jemathonical
Don't watch scary movies like Harry Potter... Stick to cartoons until you feel up to watching a scary movie. ^Sir Jem 05-The Bunny Drinking Blog?^ Click it!
DragonFirenze
Just remember that its fictional (not real). That usually works for me. The only time i really get scared is when people are walking through a hallway and some hideous grotesque monster jumps out and goes BREAAAAAAARGHHHHHH!! But hey, thats human nature. Adam007
Go for a 10-15+ hour marathon of forcing yourself to watch the scariest movies ever made til you're numb to it. It's called flooding. Might work, might not.
No_OnE
Just think about it like this: 1) The movie's fictional. 2) Even if the movie wasn't fictional and some guy in a mask with a knife/chainsaw/etc. showed up at your house, you could beat it him. Just take every stupid thing that the characters in the scary movie did and do the opposite. On a serious note, don't worry about it. It's something you'll grow out of. I was dead scared of almost any scary movie until I was 12 and I wouldn't even think about going on rollercoasters until I was 14. Now I love both. Just give it time. I started with Sci-fi stuff like Aliens, then moved on to zombie movies, now anything is fine. Sig by IkuraiYour Guide to Posting! Behave or I will send my Moose mounted Beaver launchers at you! warri0r45
Fear comes from feeling void of control. Go into a movie, realise that you're in control and keep telling yourself that you're in control. When I say in control, I don't mean of the movie plot, I mean of the fact that it's a movie and you are watching it from a comfy chair in total safety. It's fiction and you are in the real world. Dunno, might help. I'm no expert though.
gonpost
Remind yourself that it's not real. While you're watching the movie, make sure to look at the room you are in. That'll remind you that it's only a movie and that you're still in reality; and that reality is just as it has always been. Just reason with yourself. EDIT: It seems warrior said nearly the same thing as I was making this post, haha. But it really is the best way to get over that fear in my opinion. Runescape Name: "unbug07"Expand your mind. It's called flooding. Might work, might not. To possable things might happen from that: 1. I won't be scared anymore. 2(probably more likely). I will be totally scared, have nightmares for the rest of my life, never get any sleep, and die... Don't want that :P :P
