rarely ever check forums.

All the nice people didn't quit, we just quit trying to always be nice.

It is tiresome and aggravating to be kind and not be thanked. I have helped with thousands (yes thousands) of quests and many times for not so much as a "thank you" when i was done.

Tiresome... to hear plzzzzzzzzzzzz instead of please, to be asked in such a way that it sounds like begging...as you did, to be begged from and then have the begger show you his 20 million, to be be interrupted over and over and over because I am a female and considered a pushover...so people try to push me over. And yes I do go over the at times and yell and get upset now because it happens way too often.

If you do not wish to be considered a begger, offer to pay! Don't expect free stuff! Giving to people who ask for free stuff, is not being kind...it fosters more begging!

Andrew I don't agree with your method of dealing with the other players but I do agree that more and more people are getting selfish. I have been playing since 2005 (yea I know my stats are nooby for someone who has been playing for 2 years) and I can definetly see a difference in the attitudes of players. That said I must also say that not all people are selfish, I remember doing a lvl 3 clue which required a Rune full helmet ( i sold my full rune for full dharoks + helm of neitznot (sp?)) so I said buying rune full helmet and one guy got curious as to why I wanted a Rune full helmet as I already had a much superior one. When i told him it was for a clue he immediately gave me one for free ( I paid him anyway as I don't like accepting free stuff). Thats just to show that there are still some generous people.

Thanks to Goldwolflord, megadedhed, willmcdermot, Biabf, jak722, born2die, Mediumwell, xxxShade, Random, speedofsound, edtheripper, and Alduron for the awesome sig

So i go in and instead of just killing the drag 4 times, I attack the drag as soon as it spawns and get it, and kill it till my bag is full of just d hides(i buried the bones). Of course this got them angry and i told them this could've been prevented if they just spared 4 hides, and instead lost 28 kills.

My view on this was you needed 4 hides and was not leaving empty handed.

You cant fight fire with fire. The way you acted, in my opinion, was selfish.

i used to help people out, but when i needed a hand, i never got help from anyone. nowdays if someone asks something, and i give it, 20 other noobs come following me and shouting: "free stuff plox, you gave him something too". so WTF is the point?

I posted here.

ftw.

I don't give away items anymore, I give advice. People tend to be ungrateful nowadays, at least they can refuse the advice.

"300 programmers make their futile but glorious last stand against 1000000 angry players in The battle of Misthalin. They fight for honor, glory and new content sacrificing themselves so that their game may live on. This is Madness! This Is JAGEEEX!"

no need to beg them, go to a different world, kill 4 dragons, and take the hides...And I agree with the person above me

Apcrump0.png

There is a difference between people not giving in to beggars and people being generous...all you want is people to give you fr33 st00f! Zomg he didn't give me free stuff, selfish!!!

Thats mean, lol i would give someone 4 hides if i was there, and you wasent begging you asked and he was started being greedy and mean.

Im with you, before ppl was nice and gave away stuff (a lvl 75 gave me some mith and addy stuff to me when i was lvl 30-40), now if u ask for something free they just get greedy or rude.

Oh, geez, we should have realised everyone has to give people free stuff when they ask! God, we're so stupid! Not to mention selfish! Well, better give away my entire bank, because I see some people asking for free stuff!

And who's to say the OP wasn't greedy or rude? He couldn't be bothered to scrounge for 8k to pay for the hides, and because of this someone should give away their earnings? They weren't rude in any way, and the OP as good as called them selfish because they wouldn't give him their hides.

Asking for free stuff is begging. Sure, slap on the label 'asking', he was begging. What separates him from the Lumbridge poor? A few words. That's all the difference.

Those who ask don't get, and those who don't ask don't want. :?

Often I get bored and make about 20 or bronze sets to give away, but I wouldn't count myself as a person who gives away stuff a lot.

what happened to all of the generous people in RS? Well when you do stuff like that, people get mad...

Theres probably a lack of generous people but i dont agree with your point, its their descission to give free things or not, what if they wanted to trade, begging is not good and also you taking 28 kills wasnt generous too, cause you didnt even need to kil that much.

If you had asked me for free hides which I worked for and you didn't, I would have called you a beggar.

Because that's exactly what it is.

Don't ask anyone for ANYTHING free, even if they're your friends. If someone offers to give you something, fine, you can take it. But never try to take the easy way out of something by leeching off of someone else.

And you shouldn't think that you're sparing the guy trouble by asking, since you'd STEAL the dragon otherwise.

If you were really an honourable player you would world hop until you found an empty world, or you'd go to another location with more dragons.

Monster stealing is what noobs do. Begging is what beggars do.

Do you REALLY want to be known as either of those two types of people?

I wouldn't.
