Did I draw a short straw here?

Futurama

I'm sorry that you seem to be offended by what I've said and I take it back now that I understand your situation but if you were more accurate in what you write (you can re word what you've written without adding personal details) then we wouldn't be having this discussion right now. The way you wrote it spells out bad things for you, whether you like that fact or not.

I also said you sound like a spoilt brat, I never directly called you one. I also asked you a question about your relatives, I didn't make a statement. I'm quite careful when I label things.

There is a positive in every negative. I believe your parents believe in your expertise in music so much that they don't feel the need to help you. You can look at it this way, perhaps your parents feel that your brother needs his foot in the door, as yours has already kicked the door open.

People pay me to stop singing and get off the stage so by all means, you're doing better than me in that department :P

You're right, it's not your problem, so please don't call me a spoilt brat in the first place. The reason I didn't write it is because i'd prefer to keep the details to myself, yknow? I don't wear my heart on my sleeve and I especially don't do it on internet forums.

So why did you just tell us everything then? Could have just ignored what she said...

True - but it's easier to just sort it out. Also saves having someone else come along repeating the entire thing.

That is beautiful Robert, I almost cried.

You know the feeling of euphoria when you hear the right song, at the right moment and it moves you in a way that it sends a shiver down your spine and the hairs on your arms stand to attention?

Simply beautiful, now I know why you didn't get the money. You don't need it, you will double it =D>

"One day I hope to write a song not that changes somebody's life, but when they hear it, changes their mind about someone, or something, or helps them make a decision that eventually results in their happiness; and one day, when they listen back to that song, they remember that it was there in their time of need. That, I believe, is where the true power in music lies."

I believe you just accomplished that.

What is EMA?

^^

Really wondering what that is... I need quick cash!!

Stands for Education Maintanace Allowence, if your family earns below a certain level per annum then you're entitled to up to ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã30 ($60) per week if you keep your attendance up to 100%.

I hate EMA, I was meant to get it, but because the government are so stupidly bureaucratic they wanted forms which my family simply didn't have and wouldn't get until it was to late to start getting the damn thing.

I can see how you'd be annoyed, but it's not that bad to be honest. ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã2k is more than I've ever had and I started working by doing a few hours a week cleaning (other people's houses) with my mum when I was 13..

Why, is it my problem the young man hasn't typed the full story? I'm sorry but I call a brick a brick and by how that is written, that is exactly how I've interpreted it.

Want a better reply? Write a better descriptive scenario. I'm a hard critic, such is life.

I'm sure if the young man told this 'whole story' properly, I would gladly show a little sympathy and a few words of comfort.

Lol his post was about the will scenario, not why he has only gotten his first part-time job at the age of 18, was it not?

I'm sure he would of told the "full-story" but he wouldn't of suspected a verbal attack and didn't actually need to write the full story? =;

And to Futurama, yes you did get the short straw, but be greatful you got anything, alot of people lose loved ones and do not receive a thing, apart from sadness. But aside from that, it is very unfair, I don't think it shows favouratism though, as your brother is older, has a gf and wanted to move out.

Have you talked to your parents about it?

I'm hard to please Zep, I have an opinion on everything :) It wasn't a verbal attack, it was questioning pretty harshly he he

You're right though, have you tried talking to your parents? Sometimes talking can fix a lot too.

Seeing as your brother wanted to move out with his girlfriend, that's probably the reason why they're helping him out. I'm sure if you wanted to move out they would help you too? (I'm hoping here). They probably have something stashed for you, when you're ready to leave the nest as a surprise.

I guess as Zep suggested, just ask them. They can only give you an answer, even if it's not a happy one you have closure on the matter with an answer.

Your parents probably have no idea that you're feeling like this and didn't intend to make you feel this way; I'd give them the benefit of the doubt until they give you some answers.

OT: futurama, i just listened to your music and loved it. i think you have a nice future in the music industry.

ontopic, however, i agree with goddess, your parents probly gave the money to the son they felt needed it more, and may or may not know you feel upset about that. you might want to broach the subject with them, saying something like- " you know, dont you think you should divide up this stuff equally between us?" or something along those lines.

OF course that mother is badly crazy,

but I dont understand why the 22 year old girl wants to live with and have sex with the 13 year boy, just because he is lvl 126 or something?

Now you have to opportunity to earn more money, while your brother won't develop the same work ethic as you will, because he might assume that life will continue to be handed to him on a silver platter. He will soon need to get a real job, and yours will probably be much better, and eventually you will make a lot more than he did.
