andufusthebronze
Alrighy, picture it now... You are with a group of friends, after watching a good film , in a town. Small enough not be a city, big enough not to be a village. It has a cinema, book stores, supermarkets and all that. Anyway, your friend wants to go and buy a book. So sure enough, you go to the book store for a while, she finds the book she wants, and you leave. Around three meters away, three chavs are sitting on a bench. They call to one of your friends, come over here, come over here. Naturally, your friend refuses. Your group walks away, and ignores the masses of insults. Except on of your friends is defensive over others. One of them shouts to your friend "you look like a tramp" at this point he snapped. "That makes two of you." he called back. Then we kept on walking. After a while the eldest of the group, notices that they are following us. You ignore it, and sit back outside the cinema. Sure enough, they come up to you, and start threatining you. The one who noticed them says "what do you want? Do you want us to leave?" they ignore that, and keep insulting you. Eventually, they break one of the necklaces your friend is wearing, and push over one of your friends. When they push on the third, the defencive one stands up "dont you dare touch her." they punched him. The girl who's necklace was broken pulls out her phone. she dials 99. She says that she will phone the police if they do not leave immidiatly. They don't stop you walking back into secuirity where you inform secuirity, and get your friend cared to. The secuirity phones the police, and eventually you and all of your friends leave. But before the police get there. The secuirity take statements from you. The one that got punched has a black eye. Well, thats what happened with me and my group. Im organizing somehing at my house to check that they are ok this sunday, that was on tuesday. Now consider, I sat silent. Here are some questions for you 1. How would your group acted diffrently? 2. What would you have done? 3. What would you have done afterwards? Satenza
Well, since I'm 17 i doubt any Chavs would start on a group of my friends. Some are pretty well built guys. However I'd probably just ignore their general ignorance whilst everyone else shouted at them. If they came up and broke the necklace of one of my friends, then it would be quite a show. With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.
jak722
1. How would your group acted diffrently? Most likely the same thing. Althought there would have likely been a fight. Small chance though, as most of my friends are not pushovers, but they are level headed. 2. What would you have done? I would have just stood and watch. If anything serious happens, I would have to intervene. 3. What would you have done afterwards? I would have spread the story of the incident around. If its a small town like that, someone would be bound to know those guys. Bubsa
I have to say mate, I think your group handled it bloody well. Not being dragged down to that pushy shovy, threatening level is very, very tough. Having one friend acting defensive showed you weren't prepared to be pushed around, while you didn't all get involved and escalate the incident. It was understandable one of you would retaliate with words, but at least it was just that: words. Getting the police involved scared them off with their tails between their legs. Your priorities were right, safety and getting your friend cared to. Honestly, well bloody done. Ideally, I'd react exactly the same, but I don't know if I would :P Hope your friend makes a speedy recovery. I'll just say this: never forget the two who brought this upon you. Not after weeks, months or years. Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer. Let them look over their shoulders for awhile. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you. The_Dragon_Reborn
First of all, I'm from America, where the word Chav is not used...ever that I have heard. If this is what the average Chav looks like: Then I don't think you have much to worry about. They seem like a bunch of spoiled white kids who are trying to be way too black. ~~Let The Dragon ride again, on the winds of time~~I've always felt as if I'm the only person who can understand the concept of sarcasm on the internet. Bubsa
Good picture, but inaccurate description. Although a lot of them like Hip-hop, it's not in a 'wigga' kind of way. Yes, I know this post is jam full of stereotypes, but oh well. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.

Celluzion
Depends on what group of friends I'm with, since I mix around with a lot of people. Though there aren't any chavs here, there's just poser gangsters around which annoy the hell out of me. I guess if I'm with my old school classmates then there'd probably be a fight if they tried to lay their hands on any of us since they're pretty tough, and have the "We-don't-take-crap-from-people" kind of people. Lateralus
If a friend gets hit, it's all in. (assuming the odds are at least somewhat alright). There's worse things than getting done in a bit, I'd gladly stick up for a friend, and expect the same. In some situations it's obviously stupid to fight back. I was once beaten up pretty bad with bats and knuckle dusters by about five people when I only had two friends with me. Normally they would have tried to help, but there was about another 15 people with the other group. Sometimes the odds just mean you have to get pushed around a bit. La lune ne garde aucune rancune. splatmster24
I would have whipped out a knife (I carry a knife) and cut them up a bit. Then I would definitely run. i would have fought. im the kinda guy that if somebody abuses a woman in any way, shape or form they need to get knocked down. i dont care if i would have got my butt kicked, i wont let that slide. even if i did get hurt it would give her a chance to run and get the cops or somebody. btw, what in the world is a chav? Say what you mean and mean what you say because those that matter don't mind, and those that mind don't matter.

