megakiller32
I was going to do the exact same thing, but i read that its incredibly noisy and breaks almost constantly  Quit Runescape 30th May 2006.Thanks to Hawkxs for my signature :)
blade995
breaks almost constantly That's untrue. They do break but not constantly as you may think, even if they do, Microsoft will fix it for free and even pay for shipping. I think you should get a 360 because the awesome games like Gears of War and GTA4 when it comes out.
Macmaster92
Oh so now we are not getting systems because they are noisy? Please. I think you should get it .

whocares
I was going to do the exact same thing, but i read that its incredibly noisy and breaks almost constantly  I've had mine for over a year and it hasn't broke. Plus, Microsoft extended the warrenty to 3 years, so that shouldn't be a problem.
underu2000
It does get noisy sometimes when initially started up, but it fades off. Or maybe its just me not realizing it... And don't sweat the break-down thing, the warranty has you covered. It doesn't really break-down like you may hear anyway. I've had mine for half a year and its fine. Life is a joke. Yeah, I don't get it either.
Riku3220
its like a baby waking up from a nap. as soon as it wakes up its noisy and then soon it quiets down
Pivotto
I would say get it. It has a very large and good library of games already out, and if you watch the Microsoft E3 Press Conference on Gamespot, you will see a lot of great games that are coming to the Xbox, plus all the ones shown at the conference are coming this year! EDIT: And if you didn't know, I have one. I love it :).
Aka_Chao
I was going to do the exact same thing, but i read that its incredibly noisy and breaks almost constantly  It doesnt and its just the fan thats connected to the powercable that makes the noise but it isnt noisy as such your tv volume at a normal level would be louder. Ive had mine 6months played it 7-8 hours a day i even dropped it once and its still working fine. They are amazing consoles and i think you should get one. limpbizkit
It is an awesome console worth every penny. If you treat it properly it will NOT break. Only problem i had was with oblivion but im not gonna complain about a bit of noise... Tif 360 MGC Leaderboard
aquariusman
It is a great consoole. But what you really have to decide is if you'll want to spend the $5-10 (?) a month for Live. It just about adds twice the content for many games, with the ability to play over Live. Not to mention the Marketplce, but that's free to get access to. Live is definitly worth it, especially if you have a alot of friends with 360's. Actually, that is the entire reason why I bought my 360. I had a good amount of friends with a 360, all of whom had Live. Then theres the games like Gears of War, the Halo series, Project Gotham and so much more. In other words: WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR????!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!! There's no such thing as regret. A regret means you are unhappy with the person you are now,and if you're unhappy with the person you are, you change yourself. Thatregret will no longer be a regret, because it will help to form the new, better you. So really, a regret isn't a regret. It's experience. Goldenjkered
My xbox broke (the disk tray wouldn't open and the console kept crashing every 10 minutes), but microsoft's warranty basically means, the place or store can replace the console without any hassle. I just got my new one yesterday and it's working fine. Be sure to get Live as it's great and not that expensive. There are a awful lot of noobs on live though. Retefael
I just got mine two weeks ago, and I cannot complain. Has not broken down once, works well, and is less noisy than my room air conditioner. Even so...get it. Cheaper than the PS3, but it does have some awesome games. I don't run races to see who's the fastest, I run to see who has the most guts. -PreCurrently the best beat out there:Minuit jacuzzi (DatA Remix) - TEPR

wakka102
definitly get the Xbox 360, NOT the PS3, simply because the PS3 currently does not have any good games coming out (that aren't coming out on the Xbox) and I don't foresee them getting any anytime soon (at least not many). Xbox 360 already has several great games out, most notably for me was Dead Rising which I still believe in the best game out for the system currently. I recommend that game to anyone that likes thriller games. Microsoft is working hard to fix the problem with it because they have already lost 1 billion dollars and counting. If they haven't fixed it by now they will soon plus it has the 3 year warranty so theres nothing to fear.

(unlimited shots basically, and you can like 3 hit any of the bosses with it lol). Did I meantion the bosses? it has the coolest boss fights of any game I've ever played, along with really awesome death sequences for them when you beat them. Most of hte boss fights are optional and its easy to miss a lot of them but you can replay the game and always find something new.

speedofsound
Out of all the next-gen consoles I would recommend the XBOX360 the most. I have one and have tried the other consoles and I can say honestly that I have liked the 360 the best. On some games like oblivion it is loud but thats easily overlooked because of what a great game oblivion is. Besides that, yeah it has some noise but not much. I ran my 360 for 5+ hours straight, without it breaking or getting louder. Like others said, they arn't as prone to breaking as the internet woul dhave you think. Mine hasn't broken once. A freind of mine got the red light of death while I was over his house, but we just rebooted it and it was working fine again. I'd say, buy the premium edition because if you buy the standard, then buy everything that comes with the premium edition you'll be paying more than you would be then if you bought the premium edition, itself. Better yet, if you can buy the elite. The intercooler is a waste of money imo, because in my experience, with a freinds Xbox360, it doesn't make it much quieter, if at all. The faceplates look nice but at $20 dollars USD I don't think it is worth it. In regards to games there are a lot of good ones out, and a lot of good ones to come! Some of my favorite games out now are The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, Gears Of War, and Dirt. Some games I'm looking forward too now are: Assassins Creed and Mass Effect Good Luck with your descision. You can't ever find a place that's nice and peaceful, because there isn't any. You may think there is, but once you get there, when you're not looking, somebody'll sneak up and write "(bleep) you" right under your nose. Try it sometime. I think, even, if I ever die, and they stick me in a cemetery, and I have a tombstone and all, it'll say "Holden Caulfield" on it, and then what year I was born and what year I died, and then right under that it'll say "(bleep) you." It's still very small though.
