I'm probably stage 8/9 now.

 

 

 

6) Maturity Then perhaps comes the end of the "newbie" stages. He learns that if he wants to survive in the community he must use proper grammar, spelling, and have excellent sentence structure. Not only that, the player starts acting more mature. Other players respect him more, and may recognize him from a fansite. He is more determined now, more determined to be the best. That means longer and harder goals, reaching for the higher levels. The urge to let his total level and his bank value grow arises.

 

I'd say a good 5-6% of RS players actually go through this stage :lol:

Unfortunately if the player does not mature the community will not give fully give him the respect he deserves. I see alot of players on RSOF who are just staying put in the low stages.

 

 

 

 

 

I'm glad to see everyone is enjoying my article. I might add some more information to the stages soon, I see a couple suggestions on this topic already.

i think im on 8 i keep going to do random stuff like hunting chompeys and quests. but i dont think ill quit any time soon, well hopefully anyway.

I am between stages 7 and 8. I'm just trying to find something to do so that I don't get way to bored with my rs career, because as I look back on it, it has been fun. Idk, the quitting time will come soon though, I can feel it in my bones.

I'm at stage 6.

I guess... stage 8, although I'm not really doing anything about it, so really going into stage 9.

 

All because I had exams all of last month, so I didn't renew my membership and since exams have finished I said I wouldn't become a member again until I firstly reach 70 Runecrafting in F2p (done) and then burn the spare 4k Willows in my bank because I don't want to waste membership days doing it..

 

So far I've been burning those logs for.. 2 weeks.. :-s

 

 

 

Heh, once I'm done I'm sure I'll become a member again and hopefully go back into stage 6.

I'm at 9 right now...F2P can do that to you. *sigh*

 

 

 

But I'm getting P2P back soon and I'm probably going to jump back to step 5. Woot! :D

Im not sure everybody went through those stages, I mean, when I first played I did no exploring, I spent my time leveling mining and smithing. I always typed as well as I could (thats not saying much though). And I knew that people were behind all the characters with the weird names. I guess it probably works well as a generalization though.

im between 7 and 8

I'm in stage six now. I sometime end up in stage eight but after two or so weeks I end up addicted as ever.

I've been stuck at the end of Stage 6 for at least a year. I've been trying to reach my goals and getting my levels up. I have most of my RS life used proper grammar and spelling though. Nice topic idea mate.

I didn't include a stage 10 because the aftermath of totally quitting runescape varies for alot of people. Most people do, though, find a new game to get interested in. I know a few former runescape players who found WoW to be alot better.

I've gone through all of that. I'm just trying to raise up my skills now, which is Stage 7, I believe. :-w

Great job of analyzing the stages. I'm pretty sure that this is true for most rs players, its definatly true for me

Reminds me of my Runescape nubbie days.... I found a couple friends, and we were working together to get food for each other and kill goblins for money... Good old days :boohoo:

A few months ago I started to stop shortening words, and improved my ingame grammar. I used to get in trouble all the time for doing immature stuff.

 

Then, I suddenly stopped. The only shortenings I use today is "cuz" and "plz". If Im in a rush, I might use others.

 

 

 

However, I never felt the "urge" to lead anything, and I'm having ALOT of fun at RS, and dont feel like quiting at all.
