mrmyk
[hide]Ok, near our school there is a McDonalds, KFC and Burger King near our school. We aren't allowed to go to McD or KFC but we can go to BK. Why not all 3 wtf? We aren't allowed to go into Kendrews (Corner Shop) but we can go into Martins (Similar just by a different name) which is nearer. No physical contact. Someone got detention for poking someone. Lol. You aren't allowed to bring sweets into school premises. Yet there is a tuck shop which sells them for a lower price... You are not allowed on the AWTA (ALL WEATHER TRAINING AREA) when it is raining heavily or snowing. Now, the next 2 rules combined are my favourites. No Tennis Balls, Footballs over size 2, rugby balls. If you wish to go onto the AWTA (All weather training area) you must wear trainers whether it is retrieving a tennis ball or rugby ball (lol?) or actually playing on it. We're not allowed to go to the shops near our school but really..we've seen teachers in there ourselves and most people go a few days a week :-$ But that rugby/football rule sounds stupid...most of my year is playing football or sometimes rugby at lunch on South Field (just a name) and no one tries to stop us. *thanks that doesn't go the RGS*They blocked off the shortcut through the old people's home, we now have to walk all the way round. You know there's a Whitgift Bar which some Sixth Formers go to to drink after school lol.[/hide] Hehe we used that shortcut to get to the playing fields for a cricket match if I recall. :Yeah I used it as a shortcut to get to my bus stop but they blocked it off for some reason. Not too hard to get over :P We had to today after the rugby ball got kicked overYeah I stopped getting that bus though, the train is so much quicker. Any good teachers this year? Except from Miss Polivankina ;) TBH been an awesome start to the year, cut down on rs to only weekends and 1-2 hours then, good friends and marks etc.. :) Good times, good times Proud Retired Council of The GladiatiorzClick here for our website - 110+ F2P Combat Requirements
Ragen
Girls get onto the bus before boys do. Rule of the guy who stands by the bus and stops us pushing our way on. Blatant sexism and he knows it. Thanks Venomai for this super sig and Kwimbob for the awesome avatar!

ThurinEthir
To the OP: Ever tried following those rules? That might help. To everyone else who's posted rules: o.0 I have no idea here my student handbook is (Not like I care), so a few "special" rules I can think of off the top of my head. They aren't dumb, and I can agree with some of them. They're mainly rules that most other schools don't have. -No latex. When my principal was giving the introductory speech to us on the first day of school (The same speech I've heard year after year), she said something along the lines of..."Remember, -School name- is a latex-free environment! This means no latex erasers, no balloons, and no latex rubber bands! If you need any of these materials, please ask a teacher." Um...Yeah. Great. Balloons. Like I would bring a balloon to school. And apparently, some kid asked his teacher for a balloon. xD But anyways, why do we have this rule? Because there's this one girl in my grade that's allergic to latex. One person caused a school of nearly a thousand people to go completely latex free. Only in a democratic state. Anyways, I find it kind of absurd that my principal would affect so many people just so one girl could go to a public school. But eh, if she's going to school, might as well follow the rule. -No hats. I sort of understand how it could be disrespectful to teachers and how they can be distractions. If they affect the way the class operates, then sure, make there be no hats. But a few really weird parts about this rule. 1) My health teacher last year said that "Hats sometimes can symbolize gangs, and the faculty of -School name- doesn't support gangs." Um...Sure. The Red Sox are a gang. Totally. 2) This is in effect even not in classes. I don't see any reason that students shouldn't be allowed to wear hats during lunch. 3) This is effect even outside. No hats during Physical Education. And sometimes, there are teachers outside that make sure students don't wear hats until they're a certain distance from the building. :-s I'll post more if I think of any. meol
Sorry, no dumb rules here, apart from having to wear the school uniform: a specific orange t-shirt they sell us, and black pants of any kind. :D During class it depends only on the teacher, some let us eat/drink in class, some other don't, it's pretty flexible in here. look_its_rob
Before this year , it was up to the teacher to decide what kinds of drinks were alowed in class, this year its a school rule that only water can be allowed in class. just plain water, not even vitamin water. And to make it worse they raised the prices of all the drinks, so now we have to pay more to get them, and then we cant even drink em. Look its rob! zeekyhbomb
-Uniform has to be worn (Whatever). Shirts always tucked in. -All the teachers are required to pray with the class before starting (Ugh). -Hair can't be in the face (A bit difficult when my hair is a couple inches below my chin  ). Most the rules are pretty standard for any private school, and any regular school actually. Most rules make sense, I really hate hair rules, though; it's really the only way to not look like EVERYONE else. And girls can have their hair however they damn well please.

Achilleus
I really wish people would think before posting these threads.... There are reasons for those rules. Stop acting immature/ignorant and actually open your eyes to see that those rules are there for a reason. Exactly What I was thinking
Lt_Necro_Lt
I know they are reasonable, just it is little bit stupid how they are put in. Like anyone would come naked or have *** somewhere in school. I looked through our rulebook today to find some interests. *No manufacturer (sp?) signs on P.E. outfit (explain this one. hehe) *You have only 2 minutes for bathroom. Rcty
Three Words: Better Answer Formula (Also known as B.A.F. and B.A.R.F. [better Answer Rediculous Formula]). It's some stupid formula we're supposed to use when answering questions: Restate the question, provide details, etc. Some kids have to use it in ALGEBRA! Q: What is 2x9x0x8x7x6x5x7x9x6x5x9? A: The answer to 2x9x0x8x7x6x5x7x9x6x5x9 is 0. (A bit of an exaggeration, but you get the point.) ~Rcty Rcty
ctp080188
Like anyone would come naked or have *** somewhere in school. Lol, one of my good friends got expelled from school at 15 for having sex on his desk when everyone had gone home. Some teacher who hadn't walked in. My school didn't really have any stupid rules, but the enforcements were rather silly. We weren't allowed shoes with a heel higher than 2 inches, there were inspection days where we had to all take off our shoes and the teacher went round with a ruler. What a waste of time. tintin113
My deputy-headmistress at my old school exploited us like this: Coats must be worn to go outside during lunch time in winter. You get a detention if you stay inside at lunch time. Doesn't seem all that bad? it getes worse: Only school coats must be worn. Meh?
