Short Fuse

Featured Replies

I was wondering how short everyones fuses were. I use to rarely get angry, but now it seems that everything pisses me off. For the first time in my life when someone gets in my face I retaliate.

Example.

I went to spiderman 3 the other night (saweet movie) and this guy next to me kept feeling up his girlfriend. Normally I wouldn't care except I was sitting with my girlfriend and I didn't think that it was very appropriate to do in front of her (let alone in front of anyone). Usually something like that wouldn't get me angry. But to add to that, the guy sitting in front of me was a little cabbage. I was stretching out my legs and I barely grazed his chair, so he decides to turn around and say "wtf!!". I now have permission to royally beat his ass. Granted the guy was probably physically stronger, I still would have one hit K.O.ed him out of pure rage.

Of course I don't want to get into a tussle in front of my lady so I just ignore both the [puncture]s. Now I'm driving home and low and behold there is construction, needless to say my girlfriends directions sent us an hour out of our way. So now I'm snappy and tired. Brilliant.

A little background about myself.

I am the most passive aggressive guy on this planet. I will avoid getting into a fight at all cost, not because I'm scared but because I don't want to hurt someone else and make their life even more miserable (because come on, everybody has a tough life at least sometimes).

This past week I have had this unconstitutional rage due mainly to the fact of a very sexiest teacher. Other issues are included but I like to focus all my anger into this one teacher so I don't take it out on someone who means something to me. He deserves it, he is the definition of any swear word you can think of.

So for the first time in my life I have felt like an adolescent with a very very short fuse, and I'm 18!

How short is your fuse?

I admit to having a very short fuse. I have a low tolerance for people who are condescending, being awkward or trying to get a rise out of me. To be perfectly honest it's my worst personality trait, I've forever snapping at people (most deserve it, but sometimes even I am in the wrong) and falling out with them.

For some reason though, I don't have as short a fuse when I've been drinking which I find strange because you'd expect somebody to have a shorter fuse after a few drinks.

I'm a bit of a short-arse so maybe I've got the old Napolean complex.

Heh, ask my brother about his anger... The other day I stuffed him in basketball and he punched me! He gets mad over the littlest things. Whenever the dogs bark, he goes crazy and screams at them... I'll let him tell you more about it when he gets home from work.

That's not passive aggressive. Passive aggressive is ignoring them and peeing in their coffee the next day.

Anyway, I'm usually a pretty docile buy, but certain things set me off. I.E. crying baby running loose in resteraunt without parent intervention, beggars (rs beggars, not hobos), and yuppies.

Still alive, still alive.

Thats the point, for the first time in my life I'm not being passive aggressive. Though, considering the consequences of not being passive aggressive with a teacher I'm going to have to stick with peeing in his coffee.

normally i pretty fine unless im really hungry, tired, or stressed then i go off at everything, and sometimes i just feel like cursing people out, but only rarely

I am usually very, very slow to anger. But lately I've been stressed out a little because of some phase of life I'm going through. (Everyone faces it, so at least I'm not alone.)

What pisses me off right now is that my son of a [bleep] perverted ex-coach keeps taking perverted pics of my friends (that are girls) and he keeps looking at porn in class! I'm so tempted to use something against him or get some random person that knows a lot about coding to make me a virus and [bleep] hiss [wagon] up! Maybe I can get his comp to crash while he's looking at porn and then report it and then get him fired. I'm so pissed and hate his pediphile [wagon] so much that I am afraid of what I would do.

SWAG

Mayn U wanna be like me but U can't be me cuz U ain't got ma swagga on.

i used to have a very long fuse, then people just kept cutting it shorter and shorter. im a fairly small guy so people would take advantage of that. but this year i ran out of fuse and started to really stand up for myself. ive gotten into 3 fights this year, none my fault, and now people have a grudging respect for me. my fuse right now is none-existent.

Say what you mean and mean what you say because those that matter don't mind, and those that mind don't matter.

