Well I looked at an old picture I had saved on my computer of the cooking highscores when a friend got up on the top 21. and the all the people with 200m cooking exp changed spots, How does this work?

I know but how did all the people with 200m exp change ranks?

he probably cooked past those other few, or its alphabetically, i did not look good enough to see if it is alphabetically.

Its definately not alphabetically...I just checked...

 

 

 

So maybe some of them really have cooked food (for personal use?) past 200 mill exp and its recorded on their account in some fashion and adjusted accordingly to show on the high scores?

 

 

 

So in theroy some might have "more then 200mil cooking exp"

the way it was explained to me was that 200m xp, is 200m xp, there is no "hidden xp" and the highscores recognize everyone who has exactly 200m xp, as merely 200m xp. So.. there is nothing distinguishing each person from eachother, so when jagex "messes with the lower tables" (whatever the hell that is, im assuming updates the highscores like bug fixes) it puts the names back randomly because it CAN NOT distinguish who got it first.

 

 

 

you have n0valyfe who quit in what? october so obviously hasn't cooked anything, and zezima says he hasn't either. the rank 1 fletcher also quit long ago.. its just something that everyone has to live with, the highscores hop :\

I don't know, but I have always thought that if you cook more food, you go to #1, of course, I think Jagex does it as saying who cooks more often, rather than putting everyone tied with each other like so : 1T, 2T, 3T

i think its meaning that whoever was 1st to hit 200m exp gets st place like a relay race.

Those two different showings of the hiscores vary as we can see by the way that players with exact same xp are shown (200M xp). My experience with the hiscores is that they (intend to) show the player who first reached the limit first, and I believe that that is what is in the picture to the right (those are the current showings btw). The other probably sorts by player-id or something, and might be because some programmer where messing with the database queries or that there is a default query that somehow got triggered.

which is right: 200000000 > 200000000 or 200000000 < 200000000? The hiscore query doesn't record who got x xp first. Every time a player reaches x xp, all players who had x xp are put in x xp ranks randomly.

 

 

 

The hiscores query isn't designed to work a way with equal xps.

It randomly picks the ranks of the 200m people.

I heard you can get more xp,but that 200m xp just is the cap you can get for hiscores...

nah its just random it changes everyday and eve340 should technically be first cause she got 200m exp first i think

I think that even though the max xp shown is 200m, you can still get more. So some of those people might have 201m while other might have 220... I'm not sure if this is correct, but I've heard this somewhere...

They should fix it in order of person who got 200 million

They shuffle since they can't be separated in any way.
