Sig by me....

This is a real story my mother told me, and she's really not the kind to lie.

My mother was driving with her first husband on a small highway towards the city where they lived. They were ~20 mins away from home. Then something weird happened. Nothing particular caracterised this event. In a blink of an eye, they were an hour away from their city in the other direction, without having any memory of driving there. The clocks marked 80 mins later, 80 mins which they had totally no memory of. This leads me to conclude that:

- They passed through a portal

- Or, they were abducted by aliens and have "missing time"

The first option is more likely, since they did not have any bruises, cuts or traces of any kind like most people after an alien abduction have. Or, they were abducted by gentle aliens who did not do experiments on them.

Example:

[car after weird event]----------------60 mins--------------[city]-----20 mins-------[car before weird event]

Obviously you were a start on your high school track team in the Long Jump to Conclusions event. I mean, you go right to portals and aliens without considering the fact that they just dozed off, forgot, were intoxicated, were simply so wrapped up in the current events that they didn't realize that they'd driven too far the other direction, had a bug with the clocks in their car, which happens sometimes; or any other number of logical conclusions? I mean, sure it's odd, but you could try considering logical explanations before you jump right to "z0mg portals and aliens!!!"

Lmao, so random :P

Quite a few years ago, when pokemon was still huge, I was fooling around with my brother and put a chansey card on top of his head. It then fell off, and we couldnt find it anywhere. It just completey vanished, and we havnt seen it since.

Weve got a new sofa now (because it happenned by our old sofa), and I think they ripped the old one apart, and I dont recall them saying anything about the card  [/b]

You speak of jump to conclusions? VERY ironic. The amount of evidence to prove the existence of alien entities is astounding. You'd know that if you weren't 'jumping to conclusions'. Unlike you, I've done several days of research on internet and documentaries to examine the evidence about aliens, and come to the conclusion that they indeed exist, a reflected opinion. It's not because you speak through your hat that everyone does, mr. smarty pants. Really young man, you are not worthy of my time.

Taking into account how vast our universe is, it is pretty [bleep]ing stupid to believe we are the only form of intelligent life.

Well, given the vast size of the universe, what makes you believe there's any intelligent life near us?

Using aliens to explain any strange phenomenon is just... Unbelievable.

No duh there are aliens. Thank you Einstein.

His statement wasn't ironic in any way, shape or form, so I don't know where you're getting the idea that it is. Seriously, shut your frikking trap with the obnoxious condescending insults, and think logically for a second. Is it not possible that they dozed off while driving? I've dozed off plenty of times while driving, and my body pretty much drove automatically. I'd come to later and have no idea where I was or how I got there. Sounds a lot like your mom's story; is it not possible, before we start talking about "portals" and "alien abductions"?

Yes, but according to estimates I've read, it is not all that likely that aliens are going to find us, nor us them. Sure, it's near impossible for their not to be intelligient life somewhere else in the universe, but the universe is a big place, and the criteria for a life bearing planet are pretty specific :| .

I'm with Flametrooper in this one- let's eliminate the logical explanations before we start talking crazy.

Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

As I said, my opinion is a reflected opinion. Rebdragon, if you don't like it, live with it. I doubt you have done as much research as I have on this subject, and honestly, I really don't care what you think.

This forum falls lower with each passing day. I did not post my mother's story to get myself flammed, but simply to give my account and opinion. Really, you people need to learn some respect, and learn to do critizism on the opinion not the person giving the opinion.

Were you smoking something illegal?

Please, someone, read my post and tell me where I criticized him, or even talk about him at all, rather than his opinion. I can't find anything, other than a request for the flames to stop directed at him. Calm down :| .

Honestly dude, wake up on the wrong side of the bed or something? I never attacked you at all, I just followed with the general rule that the logical more obvious answers should be completely ruled out before one goes into more supernatural and rare guesses (if that point should ever be reached). Were you there when this happened, thus having first hand experience? Or did you just know it by ear? The more information you supply, the more we can examine and decide which explanations fit and which don't.

-Though, as a side note, I was just wondering what this research you did involving aliens encompassed? Just curious, is all.

You have a portal in your house an dI have a stargate in my bedroom :ohnoes:

Id consider ghosts befor portals myself... ::'

Until portals and aliens appear in front of me, im not gonna believe in them, im not one to go on hearsay "I saw an alien" "Flints fell from a portal" etc etc if there's aliens and they're friendly (as most people believe aliens to be), why arent they popping up to say "Hey dude wanna go get high?"

They could make a bomb on that inter-galactic weed

addymrune,drennan.gif

Was the package of flints sticky? Was there tape on it when they fell?

Because if so, and you have a brother or sister or someone who likes to play pranks on you, they could have thrown them up against the ceiling.

(I know, that may be a weird idea, but it's my solution.)

Rcty

Dude, I'm not saying aliens/portals don't exist. I'm saying just consider other options first, don't jump right to that. Same goes for the flints thing.

(They could exist, but for one thing I don't see why they'd care to abduct one car, with some people driving in it, and then just put it down unharmed, somewhere else. Alien college students? Aliens pranksters? Drunk aliens? I mean, aren't govnt. officials better abduction targets? :?)

Taking into account how vast our universe is, it is pretty [bleep] stupid to believe we are the only form of intelligent life.

Thank you for the compliment. I never said aliens don't exist. I said try considering other possibilities. Read what I wrote above.
sig2.jpg

kids... there is no doubt that aliens exist. the question is whether they know about us or not.

fishing.gif

I'm disagreeing with the majority here and say that I don't think aliens exist. Especially all the stories about little green guys in flying saucers. Most of the pictures taken of alien spaceships are are false, and most of the people who are "kidnapped" just want attention. Also, stuff like crop circles have logical explenations. A group of guys in England figured out how they were made. Anyways, if aliens come to earth as often as people say they do, why is there no solid proof? I guess what I'm really saying is that if "intelligent life" does exist out there somwhere, it has never been to earth.

[hide=Kinda like this one]Why did you click that?! You sicko. :-X [/hide]

Simple: Someone glued them to the ceiling as a prank earlier and then they fell on your head.(you probably made up that boom)
