Ok, pretty simple..

You seen those bald dudes at the yews.

You seen those bald dudes hoggin ya fish.

You seen those bald dudes maging that lesser.

So, i've thought of something.

With the yews:

Make an attack requirement to hold axes, and if you're a skiller, honestly, too bad, you can get 40/60 attack =|

Make axe heads (NOT dragon) WEAR OUT, so in time, you need to go to bob to fix! :D

Bronze axe - 100 cuts

Iron - 150

Steel - 200

Black - 250

Mithril - 300

Addy - 350

Rune - 500

Dragon - Unlimited

If your axe wears out this message comes up:

Your axe is too blunt to cut, go to Bob in Lumbridge to get it fixed.

:)

For mining -

Same as wc, except you go to Nurmof to fix your pick.

Fishing -

After a while (lets say, 300 fish/shrimp/whatever), your fishing net frays and breaks.

You have to either get some rope and fix it, or buy a new one.

Also, with harpoons, your harpoon bluntens after 500 fish, and your rod snaps after 400.

They got all dozins of steel axes in bank :(

here is my suggestion :):

So the axe head flies off when u begin to chop a wood -> you can't lose it even if AFKing (unless you're a fool :S)

Axe head 'should be fly away'-rate (every # trees the head will why away)

axe type - # - (wc xp for repairin)

Bronze axe - 5 - 20

Iron - 5 - 30

Steel - 5 - 40

Black - 10 - 80

Mithril - 8 - 60

Addy - 10 - 80

Rune - 30 - 300

Dragon - 300 - 3000

Macros never get the (small) axe head back from what I've seen. This would cause them lose their axes really ofter (they never use rune).

This doesn't work vs. fishing, autobuying or green dragon macros tho :(

loginmessagessiggy.png

I agree with the woodcutting axe thing, but nopt for mining. Honestly, do you know how short of a time a macro lasts? It's about a day, so with all the mining competition, no macro would want to mine. In fact, from level 70, it takes 62 hours of straight work to get to 85. That's longer than the average macro lasts. It's simply not worth it to make a mining macro, it's much easier and more profitable to make a woodcutting one.

What about coal iron and such? you say? Well remember, only one person can get an ore. Think of all the places to mine coal in nonmembers, all of them are packed with people, so it results in them not getting as much cash as they would woodcutting.

Aside from that, all us powerminers would have to stockpile on rune pick axes if they are to get anywhere, and that is massively inconvenient. It takes around 84k iron to get from level 15-85, that's a lot of rune pick axes, or, that's a lot of extra time it's going to take to get them repaired.

My point? Drop the mining axe thing.

there already is an attack level to hold axes.

i think he means that unless yer wielding the axe you cant get the logs..... am i right?

and yeah i dont like the mining thing either......the wc thing is ok though.....

but also it could be changed so that if you are wielding the axe you dont need to get it repaired?????

^ yep.

+, if you dont like the mining one, lol@u, because it'd stop em in the long run.

These are good ideas, but for mining how about you got to the dwarf pick axe salesman.

Very good idea - it is about time ?Jagex actually did something about these idiot macros

Gorak Chronicles Ended, thinking of something new for next week

Wouldn't work. They'd just stock up hatchets and that's it. Getting 100 steel hatchets wouldn't take too long time and money, but would probably last longer than the character.

i dont like this idea.

too many people would complain.

It creates too much inconvenience, and macroers will be able to evade it easily. It would be almost as bad as Pure Essence.

Why do you resist? My experiments are only helping humanity push the boundaries of the Art of Toxicology... you should be proud to be one of my victims.

~Toxicologist~

The hatchet repair thing won't stop macroers at all. Firstly the amount of cuts you posted is absolutely ridiculous, it would need to be much higher. Apart from that, as somebody said macroers will stock up on hatchets. Macroers could also auto walk to bob and repair their hatchet easily, so it wouldn't hinder them anymore than it would hinder legit players.

About the attack/combat stat requirement, it has already been said many many times before. That idea is nothing new, and neither are skill pures complaining about it. While I don't see the point in skill pures, every noob and his dog seems to have one. They aren't anything special anymore, they will still whine if a combat requirement is added.

I don't see the difference between this idea and fatigue from RSC :-k

no! i won't even think about cutting mages again unless i had like 20 rune axes, which your idea, no offense is kinda of bad. you cant do that period. second jagex isn't that stupid, what if your not macroing, what will you do, pay bob 10k every week, bob would be f**king rich in about 20 min. really think up something better and something that i would take that i could stop by paying attention. num***

my sig hates me, I cant get it to work :(

I don't know if you meen you have to wield the axe to cut, but there are already req. on the axes. you can keep the axe in your inventory and still cut.

No no no... I dont think so.

There is no dragon picaxe. This means that powerminers (even P2P) would not exist. No powerminers would want to go to the dwarven mines to get their picaxe fixed every 20 minutes. This idea is creative, but just won't work out. Another thing. You might have seen that on the April 2nd poll for the "Favorite skills of all time", the woodcutting skill won the most popular skill to train in. My attack level is 6, but my mining level is currently 64 and my woodcutting is currently 66. This would almost delete the skill from runescape, or something like it:

"You must have level 40 attack to unlock the woodcutting skill."

This basically kicks out the fishing, woodcutting, and mining skills from anyone under a certain level. This would also mean that tutorial island would be cut around half its size.

Um nice idea but I see obviously your a person who doesnt like having company while mining or woodcutting.

This should be very expensive for noobs, they are actually paying to get to lvl 20 mining, how must they get cash without a startbudget. Don't forget most totally noobs have never heard about air running  :)

i like the mining and wc one cuz it makes sense too, that ur equipment gets blunt after a while

-and also as backup, if any1 says ppl will just stock up on a lot of axe/pics, well it would still make autoing a lot harder cuz each auto u have to run would cost a lot, and also the chance that u get banned wont make them want to risk putting so many pics on an auto

the rope net wouldnt work as well cuz they could just buy tons of nets, but itd still make it harder for a program to find out how often to withdraw a new net

overall-dang this is an awesome idea, gonna make love to it now ::'

Even if the macroer put 20 rune axes on the account, it will still make well over that before it gets banned. Anyway, the macro would be more likely to have 5 axes, then walk down to bob and repair them all at once.

No it wouldn't

Fraid not. It doesn't even do it's intended purpose of stopping macroers.

...And that's just wrong...

This idea just won't work. Won't be too much trouble to make them repair their axes.

f203f1850c.png

Useless... U haven't autoed before? I think not... Well normally autoers have about 4 axes in their invent. So they're not afraid of anything, be it the axe head or the axe handle, falling off. The best way to stop macroers is to make the behind of varrock palace like the garden of tranquility; that is, to remove the 3 yews thats there. They can add some highway men at the cathy place. Also, a new random can b added. This random would ask a simple question like, the answer to 2+3, how to spell yews backwards; things 13 year olds should know.
