Ever remember how things were when you joined rs?

I was just thinking of back when i joined runescape 3-4 years ago. I was thinking of all the stuff and how it was back then. A simple, really fun game, no macros, and a great community. I even remember working so hard for 50k that i was away from from a santa which was 100k at the time (by the time i got that last 50k they were 500k lol) Times were good back then. Everything was so new, everyday I'd learn something new, I would feel so proud at getting something even if it was very newbish. Do you ever miss those times back in the old RS2? Now these days, we know everything about the game, rares are millions out of our reach, macros and gold farmers are screwing the game up, and we just don't feel as proud at a new achievement or the wonder at discovering something new now that we've basically done everything and know what its like. We don't feel super strong anymore now that we know how good some people are. The game just isn't the same as it used to be.

 

 

 

 

 

Do you ever remember or wish that you were just back in the simple days of runescape, where everything was fun and new, and you couldn't wait to try something new out. Don't you just wish you were back in the early days of rs?

I've only played runescape for 9 months...but i remember my RS friend and IRL telling me when zezima was ranked 7th overall. And i was watching my friend play when there was no bots cutting yews on F2P worlds.

All the time I think about how things used to be. Santas being 6mil, mournings end 2 just got released, times were good. And there were very few bots. Those were the good old days.

No macros? you were playing a different game, i've been here for over 5 years and there were macros way back in rsc, you just don't remember them.

 

 

 

I remember joining in rsc, no tutorial island, i remember immediately beginning to mine and smith, i'd mine an entire inventory of iron, and smelt them into iron bars and then smith them. It was alot better back then in vampire slayer if you had garlic with you it would cause 15 damage to the vampire. good times \

I cannot remember what exactly i did.. Since my account is from late 2001 or early 2002 (pauses, thus my high scores).

 

But i guess, both RSC and RS2 has their uppers and downers. But to be honest? The Feeling in RSC was really outstanding.

 

Maybe one of the games where there's most nostalgia. Oh well, it's more fun talking RSC than RS2.

I remember back in RSC, exactly 5 years ago when the maps didn't really ID everything, when i first started out, I mined copper and tin in varrock, wallked to falador to smelt, walked back to varrock to smith, sold and repeated procces, I did so until level 27, lol, I did everything the hard way, but I agree, not knowing is kind of fun.

i remember anyone in rune being followed lol, sometimes even addy. And also I remember back when there were elss players and i was in the top 100k in every stat. Barely in top 500k before i got banned

Good ole times. I worked hard for my first rare(easters which were 1.6, then zoomed up as soon as I went to sleep >.<) I was proud of gettin 1k in rsc :)

when i was like lvl 9 i would see people wearing full metal armor sets in f2p and thought, wow they look like a knight i wanna look like that :D so i worked at getting armor pieces and started to kinda look like a knight in my bronze gear then i got killed by a jail guard and lost my3000 gp that i worked so hard for and was very proud of, i saw a level 103 and i was awestruck, i didnt even know what a party hat was :

Remember when the graphics were even worse? In RSC arrows were green asterisks, magic was blue asterisks

 

 

 

I remember never entering Falador, I always stuck to Varrock, Draynor, and Lumbridge.. And then one time I wandered a bit far and got lost for days lol.

I joined almost 2 months after p2p was released. Eh, I could go on and on, but I think I already have done so enough on previous threads :lol: Let's just say it's true, things were a lot more simple back then.

I joined when RS2 came out...Me and my Cousin would work without end trying to get Rune Longsword by killing Goblins getting gold, selling the Armor to General Store.

 

 

 

I remember when I got Full Rune and I thought I was just the best player...ever... I wish I could feel like that again...

geez u guys remember when santa hats were 400K?? I remember walking around one halloween and suddenly these masks were appearing on the ground!! :shock: .. that was exciting! and everyone was buying rune items for rediculous amounts of money..

 

 

 

and yeh there was still alot of macros but that didnt bother anyone that much because the game was still so much fun! no races to 99 nothing

I remember seeing someone with a rune kite, and when I asked him how much it cost, and he said 50k, I was like 'WOAH! 50k? That's soo expensive! How can you afford that?'. Heh.

 

 

 

Also remember getting lost just north of Lumbridge. I then finally went to Varrock, and stayed there for like 6 months. I also discovered Falador 3 months after I started. :lol:

 

 

 

Who remembers what the old RS main page looked like? Remember when everything was in big box like things, going down by 2's, sorta like this:

my account may have been born in feb '06, and is now lvl 80 but the first half year playing was like nothing i ever felt before. I was scared of fiting white (or blk) knights, and i thought 10k was rich as hell. then the second half year came and i got a feeling of conquering the world, in which i made and also lost the most money since then. now the thrid half year has come, and i have settled down and started doing long-term things, (currently killing mossies 6+ days straight). it just felt so warm to be in the first year

How many people remember the guy in Lumbridge who asked you what you wanted to be like Adventurer, Miner, Warrior etc... and then gave you the stuff for it? I chose Miner and spent most of my RSC days mining copper and tin smelting it and smithing it then sellin to Fally general store. When i Reached full bronze I stopped and went to train my other skills for abit.

 

 

 

I remember when RS2 was advertised and me and my friend where like Runecrafting sounds good but you'll probaly need a good crafting level so we should probaly train that for a while... then we found out it was its own skill when beta came out :roll:
