[hide]So, About 4 hours ago I boarded the Sea Princess for 2 weeks of mediterannean (sp?) cruising. And being the internet addict that I am, I found the nearest computer and payed for a shedload of internet time and came here.

 

 

 

Since i've never been on a ship for an extended period of time I thought it would be fun to keep a record of what I do.. and since this is the net.. I guess you'd call it a blog, of sorts.

 

 

 

I'm gonna upload pics daily (ofc i'll black out faces to keep with the no rl pics rule) to share my experience with the lot of you. I'd love to hear from any ppl who've been on a cruise before or hear any ideas of what to do. Aside from 2 weeks of sunbathing, glorious as it may seem it'll get boring after a day or two, theres a 'teens club'.. frankly i'd rather jump off the boat and drown than go there.

 

 

 

Its $0.75 a minute for internet access and I dont think my parents would take too kindly to having a whopping great extra to add to their bill. So as much as i'd love to sit on deck with a laptop and surf all day... I cant.

Ok. Picture time! I have to keep to the No RL pics rule and having looked through the photos, a lot of them contain all of my family.. so there wont be that many.. And no pictures of fit girls swimming (sorry but i dont want to get arrested / beat up)

 

 

 

 

seriously.. how badass is that. Its a huge cinema screen, with huge speakers, and its next to a pool, and a bar.

My advice though is to stay off the internet and just post pictures later. Your parents are spending a lot of money for the trip so don't waste time going online when you can do that at home. There's always something to do on a cruise. Take full advantage of the never ending food supply, all the things and activities on the cruise to do, and have a great time.

Its actually suprisingly easy to get pics up here. Each computer in the suite has the right card slots to upload them which i was suprised at. But then again.. This boat has EVERYTHING. You can call any time 24/7 and get any food available from any of the restaurants delivered to your room. I will gain between 2-4 stone on this trip.. guarunteed. 24 hour buffets and free room service are the devil. :thumbsup:

I like the Norweigan Cruise Lines. I've been on 4 cruises before. Meditteranean(sp?), Mexican, Panama Canal, Carribeans.

Day 1, Bored as hell, All the pools are closed because the water is too rocky and the ship is swaying all over the place... The rest of my family is all seasick and im not completely immune to it either. Its nauseatin' man!

 

With no swimming, the arcade doesnt open for another couple of hours, i've finised reading all the books i brought withe me and I dont feel like eating anything. Although i have to say.. the weather is beautiful.

 

 

 

Pictures later since i havent been able to get hold of my camera today. It's charging in my mum's cabin and she's seasick to the extreme so I darent go in. And on further inspection i'm not entirely sure whether uploading pics is supported on these computers. If i cant i'll just post em all when i get back. :D

Cruises are what you make of them. I was never bored on mine. There's always something to do, always people to meet, always some type of entertainment going on. Reading's a waste of time unless you're enjoying some sun. You have arcades at home. Actively search out fun stuff to do, because I know cruises, and I know it's out there. As much as I also dislike them, go to those teen groups and make some friends there if you have nothing else to do.

when i was on my cruise i just went to the pool and met some of the kids my age, and we decieded to met up later. first night i just wondered around with like 8'ish of them. i ended up spending most the remaing time on the cruise with one the girl's i hung out with on the first night.

 

 

 

the 2 best thing you must take full advantage of is relaxing at the helm of the boat, and the food.

 

 

 

note, you'll never meet any of these people again, so just relax, and mingle, the net can be accesed any time

 

 

 

EDIT: how people get sea-sick is beyond me, i never got sea-sick even a little, i loved it the rocking, btw if you think you might get sea-sick buy some of the medicican for it at the first port, worked a charm on my dad

All Day Breakfast Buffet.. when combined these words become the greatest in the english language. I love it! You americans have your bacon weird... I like the english way better tbh, but since i've never eaten pancakes for breakfast before its a treat to say the least. Pancakes are awesome!! I'm finding it hard to choose between a tradional full english and some of the other stuff available. But its not a proper full english 'cos people here havent even heard of black pudding! can you believe that! You tell them you want to eat some pigs blood and they look at you funny..... odd people.

 

 

 

The staff here are the most polite people i've ever seen in my entire life. I havent seen a crew member that wasnt smiling yet. they have suprisingly good english skills as well. Not many of them are american or english in origin but all of them speak it fairly well. its great. Everything is great. :thumbsup: :thumbsup: .

 

 

 

Pool is great. people are great. to quote macdonalds, I'm lovin' it.

I just got back from a 3 week stay in Barcelona! How long are you staying for? Beautiful city. The beaches are great and the people are all very friendly. :)

Cadiz tommorow, then barcelona the day after. We stop for a day in each port before moving on... If only I was 18 then monte carlo would be so much more fun. The rich mans capital of the world (i'd say casino capital of the world but i'm sure thats debatable) but alas i'm not technically a man yet.

Wow. Cadiz is... generic. I'd love to say it was interesting but I cant. Was a nice town... nice cathedral.. everything looked very... ... spanish. But i just wanted to get the hell back on the ship because the pool would be empty, thered be no queues for food / drink and I could lie in the sun in relative peace.

Now we've gotten a fair distance away from england the difference in weather is really noticable.. its NOT raining! The sea was horribly choppy last night.. I rolled out of bed about 4 times.. but its cleared up now.

I'm quite well travelled, been to Thailand, New Caledonia, America and on a cruise and I can safely say the cruise was the best holiday I've ever been on

 

 

 

I became good friends with the other teens on board through the teen club thing and for the 14 days on board I hardly saw my parents except for the ports (around the pacific islands)

 

 

 

How old are you? If your a teenager and get bored go make friends with the other teens, it's awesome trust me! We would stay out til 4 in the morning then meet back up at 9 or so and just mess around (although we quite often got our money card things taken off us by security guards for "being out past our curfew" :? )

Well said. Whats the point of being on the internet and spending lots of money doing it if your supposed to be on holiday and enjoying it? You can go on the tip.it forums at home. (Im quite surpirsed your parents let go go on a computer whilst on holiday).

Went to barcelona this morning... unfinished cathedral is cool and all.. but I just wanted to get back on the boat. Me and about 15 other people around my age are now officially at war with the pool security guards. We got kicked out of the adults only pool... we got kicked out of the kids pool... Where the hell are we supposed to go?!

 

 

 

Guitar heros a [bleep] aint it? I picked up the guitar for the first time last night and didnt put it down for about 5 hours. I might have to buy myself a ps2 when i get back.

 

 

 

This place rocks! I'm spending all day with loads of other kids and its great. I've only got about 1 hour of internet time left for the entire cruise so i'll have to post a lot less often!
