slushee Posted June 17, 2007 Share Posted June 17, 2007 alright. so lets get to it. i've been on prescription adderall since i was 7 years old. i have ADHD. [ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adderall ] this year i secretly decided i would stop taking it for a few days and see how it felt...it was great. i would actually eat, i was a lot more social, and felt good about myself. well every morning my mom would lay it out on the table and i would just put it in my pocket when she wasn't looking. one day she found it in my pocket in the washer and she was upset with me. i vowed i would take it and there would be no more problems. well i then thought why don't i just get rid of it at school? i did this. i gave it to several different people. the marking period changed. i met this realllyyy chill girl. she is amazingly good looking too which is a huggge plus. we soon became best friends and hung out regularly. fast forward to 2 weeks ago. i gave her 2 of my adderall because i wanted to get rid of them. okay. i expect her to either use them or dispose of them over the weekend. wrong. fast foreward to tuesday. she gets a pass to her councellor at 12:30 before our P.E. class. (she is in 2 of my classes) she re-joins P.E. at about 1:10 or so i see and she says "KYLE! my councellor saw those adderall hahaha...blah blah" i'm thinking okay nothing is going to happen. [cabbage] was i wrong. she gets pulled out of class by the v.p. okay about 10 minutes later i'm pulled out and they tell me to get my [cabbage] and come with them to the office i'm like god dam they're gonna search and i didnt get rid of my adderall from this morning im f'ed. so we get up to there office and they say to me blah blah you administered adderall to another student? well what can i do lie? i admit to it and they end up drug testing me (all negative btw) call my mom and we now have to goto the police station and i get interagated by the same detective that interagated me when i was picked up for graffiti. he harrases the living hell out of me and gets all the answers he wants. i get my fingerprints done, get sworn at by several different officers while im getting it done ( what the [bleep] are you thinking kid? ETC.) and then they tell me i'll have to go to court and get my punishment (probation whatever) and it turns out i get suspended for 10 days which means i am going to miss 3 days at the begining of next year because there isn't enough days left and whatever. this sucks because i'm obviously not going to be able to see my bestfriend again and i don't know what to do. what am i going to tell the judge? what does everyone think of me? am i screwed for life because this is going on my record? i guess this is just my moment of truth. I was surprised how your mother was forcing you to take those pills and all, I doubt you're very old. Explain to your mom, the judge, or whoever else that you felt completely better when you didn't take them. Tell them that you realize it was a stupid mistake to try to get rid of them by giving them to other students. It may sound cliche or corny or whatever, but honesty is the best policy. And as for people who go to your school, tell them the same thing, if they don't/don't want to believe it, then you really don't need them. Hope everything works out for the better! Why didn't you just throw them away, or do some research, and explain to your mom that you don't need to depend on them anymore? Guest Posted June 17, 2007 Share Posted June 17, 2007 Haha its funny you mention that. A kid in my grade got suspended for two weeks on Wednesday for buying those ADHD tablets off a kid from school. Apparently if you don't actually have ADHD yourself it acts as a substitute for Speed. So him and his mate got suspended for it. Kinda funny considering the kid was a major no-lifer pothead anyway. Around here, it's a normal drug passed around on the streets, and they'll treat it as such there. I think you deserve whatever you get and if you really were best friends with someone you wouldn't give them something that isn't prescribed for them and can potentially damage them. Have some respect for yourself too, you can't just take yourself off medication prescribed to you like that without your doctors advice first. If the meds aren't working for you, talk to your doctor perhaps you've been diagnosed wrong (it happens quite often) and need other meds. Sometimes you need to try so many different things until you find out what's wrong and how to fix it the right way. The problem is teenagers on prescribed medication think that taking themselves off it is the right thing to do. Did you even bother to find out the side effects by suddenly stopping? You have to realise when you have a disorder everyone else that is close to you can see what you can't. You're 16 years old with a disorder NO YOU DONT KNOW WHATS BEST FOR YOU. I really hope you do get your [cabbage] together and grow up. As for every other teenager on this thread thinking it's funny and harsh of his mum and school, you all need a flip upside the back of the head too. My 2 cents worth. Build a bridge and get over it if you can't handle to hear the truth. I'm not nasty at all, I'm telling you how it is I don't sugar coat something that is dangerous to peoples health. On that note I hope you can learn from your mistake, get yourself some help, find out what's wrong, fix the situation and live a close to normal life. The only people who tell you that you can't do something are those who have already given up on their own dreams so feel the need to discourage yours. Really, if he's be on these drugs for nine years, you can't expect him to accept what the authority says regarding them, especially considering he's a teenager. It's only natural to be curious about these things; The grass is always greener on the other side, right? Giving the drugs to his friends on the other hand.. Very foolish. That deserves some punishment. Only because it is against the law and I'll bet the people you gave the drugs to were not totally informed about the effects of them.
