The multiple knives glitch

Earlier, if you had throwing knives in your inventory and had some knives in your equip screen, and you tried to remove the knives from the equip screen it would take up into a new inventory slot, not fall into the pile of knives already in your inventory.

The Mysterious Disappearance?

This is a small glitch that Jagex hasn't yet fixed. Sometimes, when you're doing an animation, if you get the camera angle right, part or all of your player's body will disappear! Common areas to find this glitch are when cooking on a range, smelting ore in a furnace, etc.

The Down-Low About Duping by Iost Iunatic (SixFeetUnder)

duping1.jpg

Here it goes...

I was the person who discovered the dupe and used it, and told like 3 other people, and then it got leaked. If it hadn't gotten leaked, I would be rich and the economy wouldn't suck, and Jagex wouldn't be uber pissed at me. This shall be a historical acount of the third time of duping. Before you begin to read this, please know this had no intentions of hurting the economy, or Jagex in any way shape or form. As for me, I have been banned on every character I own (including ones that did not use the dupe and we're banned out of error. Jagex wouldn't listen to my appeal though). Because of this, I am also quitting RuneScape now. But hey, at least im going out with a major bang. Now, onto the fun/interesting stuff.

duping2.jpg

The way the dupe worked was when in a trade screen it would put up a non-stackable item with an amount of zero, where it would normally be one. This would trick my side into thinking I put up nothing, and the other into thinking I put up one. So really, it's not duping because you don't need one to start with. It's more like "Creation." It also used an item ID. An item id is the number given to an item. No, each item does not have it's own ID. All r2h's are item 81, and all pink hats are item 580. This is why it is extremely hard for Jagex to find out which hats are real and which are fake. Here are some other numbers of items:

580 - Pink Hat

579 - Green Hat

581 - White Hat

576 - Red Hat

578 - Blue Hat

577 - Yellow

1278 - Dragon Square

795 - Dragon Med

575 - Cracker

81 - Rune Two Hander

duping3.jpg

And the next morning. Note that this was my main, who I had NOT logged into at any time during the whole duping dealy so he wouldn't get banned for bug abuse. Well guess what, he was banned. And, he didn't abuse a bug. It tells me to check my message inbox, but guess what, they didn't give me a letter either. Oh well. Probably deserve it.

Just remember, this was all for historical purposes. I now am quitting

runescape. But like I said, I am going out with a bang. Also, I am very sorry to

anyone who may have been hurt by my actions, especially jagex themselves. It was fun while it lasted. Thanks everyone.

The story. Some guy (SixFeetUnder) was playing around with AutoRune (RuneScape cheat), trying to trade a scythe. He failed. During his experiments he found out one rather interesting thing. Any nonstackable item can be created. Well, he got very excited and told 5 other people - me (Kaitnieks), Dylock, g0ne, Aid uand David. One of us couldn;t keep the mouth shut so in the next morning every RS player was crying about duped pink hats sold in Varrock for 5 mill each. Naturally it was just a matter of time for Jagex to find out, so I decided to have some fun. Like we did the other time with banker killing.Even I know that crackers and the silly hats are the most expensive items in the game. So naturally we created those. Oh, two guys also created and alched some kind of expensive shields (I dunno, drag squares or something - hey, don't call me n00b, I finally know where Al Kharid is). They made over 1 billion each. Anyway, here are pictures.

nezinomas2.jpg

nezinomas1.jpg

nezinomas3.jpg

To create items, you must trade with someone. They can give you any nonstackable

item by specifying count = 0. It's fixed by now. Well done Jagex, took you less

than a whole day.

Many people thanked me that day. I'm sure it was good for economy and people who

had no chance to get a silly hat, too bad we didn;t manage to make way more of

them.

The background. Here are some random facts.

1) Hats and other items were created by AutoRune. AutoRune is infamous RS cheat,

you don't need to know much about it, just how Jagex said there are no cheats

for RuneScape. Did they make a mistake or did they lie to you? You decide.

Anyway if someone offers you AutoRune, don't download it, it's not being given

to anyone and what you will be downloading is a keylogger. Trust me, that is so.