I used to be a little hot-tempered, which is why taking up fencing was a great way for releasing pent-up rage.

Since I started working in market research, however, I'm EVEN MORE PISSED OFF AT EVERYTHING.

i have a 20 amp fuse. (kidding, dont get mad at me. it was a joke. laugh and be happy)

your post was hilarious. not that i'm one to make fun of people or anything, but you just made yourself sound like the biggest tough [wagon] ever. you feel good now??

I'd say my fuse is pretty long on a normal day. If someone is being a [puncture] I just use a little sarcasm with a loud voice and be on my way. Like, if I guy is swearing a lot, I'll say (in a slightly loud manner), "I need to swear all the time to get my feelings across." Then I'm fine.

If I'm having a bad day, it's pretty short. If one of my friends says something stupid or wrong, I'll be a jerk. I don't try to, it just happens.

So it all depends on the day.

Very long fuse. I only get mad if my brother breaks/misplaces/mistreats and/or touches my things without my permission.

Whenever I get mad I take three deep breaths and relax my mind.

I have a medium fuse I can get pretty mad pretty fast sometimes

If I'm in a good mood it's hard to make me mad. But any other time you f* with me and I'll explode. When I'm driving I think I spend half my time yelling at the guy ahead of me and at work I want to punch half the morons who come through my line..

You must never be in a good mood then... Any time I say just about anything you get extremely mad at me...

You're just good at pissing me off. Trust me, there's some people I couldn't bring myself to yell at.

I used to have a really short fuse and then I kind of had a thought that changed the way I react to situations. One day I got mad at something really stupid and then I stopped, calmed down, and wondered why I got mad at such stupid things when everyone goes through them but only a few actually allow themselves to get mad. Now, when I feel like getting mad, I think about that and give myself a few seconds to calm down.

I havn't been angry in over a year. I don't have the ego, nor the emotional drive for it.

Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

I honestly can't think of many times where I have snappd at a person. Overly sarcastic? Check. Rude? Yeah, probaly a bit if they are agrivating. But actual anger or shouting? Not often man.

Honestly, probaly the last time I've shouted at someone would probaly be when I was younger. As far as those other things I mentioned I am more likely to speak my mind online then in real life, especialy because or the side effects from speaking up to those in "real life". (Not saying this ain't real enough but you get the idea).

However that whole speaking up in public deal probaly is slowly drifting away. I haven't been very agrivated from someone just in a public place personaly (I've been agrivated how people treat each others but none of it effected me) so I really haven't had to try and raise my voice to someone.

I use my sarcasm as a vent for my anger, meaning I never ever snap - I much prefer a smart, verbal put down to a violent nonsensical rant.

Then again, never been in a position where I have to.

Ever saw the movie Falling Down, oh you really should. :P

I've got the same thing sometimes. Most of the time I'm quite easy, not aggrevated 1,2,3. But sometimes, people just get up the worst in me. And I'm having a very, very hard time to keep myself controlled, and sometimes, but rarely, I flip. Never with violene though (well, one or two times about 5 years ago). When I was younger I used to have some problems with my father as well. But that's settled too.

When the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!

Most of the time i'm very laid back, and would go out of my way to avoid a porper row/argument.

Other times I can feel all fired up, and although i've never really snapped at anyone i've often felt like I could if I was pushed.

"Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"

I got both AD/HD and DAMP, so guess how nice fuze i got?

I even take pills for it..

But that was the old days, now i can control my anger without any pills.

Congratulations, Sebbeberg! So many people use "I have ADHD" as an excuse to behave in an inappropriate manner. Well done to you for managing to take responsibility for your own actions. :D

I'm a fairly patient person. I have to be in my line of work. Although, sometimes PMT causes me to turn into monster b*tch from hell. Oh, and I suffer from the occasional bout of road rage. And I guess I'll stand up for anyone (including myself) should they need defending. Apart from that, I'm the epitome of serenity. O:)
