ktmcf121
I don't think of getting 99s as in '50levels to 99' I think it as a way to sho your devoted. Come on you got 90craft! your 10levels away so why not go for it eh? too bad lvl 90 isn't even halfway to 99.
Abyssalwhip
No wonder your sig says that... And you don't even a skill cape so where are to say this? Your name is "bet you fail", and you're starting a business with your mom? I'm not even going to touch that.....
CheeseBap
Oh My God PLEASE type in a comprehensible manner it drives me insane when you talk like a reject, it does not take much to type a few extra letters. However - When I was getting 99 ranged and 99 magic I did not do it for the want of a skill cape, I did it for the want of being able to hit harder in ranged and more accuratly in magic. I am now working on prayer and only so that I can eventually get 126 combat, so again not for the cape. I see the cape as a nice little reward at the end but not as a reason to get a 99 stat. ^Poker Tournament^

ElCusco
A level 52 prayer can use smite, so that's where people should stop training it. A level 70 Ranger can use crystal bows, Karil and so on, so that's where people should stop training. Well...atleast if I follow your opinion. We all know that you can pray longer with 99 Prayer, you can hit more with 99 Range and 99 Mage. But it's the same thing with Mining, Woodcutting, Fishing and so on. When higher Ranged hits harder, higher Fishing catch more fishes faster. When higher Mage hits harder, higher Mining reduces the ammount of hits and time before you get the ore. Rank 10 Mining in Sweden :)

Made0f12une
Depends If you're buying the skill- No, you wont make ANY profit what so ever. You'll probably loose money if anything If you're not buying the skill- Yes, everything you get from that skill (such as hunting) which can be sold for money (such as 50K Red Chinchompas for 35m) ^^ClicK^^"I backed my car into a cop car the other dayWell he just drove off sometimes life's ok...Alright already we'll all float onAlright don't worry we'll all float on" - Isaac BrockDays Hunting:4 - Kingly Imps Caught:2Money Earned: 4.5-5m
gamblingfool
If you can't understand that people have goals, and to max a level is a major goal. It's basically bragging rights. You've maxed a skill, you can't go another level higher. It's a good feeling to see 99 on your stats page, not 98, 90, or 85.
racethunder
i got mu 99 today, im ok with 98 str but the cape + a maxed out skill just gives a little extra.. i luv it btw... <>26 april 2007*̢̮â¬Å¡ÃâôÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâè) ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâø.̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃââÃÆââ¬Å¡ÃâôÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâø.̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ*̢̮â¬Å¡ÃâôÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâè) ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâø.̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ*̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâè) (̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâø.̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃââÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâô (̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâø.̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ*RaceThunder
Solidus_77
A skillcape is like a spotlight that hangs over you wherever you go. Rarer the skillcape, the bigger the spotlight. I have become the center of attention no matter where I go, it was TOTALLY worth all the effort. 76th to reach 99 Construction on 6th of February 2007379th to reach 99 Runecrafting on 4th of November 2007 Finally the secrets of goal achieving are revealed! jimbob9999
Its useless, duh? A couple of pixels that you look that and impress ppl with. Then the impressed ppl hardly are impressed, they just work to get one too in order to impress ppl. Endline, everyone wastes their life on them while jagex gets the money. lmao!!! so true :) Then it's just as useless as an abbysal whip, because that's only a few pixels that impress people with it's look and the high hits you can do, which are also just pixels. In fact runescape is made up of pixels, and basically everything we do in the game should be to have fun, if you enjoy leveling a skill and the cape lets you enjoy the game more then of course it's worth it. His argument isn't so true, it's a stupid point. Basically everything you do in runescape could be argued is done for the sole purpose of showing off and impressing people, it all depends on our reasons, and the points he made can apply to any aspect of the skills and items in runescape not just skill capes. The only part that holds any truth is his last sentence, but if people are enjoying the game they're not wasting their time. revanlives
Yes, a 99 makes all the difference there is. It especially does so for my skill, because many people respect and admire the 99 in the skill. Actually, the 99 is worth more than everything else there is to agility for me, because the cape lets people know you have that 99, where having it high but not 99 means that most people will never know. Guest
Honestly the time it takes to get a lvl 99 of course just a cape isn't worth it. They look great and it's much better than what we had before which was nothing
Pandaman115
Why would people spend 2m and 2 hours on a CAPE?! THE OUTRAGE!! [Admin Edit: No naming names in a negative light]
tripsis
In my opinion, it's not all about the cape :? I was interested in 99s before capes were released. To me, it's just about the satisfaction of having completed a skill to the point where you can no longer level up. Sure the capes are nice because it draws some attention to something other than your combat level (since before skill capes, that was the only way you could find out what skills a person had without looking them up).. but I just like the satisfaction of having maxed out a skill (level-wise). - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog
