Melee is still superior to range, as it should be. Mages on the other hand will get owned by rangers. Triangle is restored.

If you only take into account the 78 range look at it this way.

 

 

 

a lvl 108 ranger should have 99 def 99 hp 99 range and about 80+ prayer

 

IF you disagree type that into a combat calc with 74 att 74 str.

 

 

 

THe ranger was actually a melee pure, that prolly just bought the bow for fun. He was also a prayer newbie, which suggests he is also likely unexperienced pker. Or atleast an un experienced range pker.

What are the chances...

 

 

 

- Someone went pking with a darkbow and 78ranged

 

- That someone let they're prayer drop while pking(Probably turned off pro mel and never had pro item on to begin with)

 

- The person who got the kill just happen to be recording

 

- He also just happen to know how to make .gif picture/videos

 

- And he just happen to post his attention whring all over forums

I went PK'ing with my friend's Dark Bow today. Won two fights, died twice, got one kill. The special attack is 100% accurate, meaning melee'rs can use the bow's special and hit as frequently as a ranger would. The bow is very slow, I've tried many different methods of fighting with it. The best method I found was using the magic shortbow and magic shortbow's special attack. When you don't have enough power to use a special attack, you fire a normal shot from the Dark Bow (dragon arrows or not). It is really difficult to equip the Dark Bow, dragon arrows, and fire the special attack quickly. I seriously doubt this weapon will get nerfed, it's not as great as people think it is. It's like a Great Axe with two separate DDS specs.

Very nice thinking. I'll raise my range to 85-90+ then pwn some noob's that are lotting their piles. When they witch to protect form range, hit 'em with a DDS spec. Nah, JK, or am I? :-k :twisted:

hmmm, methinks the spec is gonna go the way of the MLB, that used to have a spec that always hit, now it has an increased chance - note i've never actually hit with the spec since it changed =p

I gotta say, I do not like the dark bow.

16 hours now... still only 1 bow. Definatey rarer than whip and totally not worth the effort... not by a long shot. :evil:
