skill capes realy worth all the effort?

i know lots of people probably already discussed that in real life or runescape or what ever but i think its a good idea to discuss here too...do you think its worth it to get a skill like craft fm herblore wc mining fishing etc to 99? just for a cape? a cape! an emote and thats it! i mean after 90 craft its not worth training and the diffrence between 80 fm (pyre magic logs) to 99 fm is nothing!!!! nothing!!!! and someone with 99 mining mines as good as someone with 85 mining same for wc so what do you think? just for a cape and emote and a hood? get 99? really worth it?

A Skill cape trimmed has stats comparable to a Fire Cape, and if you pick the two easiest 99's (Cooking where you can stay even, and Firemaking only losing 1.7Mil at the least) then you spend a little bit of time, and don't have to have the combat skills necessary for the Fire Cape.

 

 

 

A fire cape takes money to get the supplies to beat Jad, and the skills. A Skill cape (t) just takes a little bit of determination and a lot less money.

Training slayer, i still prefer fire cape over trimmed skillcape, but places like KQ, DK, I take trimmed skillcape due to the better prayer bonus. :P

 

 

 

Yes, skillcapes are worth the effort, if you like +4 prayer bonus, while fire cape only has 2.

What's wrong with it? Nobody is forcing you to get 99 in a skill you don't like. I got 99 mining because i have always been interested in that particular skill myself.

u kno its easier 2 get high total by raising ur lower skills i mean it wud takes like 2-2.5 wks 2 get from 98 in a skill 2 a 99 but rly easy n takes less than 20 secs 2 get from 1 to 2 so i dont think ppl who get 99 in a skill do it 4 total -.-

Actually skill capes were a pretty smart idea on Jagex's part. As you mentioned, there are several skills that offer no benefit whatsoever after a certain level (82 Herblore, 80 Firemaking, etc.). With Skill capes. Jagex has given people an incentive to get 99 in these skills, but at the same time, Jagex still has the ability to expand these skills in the future.

There is a difference between for example 85 and 99 Mining. With 85, Runite ores takes atleast 30 seconds to mine, if you arnt lucky. It's faster even with 88.

 

 

 

And are you telling us that there shouldnt be any..99 Crafters for example, because they are maxed at 90 already? Btw just so you know, I got 99 Fletching because I wanted it for the totals, stat and my first 99. I hate people getting 99's they never even thought about earlier, just because the cape looks good.

Just a cape? That cape shows that you took the time and effort (well, not so much effort in some cases) to get that certain skill passed the levels at which people normally stop. When I see certain capes, I think to myself 'Wow, that must be a very good player'.

ppl get skill capes just 2 have skill capes but having fm over 80 or herby over 82 is pointless if u wanna get a skill cape do it with a diff skill like agil 4 example 2 recharge energy faster etc
