~ The Next New Skill? ~

Featured Replies

~I'd really like a slow, slow, SLOW Skill, so that it will take like a year to get 99. That way, the lower-Leveled Players can do the current Skills, while the higher-Leveled ones can try to get 99 in such a SLOW, AGITATING Skill. Yup.~

ummmm ok.... what? that's a really dumb idea... thanks for sharing.... buh bye

Well...most basic skills are already released

i would say something like Investing(NOT merchanting)

Its like you buy a house or a land and you make some good things on it like build things then you sell for more price

Dexterity

-The higher your dexterity, the FASTER you actually run or walk

-Lower time stunned from holding spells and from pickpocketing

-Increases weapon/spellcasting speed (each level is .33%, lvl 99 dexterity would increase speed by about 33%).

Dexterity would be trained by performing everyday events that involve use of the hands or movement of the body, like walking, running, wc, combat, etc.

There are 10 kinds of people: Those who can read Binary code and those who can't.

dexterity autoers anyone?

all u would need is an auto click that walks in circles

u should have to do minigames to get exp for that to make it harder

~Like Salim said, you'd get Dexterity Autoers. Well, atleast they'd give up their precious Yews for a couple of days, but that's not the point...Perhaps make Agility have a greater effect on the Current Skills, rather than add a new one?~

Our_Moon.png

No, I don't think there would be dexterity autoers. The majority of autoers exist to collect resources to sell for RL money. Dexterity does not involve collecting resources. It's the same reason why no one bothers autoing to 99 agility.

I honestly do not want a new skill 23 is plenty. Jagex should instead just add new features to the current skills.

~Does Agility currently provide anything sellable (as you say?) No, i think not. Dexterity, the way it is currently being described leads be to believe that with a high Dexterity, you can get sellable resources faster. Then again, most Autoers would look less like Autoers, if they have a ranked Skill...But maybe 99 Dexterity and 99 Woodcutting/Fishing/Mining would be a give-away. Most Autoers are cut down, by the way, before they even reach Level 99 in any given Skill.~

~As to the no-new-Skill idea...I agree completely! I hate them rushing Skills and then not updating them for over a year (Construction = more Rooms? Please!?!) But what about the 17 people (and thousands more to be) who will reach 99 in all of the current Skills? Won't they get bored and quit? Won't Jagex lose money? By the way, a friend of mine is going for the #18 slot in 3 weeks. We'll see what happens =S.~

Our_Moon.png
w/e, there's too many speculation topics, you can't know, so why bother putting these up?

+1, Posting a topic about it won't make the next skill appear. And the only reason I see why anyone would start guessing was to say to everyone later that they got it right. They'd do this emoticon a few times \' , but no one would really care. Well, after my discussion on the topic, I hope summoning comes next. But I doubt we'll have a new skill for quite a while. *Gets a bag of popcorn and waits for Jagex*

Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.

Well, as of this week, 17 Players have achieved a Total Level of 2277. As they normally do every summer, to keep people playing, Jagex will probably release a new Skill soon. What do you think it will be?

Personally, one of my best friends in RuneScape, Osijek, suggested Archeology. I'd love to see this come out. (See Page 57 of the "Suggest-A-Skill Sticky" in the "Suggestions Forum" on the Official Forums, for more details.)

I just read your friends post. Very creative! I LIKE IT!

IMO Jagex should work on improving and extending existing skills. There is plenty of scope to do this.

Reading through this thread there are really not that many suitable suggestions for a brand new skill, most are really just extensions of existing skills as follows :

Summoning - extension of magic

Necromancy - extension of magic

Swimming - extension of agility

Husbandry (animal keeping) - extension of farming

Dexterity - extension of agility

Alchemy 0 extension to magic

Archaeology - already in the game (sort of) with Varrock museum

Riding - WILL NEVER HAPPEN as stated by Jagex on many, many occasions

IMO the only valid suggestions for new skills are :

Sailing - enable players to construct and sail their own ships. This would also enable Jagex to expand the game more with lands only acessible by water.

Engineering - although I fail to see the point of such a skill

of the 2, IF jagex want to create a new skill then my vote would go to Sailing.

~But think of the work that'd go into making Sailing...Are you guys just in it for POB's (Player-Owned Boats?) I, myself, want more Old Skill updates. I've said it half a million times. They probably won't happen, so out of the New Skill ideas, i guess i'd personally rank Sailing third, behind Archaelogy and Dexterity, respectively.~

Our_Moon.png

They should focus on the ones they have now. They could add way more updates than some crappy skill. :uhh:

I think Summoning or Sorcery (somehow make it not really magic related)

Music...How many people listen to the music that comes with RS? If music became a skill...how could you train it? It would sound terrible and would also make rs look even more stupid.

They shouldnt make new skills for 17 people who have reached 99 in everything. They should broaden the skills that they released and left. I can name a few like agilty, prayer, theiving, firemaking, mining and smithing. They should keep the skills as they are and just update the skills that have been neglected.

I'd say Archeology is a possibility, although they might just add on to the Varrock Musuem

No idea what the next skill will be and i can't actually think of a skill that would be a good addition to the game.

I think the skills like Archaelogy people are reccomending would be rubbish.

Summoning is probably the best bet for a new skill though if any although I think it would be quite stupid and an unfair advantage if it's going to be like being able to summon Lesser Demons to help you fight in the Wilderness.

Summoning was quite popular before...about a year ago

I would quite like to see summoning added, but archeology would be great

But, i reckon they should add POS (Player-Owned Shops) Dont ask me how it'd work, but Jagex figured out POH (Player-Owned Houses) so im sure they cn work this out :XD:

i reckon engineering at this moment in time along with archaeology would be the most likely.engineering could make you build a furnace which allows you to refine and make more intricatand stronger platebodys and more intricate looking armour,or just give more exp.could be like guilded alters to prayer.archaeology-well all i can think about this one is exchanging jewellry and trinkets you find for money but im a little puzzled about what we could do with archaelogy.

anyway just enhance the old skills.level 85 hunter monster, panther?

level 95 slayer monster, spitting hydra at the lunar isle?

soul and death rune crafing?

just throwing my ideas into the mix

~99 Is a nice even, number. (Well, it's odd, but you get it. =) 149 Is a lot more random, even though it's close to 150. I prefer 100's to 150's. And what would that be PER SKILL, over 100M exp?~

Aaaand flaming in 3...2....1...

~Flame all you want; i'll just report you. A Skill like this would keep people entertained for a very long time, thus leaving that very long time open for GOOD updates to Older Skills.~
