Well I agree with Merc, some people back on scape had so many thousands of posts, and now people are at what, 700+ after 1 week?

700 posts per week = 2800 posts per month = 33 600 posts per year, what spammers

I would have to vote no, but I did value my precious 2800+ posts on scape, for sure, and I was sad to see they got deleted, and now spammers are taking over with so many posts in a single week

If it were up to me I'd ditch the post count. I'd like to see a count that showed the time we have spent browsing the fourms.

I'm not really sure about this.

Hah wow never looked at it like that

I liked having mine, but its not like I'm upset I don't have them anymore, 7/8ths of my posts were in the Arenascape forums anyways,

By the way Merc, not to be a jackass, but if it sounds like you don't care about postcount, why do you put "Posts:7500" in your location? Most everybody here knows you had a lot of posts.

So people remember my name. I guess its habit ;)

I'll take it out then... if it makes my point more certain.

its not that important to me, i just like people to know and hear on what ive got to say about something, i may speak for others sometimes and i am the type of person that would like to be heard.

no I just love to post

How does a profession differ from an occupation?

Not really for me, i just have allot to say

Cheap Clan Hosting, PM me.

It's not important to anyone i think

It's just fun to see that lil number below your name grow and its just cool sometimes u notice how much you have posted and ur like "wow... that much"

so yeah its cool but i would hardly ever spam the forums for post count

Post count isn't everything... But it sure is a lot.

I don't strive to have the most posts, but definately somewhere up there so people recognise me at least.

I have better things to do with my time than spend hours prowling a board posting 5 words on every topic. That's beyond childish.

No, it's not a big deal, but some kind of deal deal anyways.

Reality is hundreds of times more beautiful and more interesting than delusions. Fairy tales just tend to be easier to follow than the wonderful intricacies of life.

dont care much about it

No, it doesn't. I've been a member for 1.25 years now, and I only have a 500-some count cumulatively. Lately, though, I've been spamming (bad me!), not on purpose, but I've been trying to reply to every topic I see. I have to get out of that habit...

handed me TWO tissues to clear up. I was like "i'm going to need a few more paper towels than that luv"

Actually, it kinda is a big deal to me :D I'll take a quick glance at someone's post count to find out what sort of poster they are. Of course, if I see them around the boards a lot, despite a low post count, that's more important :)

Everybody hug and spread the love :D

i think so, it gives you more respect/reputation

This is the attitude that spawns spammers by the bucket load.

Yes, it means everything to me. If I don't get the highest post count on any forum I frequent I feel like I will cry

But, most often it's true. Maybe people spam too much because of it, but there are also intelligent posts.

I remember back about a bit over a year ago, a certain warez site (just to give you an idea... something with a "nova"...) released their forums. I registered the first day, and I posted a lot. It wasn't all spam, but some of it was. But either way, myself (who had the second highest post count) and one other person (who had the highest post count) were asked to become mods by the site admin.

Because of this, I view post count differently. It definately counts for something. Anyone who tells you different is lying. How important it actually is variable by the forum though.

Most places dont grant modship just because of post counts. If they do they risk appointing untrustworthy staff. Here at tip.it the admins only make ppl mods who they can trust and who give the best answers not the most. Quality is better than quantity here. You will NOT become a mod just because yu have the most posts. If that were the case i would have been a mod a looooooooong time ago lol

Those are not the kind of boards i'd want to bother with then. That shows just how good the management actually is.

Sorta yes.

Not so much the count, i just like posting alot while training lol, its something to do i guess,

==ice==

Personally it isn't for me, though I suppose we all get a little egoistic sometimes-how about you? Do you ever judge someone by the how many posts they have?

if it wasnt a big deal for you , you wouldnt make such a useless post