rushrock
I'm having some trouble picturing a chav... Well, considering what I wear, I put up with insults all day. Even so, I can't help but feel a fierce anger at the person who did it and the desire to beat him senseless. Even so, I usually just stick to an insult tossed back. 1. My group would've been more hostile, but sadly, more used to it. We would probably start a fight in less than a couple of minutes. 2. We would've thrown some insults back at them, and would continue with the insults until they either approached us or stopped. If they approached, we would try to swear them off, and if they attacked, we'd probably be all over them. I can tell you right now that if any of them laid a hand on anybody in my group, I'd be all over their [wagon]. I don't care if I got hurt (I probably wouldn't, though). I would be madder than you could probably believe, especially if they did all of the stuff mentioned in your experience. We would continue with the beatings until they fled or were "dealt with." 3. Afterwards, we would probably just continue with whatever we were doing. I swear to god, I can't take these kind of situations. I switch over to animal instincts and just want them to suffer for their actions. They shouldn't be able to do these kind of things.
zaquierming
I can honestly say I wouldn't have handled it as well as your group did. I would have yelled insults back at them but generally ignored them and carried on with what we were doing but if they were to touch any one of my friends then they're getting a beating. Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-I took the one less traveled by,And that has made all the difference.
ROBOSRUS
1. We would NOT wait for them to hit anyone nor break the necklace. If anyone is being agressive to my "group", then they're just giving us permission to get them. 2. You know what I would have done, if it was logical to fight, and not too outnumbered, I would fight. I'm generally a good kid so most people beleive me  The thing is, I can feel pain, but not care. What I care about is getting them back. 3. Called the police saying we were defending ourselves. Or just leave.
____
If I was with my group of friends, and a bunch of Chav's had a go at us, they would've gotten snapped. It wouldn't be the first time people who have randomly shouted insults at us while out had their arses handed to them. Half the time when the entire group stops, turns and advances they piss off and run because they know they're [bleep]ed. The other half of the time, they try and fight and end up getting owned. xvillexvalox
1. How would your group acted diffrently? 2. What would you have done? 3. What would you have done afterwards? 1. Depend's what "group" I'm in at the time, if it was with my senior freinds, things would got violent. If it was with my female freinds, I would have to talk them out, or just anoid it all together. With about 2-3 of my freinds, we all have the same necklaces from a 2004 HIM concert that we basically never take off, coincidentally we didn't know eachother back then. If one of those necklaces were broken, alot of blood is in sight. 2. If a fight started I would stay back if its 1 on 1, and as soon as a see my freind being in trouble, try and get in the middle. If it was only me, I'd talk my way out of it. If it was a group fight and I got punched, I'd fight back. (A group fight would definately break out if it was one of those 2004 necklaces that aren't sold anymore) 3. I would have to get a new ball-chain for the necklace, probably run like hell in case of police, and keep it quiet. Actually, a fight almost broke out today, nothing big. My group of freinds at the time was this: Me, a freshmen, A guy, a senior. 3 girls, 2 sophmores, 1 junior. We were kicking a can around in a empty hallway, and two arabic kids(probably a sohpmore and a junior) stop in the middle of our little "feild" and talk. We keep on playing, waiting for the busses to come, a few times the can came close to hitting them, and the secound time I kicked the can and hit one of them on the foot, one of them got defensive and kicked the can away (15ish feet behind me) and started threatening me in general. First I just made sure to get the can, I wasn't to worried if it was just a one on one fight, I can take a punch, and I knew this kid couldn't be any tougher or heavier than my dad, who I fight with all the time (punching, kicking and all, but no face hits). But I guess because my freind who's a senior was also getting ready for it, he casualy walked back by his freind.