2) Almost all players who created items got banned. Someone made 40 mill,

someone almost 100 mill and didn't get banned but most of the accounts did.

Especially those having 1 bill GPs and 100 sets of hats. My personal gain is

some pink hats and ~5k steel bars. Not that much eh?

3) It took several hours for Jagex to figure out the problem and fix it. During

this time they didn't do anything to stop the duping.

4) Jagex could not trace which items are duped and which are normal. That's why

only some items got deleted.

5) The situation in market is very unstable but seems like the rarest hat (pink

one, the most ugly hat) is now one of the most common.

6) Jagex did not roll back. I guess they don't really mind seeing rares becoming

less rare.

7) Andrew doesn't have sense of humor. Mod Mark does. He's the man! But

Andrew... You should all send e-mail to Andrew and tell him you love him, he's

very sad and lonely. Andrew promised Dylock lifetime membership if he helps.

Instead of that he banned his account. Go on, help the kind RS mods, your reward

will be a ban, you know you want it.

Anyway, that was fun. Comments, feedback, thanks to [email protected].

Erm, I have a few minor ones I remember, don't think anyone mentioned them.

Back in RSC in a corner outside of lumby castle a zamorak mage (lvl 47 I believe at the time) just spawned there. It just... was there, facing the wall. I know you couldn't kill it... but I think it could kill you. Stupid people did die from this bug.

Also I don't think this would count since it was during the Rs2 beta but me and my buddy had fun with it. If you failed during the trawler event, you were put out into the ocean, swimming... now er, I don't remember (it was over 3 years ago) exactly how it worked with you exiting the sea, but I remember when you ended up on land you could 'swim' throughout RS

I remeber the falador massacre. i was one of the guys killed. i had bbeen player killing and when i tele'd to fally to bank my spoils i got killed before i even left the square since i had under 30 health when i tele'd

Ive seen the vengeance bug!

some guy cast it on himself while fighting black drags in evil chicken lair. To my amazement he hits a 180 on the dragon!

there is still a glitch were if u put on any prayer and switch to ur emote tab and select an emote u cant do u dont lose prayer until the messege goes away

I'm sure everyone knows about the glitch that allows you to leave ardougne zoo as a gorrila, but one guy went a lot farther then ardougne limits! He managed to get all the way to catherby before he stopped. I remember in the picture there were like 50 people following and a lot of wanna-be mods saying, "Reported." I can't see how this is going to enhance or worsen anyone's playing. It's Monkey Madness!

EDIT: Just got this one. If you ahve an evil chicken, run away for a bit, then run back, the chicken wil lbe there but it won't be aggresive. I did it while cooking lobs in Al-kharid range. I did 2 and a half loads of lobbies (includes running back and forth between al-kharid bank) before it dissapeared. Someone was begging me to kill it but why would I kill a chicken that didnt do anything to me?

I believe that was me lol, i went to seers bank took a pic, than went all the way to fally before messing up and turning back into human, lol. Got a picture of it on my other computer.

I never got any black marks btw :]

What about the duel arena bug?

You trade someone and then lean on the wall. Then they accept the trade and you decline causing you to lean over whilst walking around.

It was taken out though

i was in the brine rat cave killing for slayer, when i got up to go get a drink, i happened to get a random event while i was away, and it was niles. He teleported me away and at the bottom of the screen it claimed that the "Brine rat" said "fine, dont talk to me then". lol

~Tea, tea, beautiful tea~

A bug from 2006 made it so whenever you drunk tea it would restore your hp and stats to full. This bug was heavily abused in places like KQ, KBD, Jad, and Chaos Elemental. Players would stock up on tea, then go out to fight these bosses. When their hp got very low, they drunk the tea, then they were full on hp and everything again. Jagex later removed it in a weekly update.

Wrong. It wasn't regular tea. It was Guthix Rest tea, and the glitch was that because it restored your hp over it's maximum (you could drink to +5 over your hp) whenever you drank it, it would refill it to your hp + 5.
