Well, that's exactly what I intended to do, aim higher, and I got this...: -22. Missed a sp and messed up in 2 easy places. Easily would of been -10 and 460k easily. That FC was a long time coming, considering how many times I -1ed or overstrummed (generally on *the* note that the bridge ended on, or the one after). I do want to redux for improved score, since I'm horrible at whammy and know I could push it more, but for now I'm pleased. Minus Celsius FC - 274,737 - missed one of the SP activations (due to whammy!) and thus want a redux ;) Radio Song ReFC - 195,463 - reduxed because I can... and it needs yet another redux, because, once again, whammy screwed me out of some good points Ruby ReFC - 205,378 - I think this one was mostly good... I don't remember whether I want to redux this or not :| It just sort of... happened... Take This Life 6 star (6.2) - 459,310 - I could actually FC this... I can do each section individually, but I have one of those horrible tendencies to mess up... (for anyone who doesn't understand the '6 star', at scorehero.com they have an extended star rating system that calculates how many stars you *would* get if it continued to add them based on multiplier... My old score was 326k, so this is a big jump for me :thumbsup: Stupid slips under starpower in Breakneck and Metal Battleground 2 cost me the 415k, but I doubt I'll get anywhere near 450k unless I build up endurance...Ah well, I'll try for 425-430k in a bit. I only tend to double strum on really fast eighth notes, or sixteenths. It's really up to personal preference and how fast you can single strum. As for how to do it, well... just use your thumb and index finger to hold the strum bar, sort of like you'd hold a pencil. As for other assorted advice... I don't really know what to say. I just sort of skipped hard once I figured out how to play and just jumped into expert. Try keeping your index finger on red (use index and middle fingers for green + yellow), and make sure to exploit the hammer-ons and pull-offs. Don't be too heavy with your fingers - keep it light. Figure out how much pressure is needed, and only use that much. Oh, and don't panic. ;) Of course, I guess this advice isn't coming from a master, but hey - I can do most expert songs. :P Sig credit goes to ThruItAll. :D Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Most people down-strum F.C.P.R.E.M.I.X because of the difficult rhythm, and that's a fairly fast song. I pretty much alt-strum everything unless I need to whammy, because I can't whammy that well in my alt-strum position. Well i'm not sure what song your on, since your in GH2, but the only songs that really need alt-strumming in GH3, are songs like One in hard or expert, holiday in cambodia expert, or knights of cydonia hard or expert. Not many songs need it, but its not very hard once you find the right rate of strumming and then you'll be fine. As a side note, I can't get past Holiday in Cambodia for my Expert campaign :wall: .
