well no, why?

1 reason: powertraining!

slayer is currently the only skill which is "impossible" to powertrain by doing 1 thing over and over and over again..

with slayer dart you will get people who will do the dart continuasly at something like the hob goblins just to train slayer.. And slayer will become another buyable skill

First they came to fishing

and I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing

Then they came to the yews

and I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews

Then they came for the ores

and I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores

Then they came for me

and there was no one left to speak out for me.

IMO, the solution to this is to have all Slayer Monsters give reduced amounts of exp outside of Slayer tasks. That way, maybe people would start gaining personal experience in combat, instead of levelling up to Level 100 at PC, watching YouTube videos and whining on here when they get killed by Jad through purely a lack of personal experience. <.<

This is true, but remember, death runes arent easy to come by as a mid level player. Those who wish to powertrain will prob. be those with lots of cash to spend...It would make slayer a hefty amount of cash.

No. If you're not on task, why should you get experience for casting a spell?

(It's also not very hard to make Natures/Laws and trade for Deaths, either.)

no.

no, no, no.

think about it. Some rich guy gets 55 slayer, and starts training with only magic dart. This would obviously give the rich YET ANOTHER advantage over the not-so-rich. At 55 slayer, they'd never have to do another slayer task again.

A good idea, though, is that you could get extra slayer exp for using magic dart on a slayer task.

hmmm, i thought this was debate club, but all i see are one sentence answers. :-s

Anyways, on to the purposal at hand, slayer dart - give slayer xp or not. Well, since slayer is probably one of the most difficult skills to train, i can see where you stand. I remember when i got 55, and then i though, man, that was tough. Well, it should be. Many people use slayer dart not just for slayer, but for barrows, DK trips, metal dragon hunting, and many other various tasks. This would give them many thousands of slayer experience, and not even have to go to a slayer master at all, completely defeating the purpose of slayer. So, here is a quick example.

Player A gets 55 slayer, but wants 85-90 for some obvious reasons. Player A reads that slayer dart gives slayer xp, and wants to train slayer with this. he buys up enough runes for 500 casts of slayer dart, and heads to barrows. using the chest runs, Player A is able to recycle the runes in the chest, and continue gaining slayer xp, while getting rich off barrows drops. Even at 1 xp per damage, this would be bad. it would be just like hp leveling, and people don't hit only ones with slayer dart. they hit up to 19s with it, so that is possible 19 exp per cast, which 500 casts could possibly be almost 10k slayer xp.

The Main reason this can't happen is because slayer is about going to slayer masters to train it with tasks. If slayer dart gave slayer xp, it would just be another secondary skill, and would level as you are doing random things, like the things i mentioned above.

I also don't like this idea. It would completely defeat the purpose of Slayer training. However I do like the idea of getting extra slayer exp if you use it on a slayer task :) That makes a little more sense, and it would be me some initiative to actually use magic. Right now, I never use magic unless I have a few things to high-alch here and there....

even if the topic is bad, you should at least put some reasoning behind your answers, or then its not considered a debate, just a rant

Nope, in all fairness, an incredibly bad idea.

Once somebody hits 55 slayer, they can then just power train slayer and magic in a 'high-alch' esque fashion, but 2 skills instead of one. Infact it would be worse, because of auto cast. Set your charecter up on say a black dragon and afk your way to 99 slayer and magic :shame:

I would be good however, if using slayer weapons, Broad arrows, leaf bladed spear etc on slayer assingments were they are required would give additional slayer exp. Finally people would be killing turoths and other slayer monsters like them.

I hope that an admin bans you for that comment. Besides, all I've ever seen you contribute is garbage.. Go back to trying to steal peoples' items at the DKs, you pathetic fool. You aren't welcome here.

On topic: I like the idea of getting additional slayer exp for using the Leaf Blade/Broad Arrows/Slayer Dart, WHEN ON A SLAYER ASSIGNMENT. You should get 1 exp per damage with those, so that if you had a dust devil assignment and killed them with only broad arrows, you'd receive 210 slayer exp per kill instead of 105. Oh, and they would need to increase the shop price of the spears and arrows, and slightly increase the spell cost to help balance it out.

I disagree. The spell should only give slayer exp if your doing a slayer task. if your just killing monsters... why get slayer?

tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :(
But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities.
That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Those PETA bastards will never see it coming until the porcupines are half way up their asses.

Slayer should remain a difficult skill to level. If someone wants an "easy" 99 they can go hunting or fletching.

That said we should not turn a blind eye to improving slayer. Slayer could be made even more attractive by making special slayer drops that could only be used by people with a certain level of slayer, similar to needing to have slayer 55 to do magic dart.

We have the abyssal whip. A wonderful weapon. Although it only drops from lvl 85 slayer monsters, the abyssal demons, a person with slayer lvl 1 can use it.

Why not make a high level slayer monster that drops a wonderful piece of equipment that can only be used at a high slayer level. Let's say it drops at 90 and you need slayer 75 to use it.

Or you can buy the piece of equipment from any slayer master, like the slayer staff, but can only use it at a certain slayer level. And maybe a quest to unlock it?

This will stimulate training slayer. It will also give advantage to people who invest time to train this difficult skill.
