hbk_hossack
Hey i just thought of something for when someone levels up. My original idea was for it to happen when someone got to 99, but i've changed it so it's every time you level up once your past 70 ( thanks folmer_veeman). The basic idea was that every skill has it's own level-up emote. For combat emotes, you would see it after you kill the monster (thanks psycho). Here are some ideas suggested by Omali- Attack: Your avatar holds up his sword, that gleams, and then does a large slash. Your sword glows for a couple minutes Defense: A bird flies overhead and drops a large rock, which your avatar blocks with a shield, shattering the rock. Your shield glows for a few minutes. Range: Your avatar throws a disc into the air, and fires four arrows rapid shot. The disc hits the ground with all four arrows in it. Your bows glow for a few minutes. Prayer: Your avatar explodes in a burst of light, and has a halo for a couple minutes. Mage: Your avatar holds out his hands, where fireballs appear, then shoot flames into the sky, dieing down into a pile of gold in both hands Runecrafting: Your avatar takes a log, a pie, and his shoe, and crafts them into runes. Construction: Your avatar builds, at super fast speed, a small stand that shoots fireworks into the sky Hitpoints: Your avatar's heart appears over his head, and beats, getting progressively bigger and bigger. Herblore: Your avatar concocts a potion, examines it, then throws the vial on the ground, exploding and causing the player to turn completely black with soot. After a few minutes, the avatar dusts himself off and returns to normal. Theiving: Your avatar takes a coin out of his own pocket, jumps for joy, looks around, and pockets it Crafting: Your avatar throws gems, cow hide, and studs onto the ground, pounces on them and, after a cloud of dust appears and settles, reappears wearing gem studded cow hide. Armor lasts for a few minutes Fletching: Your avatar takes out a floating table top, puts a log on it, and uses the knife to dice it into thin slices. He then shrugs and puts the materials away. Slayer: Your avatar takes out a tablet, marks another kill, and puts the tablet away Hunter: Your avatar looks around, and a large box is dropped on him. A large chinchompa appears, laughs, and hops off. The box disappears and your avatar goes back to normal Mining: Your avatar takes out a pickaxe, flips it in the air and balances it on his hand. He then leans on it like a walking stick. Smithing: Your avatar takes out a hammer and throws it straight out. He looks around, and the hammer comes from behind him, hitting him in the back. In one hand he wields a book and in the other a hammer and starts to make a weapon on an anvil without looking. Cooking: Similar to runecrafting; Your avatar takes a lobster, herbs, and corn, and throws it into a large pot (think the icon) which simmers, and out pops a cake. Your avatar grabs the cake before it falls, and scratches his head in confusion. Firemaking: Your avatar builds a small tower with logs (think Lincoln log style) then burns it down. Woodcutting: Your avatar hits the tree so hard that the axe gets stuck. He pulls the axe out and kicks the tree, hopping on one foot. Farming: Your avatar takes a plant pot, drops a coin in, and covers it in compost. A money tree grows from the pot, then disappears. Once you are level 99 you unlock the emote to use all the time. What does everyone think? Lord_Firer
I reckon that it would be fair cool, but I reckon it is enougt with the capes that we have already. I would fully agree with you if you could replay the emote, but then there would be no point in the capes really. Lord_Firer
Yeah, maybe if you saw the emote every time you leveled, but it was the same emote every time. Also, you wouldn't see some emotes, such as slayer and all combat related ones because you will be to busy fighting. Zaaps1
But the same emote for every level? I think the others shouldn't be as good as 99. ~It's Super Effective! psycho1701
I think it should be a different one for every 10 lvls or so. And they should get progressively better the higher you get. With the best being the skill cape (ideally). But considering how much work it would take to do this I doubt it will ever happen.

psycho1701
Farming: Your avatar takes a plant pot, drops a coin in, and covers it in compost. A money tree grows from the pot, then disappears. Now THAT is an adition to the farming skill I would like lol. Idea I just had about the emotes for combat. Since it would be hard to see the emotes often cuz you're still fighting. Maybe it could show up after you're down killing the monster? That way you at least have a higher chance of seeing it.
Gandorf61
hmm ya. There could be one emote for every skill that is the same every time you level up, just make them different from the skill capes. Possibly for the combat ones it should be displayed as soon as you finish killing the monster, along with the Text Box saying congratulations. Another possible idea would be that once you reach level 99 in the stat you unlock the emote to use whenever you want to. Barihawk
Omali wins the thread, I have to say. All of those are great, except for the parts that last a few moments. Just for the duration of the emote and it's a winner. My heart is broken by the terrible loss I have sustained in my old friends and companions and my poor soldiers. Believe me, nothing except a battle lost can be half so melancholy as a battle won. -Sir Arthur Wellesley
drapit
That would render the skill capes rather useless, don't you think. Even if it's once per level. The minor earthquake by the strength emote shouldn't take up more than one space, making it rather stupid. Obviously the agility emote is going to take a lot of space, having to construct the wall and all that. And I don't think Jag is going to do this. folmer_veeman
they could do that these emotes come every level up after 70, otherwise you'd have the emotes every few minutes if you just started with a skill
Harrington
Neat idea... people often miss the little sparkly display. An emote would be more obvious. I support :)

PrOfEsIoNaL
What I'm thinking of is once you level up, the skill which is in your state page icon that you have leveled up will appear on top of your head with a leveled up wording and fire crakers all around. Harrington
Nice ideas :) I don't think Jagex would create them for some simple reason. It's a lot of coding and animation for something that will only happen to a character once lol. Perhaps the idea could be expanded to similar but less impressive emotes for every level achieved (or every landmark level).

jedislayer14
i think for the combat related skills your charachters sword should glow a certain color as u hold in the sky, and u would bring it down finishing off the monster u where fighting (no matter how much health it had). the other monsters couldnt attack u for 20 secods. (unless u attack them) NOTE: THIS WOULDNT WORK ON OTHER PLAYERS 1 defence pure pvp vid 1: Proud to have achieved 97 cooking F2P

tyluke
i like it. its a cool idea, but what if your in the middle of a fight when you gain that level. (just the combat skills basicly). oh oh oh. idea. when your character finishs a quest he should do some special jump, leap or joyful action. something classic like in mario 64 when mario would get the star only 2 skills below level 50 :)
