well.. i was reading a thread about Fire and how useless it is or something like that in the rants section. anyway then i thought about them poison daggers and then BAM i got a idea.

how about having Fire Daggers.

Requirments:

55+ Fire making

normal Dragon dagger

60 attack to use

The whole idea:

once you got 55+ fire making you light up the dragon dagger and it gets set on fire. the fire last for 10 seconds.

Effects:

once you light the dagger on fire and attack someone they will get a burned and every once a while will lose health like -7.. just like poison daggers but something new to aim at.

to light the dagger on fire you might need to coat it with something (im still thinking of what)

this is an ok idea if you put more thought into it, but theres one nagging question. what about the other elements? just having one is kinda lopsided, dont ya think?

if you had to use a potion on it like an oil then light it it would make sense. There could be a time limit for the flame and maybe, as was said previously, an atni-fire potion for the cure. I think that would work. As long as the damage wasn't some ungodly amount.

maybe silk or something like that you put silk in oil u use tinderbox on it oww yeah and 1 thing you can do it on every dagger just like poision and maybe they also introduce special fire arrows you need to have tinderbox with you you eguip the arrows you attack if you dont have tinderbox nothing will happen but if you have one it will take 2 sec more before shooting lights the arrow up than shoots and potion against it just anti-fire potion

How does 20 minutes turn into 2.5 hours? Was your math perhaps magical math?

It's pointless to light waepons on fire. If you stabb a guy with a sword or dagger there ganna be badly injured or killed and they most likely won even be burned. It also will damage the weapon.

This sounds like good idea ( original too :D ) maybe u could do it like u make fire arrows in Underground Pass? Only There would be a seige weapons shop, where u could buy damp cloths ( the cloth u get from the guy in cave) and also stuff to make balista and catapults and stuff... And one other thing, dont make them burned, have them set on fire, so the cure would be WATER. And have water-filled vials have three uses and a rightclick pour-on-self option.

*phew* I LOVE rambling!

I like this flaming arrows idea. Heck, lighting weapons on fire is not a bad idea.

As for people asking how you can light metal on fire, a lot of the game makes no sense.

you should be aloud to maic enhance weapons. Imagine haveing regular weapons with extra fire/ice/lightning/ damage. If any of you have played diablo 2 you know that you can place gems into socketed items to add extra effects. It could be something like that or just a spell that enchants your weapons to add a pernament or temporary boost.

This is a game it doesn't really need to make sense.

anyway

* maybe puting fabric over it and geting swamp tar and making oil and puting the oil on the fabric (like making a oil lantern) will make it easier to light

* it only would last for 10 seconds or else it would get powerful, its one of thoes things were you light it on fire attack someone damage them and burn them and then attack them normally and once in a while they'll lose health

* to cure it you would need to make a special potion

I think beter longer than 10 sec maybe 30 sec because it takes to long other wise

Maybe you can also add flaming arrows to that list. You use a cloth and take swamp tar to the lamp oil guy. He coats either the cloth or the dagger in oil. You can set it on fire afterwards. One piece of "oil soaked cloth" will allow you to light 15 arrows or 1 dagger. To light them, you'll need 55+ fire making and for arrows, some fletching level and for dagger, some smithing level, both of which increase with the level of the arrows and dagger. I think that would be neat.

It is impossible to exaggerate the unimportance of almost everything.

This is Runescape, nothing makes sense hear, like the fact you can eat a shark in one bite, and never get fat, even if you eat 20+ lobsters in 1 minute.

frogie frog your totaly right runescape makes no sense because with crafting you need to use the silver or gold bars on the furnace to craft the into something else you smelt the silver/gold to liquid and you put in a mall very good thats correct but if you go smithing with armour you dont melt the bar but you just make something out of 1 bar and i can tell you its very hard well lets say almost imposible to form a not melted metal
