Faint
I live in the Liverpool, UK. I am an ordinary child going to an ordinary school. My school is a peaceful school and it takes a lot of whatever it can be to turn my school to a chaotic place. And this week, it has. Two pupils of my school and their family are to be deported for the wrong reasons. Ishtiak and Nazifa Chowdhury are to be deported because their father's visa, in which the family were staying in the country with, is now to be invalid because the father had died. Ishtiak is a very bright pupil with a great future ahead of him and Nazifa is attended 6th form and hopefull university. Now the goverment are to restrain the family and deliver them to the hands they had run away from. The Chowdhury family fled India due to political persecution and the kidnapping and threat to the lives of the two children, Ishtiak and Nazifa. The mother of the family, a well known voluntary worker in the family's area, suffers a severe abdominal condition and the daughter, Nazifa, is due to go to hopsital for an important medical treatment. However, if they go back to India, they will surely not recieve all medical treatment and medicine to ensure their health. It is believed the family will be deported on the British Airways flight from Heathrow to Bangladesh on Sunday afternoon (1st April 2007). Unless we act now. The school had organised a petition for the family to stay in England. The petition will go towards the Prime Minster and the Home Office so that they can acknowledge the families ordeal so that they can stay her will full asylum. To your part please sign this petition. Click the link below and sign the petition now. Thank you. Please keep bumping this thread since I can not do it often. http://petitionthem.com/?sect=detail&pet=3798 Neocrononom. Mercifull
Maybe if officials actually listened to online petitions I might sign. Yeah but when the campaign is over, they are going to take the petition to 10 downing street. So who knows, maybe they might listen this time. Neocrononom. Parabola
Regardless of how sad the tale may be, nothing will come of this since if it did, it would be the government saying "we're happy to break the rules if enough people want it".
mad4u689
Regardless of how sad the tale may be, nothing will come of this since if it did, it would be the government saying "we're happy to break the rules if enough people want it". That's not true, in this particular case. Granting asylum works in funny (and sometimes unfair) ways - granting asylum because of popular support has happened in the past and will happen again Everybody hug and spread the love :D

Bubsa
Anything for a fellow Liverpudlian. Can't hurt to sign. If there's anything else you need support wise, you let us know. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
Parabola
They will never accept an internet petition, simply because you could do exactly what you're doing - post it on a site filled with people who have no idea who this person is and ask them to sign. Flametrooper
still, there's no reason not to sign, even if it is pointless.
