I finally beat the game on hard today. W00T W00T!!!

Quick question, how does gh3 compare to the other 2 gh's?

Is gh3 tougher that the other 2?

Didn't play the first, but 3 is harder than 2.

I couldn't play gh2 after playing gh3, the difference in graphics(ps2 to 360) killed me. The second has some great songs though.

STILL can't get past mosh 1 on expert. Last song too. #-o

semi-joke:

buy guitar hero 3. then with the money you could spend on rock band, buy a cheap guitar :D

guitar hero is fun, if you don't think you can suddenly rock out on a real one because you beat medium

real guitar is fun, if you don't think your guitar hero prowess is going to help you

in short- do both

GH2 has harder notes, harder to keep up multipliers etc. However GH3's star power doesn't get you out of the red anywhere near as fast, so it's easier to just get through GH2 on star power rather than skill, than on GH3.

I think GH3 also is stricter about giving 4 or 5 stars.

Dang. I thought that since I am good at a guitar game, I must be pro at guitar. You sure told me.

I played it for the first time in my life at a friend's house... lamest 25 minutes of my life... well depends on the time I built that snow fort out of non-packing snow when I was 6... but, otherwise it was nothing like a real guitar. I play the drums and I have a friend who plays guitar and we often play together.

Otherwise this is my feelings for guitar hero: http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=232

Hah. Those are pretty funny. It's a shame you take them seriously...:|

Beat Metal, which I was stuck on, but now I'm stuck on that Slipnot song, Stricken, and 3s & 7s.

Beat Knights of Cydonia though. Thought it was pretty easy.

Same exact thing I'm having problems with.

I also learned how to strum up and down wih the left hand thanks to Knights of Cydonia. I'm right handed, but play lefty.

Nah, it just gets rather degrading when people constantly talk about Guitar Hero and how Guitar Hero teaches you how to play real guitar and how the only reason people know certain songs is on Guitar Hero, which they use to judge the actual difficulty of playing it, or how people assume that things sound the exact same legato or alternate picked, and so on and so forth.

What I'm getting here is that it's not the game that guitar players don't like, but more the false empowerment it gives to its players that are of lesser mental capacity to realize that a GAME is far, far different from doing something for real.

The FPS analogy is a bit stupid, though, especially since a guitar can be had for $150 and causes nobody harm, whereas firearms cost a sizable amount of money and cause permanent damage to people.

Meh, I have a lot of friends at school who don't play real guitar yet bash Guitar Hero because they think it's a silly game. I quote, "Why would play a game when you could do the real thing?" to which I reply with my FPS analogy. I'm sorry if it's a little extreme but it shuts them up and I guess I've gotten so used to saying it.

A better analogy would be sports games. Like for example, skateboarding games. I'm sure a lot of people play those who won't ever want to try and actually skateboard. It takes a lot of practice and skills to actually do it.

Finally beat The Metal and Black Sunshine on Expert! I'm so freakin' happy!

I beat Stricken on Expert, but Before I Forget, Knights of Cydonia, and 3's & 7's will take a really long time for me to beat :( Any tips on any of those?

I probably won't be playing GH much for a bit because I just got Super Mario Galaxy and an X-Box 360 :-$

Got 75% of the way through Cult of Personality before failing. lol. stupid solo. Only tried it once before getting off, so I figure that I'll beat it in a couple more tries. :)

Gosh....ummm...I barely beat 3's and 7's. Just get used to the progression of chords and you should be fine. Let's see...can't really give much advice for the Slipknot song.

Hope that helped. :anxious:

Save up your star power until the Bridge in Before I Forget, and for a really nooby way to beat it, just play the RB chords. :P You might occasionally try to hit another chord to bump your rock meter up a bit, but it shouldn't matter much.

Haha, that was how I beat Physcobilly Freakout on gh2. :D

I guy I played online nailed the bridge on Before I Forget perfectly, got 98% overall on that song. -.-

But yeah, Raining Blood is still impossible. :(
