I finally finished flirting with disaster (expert) on RB1

I dont really get into gaming as much as others so I haven't had the opportunity to play GHWT or other GH/band games. Can anyone who has played it, and other games like it, tell me if Flirting with disaster (definitely my crowning achievement because it took me ages) is comparable with other songs/games.

cheers

What instrument? Guitar, there are tons of other songs that are much harder. Drums, there are tons of other songs that much harder.

The new Wolfmother song "Back Round" was confirmed by MSNBC.com as being on Guitar Hero 5 along with a few new bands. Some of which are good to hear.

[hide=Article]

WASHINGTON - Activision, publisher of the best-selling music game series "Guitar Hero," is looking to expand its audience with this fall's "Guitar Hero 5," with new features designed for casual players and die-hard fans alike.

"We've enhanced the entire experience around social play," said Activision Senior Vice President Will Kassoy. Players will be able to jump in and out of songs and change the difficulty level on the fly. "GH5" will also allow any combination of fake instruments, so if everyone wants to play drums, they can.

For more serious shredders, "GH5" developer RedOctane is adding a variety of challenges that pit players against friends at home or online. One game, for example, eliminates weaker performers until there's only one rocker standing.

"Guitar Hero" is also enjoying its status as a star-maker for bands like Wolfmother, which got a boost when its "Woman" appeared on "Guitar Hero II." The Australian metal band rushed to finish "Back Round" to meet RedOctane's deadline for the new game. "They're just a perfect fit for 'Guitar Hero,'" said Steve Sherr of Interscope, Wolfmother's record label.

Sherr said another Interscope act stands to gain from its first video-game appearance. TV on the Radio is one of the most acclaimed bands in the United States, but its sales haven't kept pace with its critical reputation. "'Guitar Hero 5' will expose millions of people to the band," Sherr said.

Others on the 82-band roster include the usual suspects (Bon Jovi, Iron Maiden, Queens of the Stone Age), some fresh faces (Band of Horses, Arctic Monkeys, Vampire Weekend) and a few classic rockers who are new to the franchise (Tom Petty, John Mellencamp, Elton John).

"Guitar Hero 5" will reach stores Sept. 1, a week before "The Beatles: Rock Band" from rival MTV Games.

Tom Petty's "Runnin' Down A Dream" was played at E3 as well as Arctic Monkey's "Brianstorm"

Party mode looks like a good idea so far. Entering the song at any time, multiple people on the same instrument, etc.

Not too shabby. I wouldn't have some on there, and I would like to have seen some more big names, but it's ok.

EDIT: After reading it again, I'm liking it more and more.

A Perfect Circle (Tool spin-off band I believe but not bad), Beastie Boys, Beck, Deep Purple, Eagles of Death Metal, Gorillaz, Grand Funk Railroad, Jeff Beck, King Crimson, Muse, Public Enemy (with Zakk Wylde wtf lol), Queens of the Stone Age, Rammstein, Rush, Santana, Smashing Pumpkins, Sublime, The Killers, The Raconteurs, The White Stripes, Thin Lizzy, Tom Petty (Heartbreakers listed differently?), Vampire Weekend, Weezer, Wolfmother.

Those are the bands I'm really excited about. Hell of a lot more than WT.

Supposedly TV on the Radio is good, have to look into them.

But once again no RHCP :(

Tom Petty (Heartbreakers listed differently?)

Maybe a hint on a playable character? :o

But, yes, my list is very similar to yours. Not surprising since we have very similar tastes in music.

Not necessarily, that's always done for him/them. It's never just The Heartbreakers.

I know that Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers are never just "The Heartbreakers", but they listed it as

-Tom Petty

-Tom Petty & the Heatbreakers

Which means that there is at least one song from each. So, a regular song and an encore perhaps?

Song Confirmations:

Love & Rockets "Mirror People"

Blink 182 "Rock Show"

Elton John "Saturday Night's All Right (For Fighting)"

Santana "No One to Depend On (Live)"

White Stripes "Blue Orchid"

Wolfmother "Back Round"

Face to Face "Disconnected"

Tom Petty - "Runnin' Down A Dream"

Arctic Monkey - "Brianstorm"

http://wii.ign.com/articles/990/990716p1.html

Some of which I've already posted, but worth a repeat.

The article did raise a concern that I thought of myself when I first read that there could be any combination of instruments at the same time. The screen apparently seemed cramped. I hope they can fix that before the game is released.

I did stuff:

Love In An Elevator - 1st/1st - 446,516 - First FC of this

Complete Control - 1st/1st - 249,816 - This was one more squeeze than 2nd... rather surprising

Personality Crisis - 1st/2nd - 370,619 - Seriously no one tries on GHA

Joe Perry Guitar Battle - 2nd/3rd - 372,050 - First FC... followed two -1s in random spots

Bright Light Fright - 3rd/4th - 215,525 - Ticks are stupid

Talk Talkin' - 3rd/7th - 209,777 - I wish Joe Perry didn't make music.

Rag Doll - 4th/5th - 306,130 - Missed the last squeeze (which I hit the run before), which would've tied for 1st

Livin' on the Edge - 5th/7th - 347,204 - Forgot to go for ticks on this

She Sells Sanctuary - 5th/12th - 384,198 - Missed a very easy squeeze; will redux, just wanted a ReFC before sleep

I do have pics of all, but I don't care enough to upload.

You passed Young Man Blues but not PttS?

EDIT: Woot just FC'd Thrasher solo 2A

Young Man Blues is easy... I can 5* it every time.

Golded Painkiller expert drums first try yesterday with my [cabbage]ty rock band 1 pedal (my Rhythm Maker broke, getting a new one next week). I can FC both the intro and outro solos every time, so if I get consistent at the green roll right before the outro solo (only hard part of the song IMO), I might grind for an FC.

Currently grinding for a Battery drums FC, but I know I won't get it until I get my new pedal.
