or two (one of the main reasons it took me 4 months to get 99 wc was because I kept leaving the trees to chase a friend around and/or play cw with someone). Then, of course, Edgeville got pwned by clan chats and me and my friends stopped going through there and, in effect saw each other a lot less  ; and, with me being more inclined towards skilling and mini-games and my friends more inclined toward pvp and monster hunting, everything just turned into a grind. I'm starting to get back to those fun days (I mostly either hang out at the GE/Edgeville bank in full santa gear pelting people with snowballs or whacking them with my rubber chicken   or at sc where all I do is 1-item (lvl 5 daggers ftw) and try to get the most kills and damage done in each game 8-) ), but my old friends are either still out monster hunting and such or have quit. :| EDIT: Hopefully I will be able to make some new friends if/when I switch over to MechScape (whenever it comes out) and I can do my best not to repeat the same mistakes I made on RuneScape (namely, forget that the point of the game is to have fun and not to grind away endlessly ignoring friends because you "have" to get that level by next Friday :wall: ).

3rd Age/Spirit shields/Phats Discussion
Phats have been dropping pretty steadily for the past ~2 years now When it comes to long-term investments, there's nothing better than something that is low in supply with no more coming in. Also, with all the other high-end items crashing, chances are that, being what they are, phats (and probably all rares) are likely to move back up and take their place.
