A Quest Drought?

Featured Replies

There are achievement diaries, the GWD, and a good number of quests.

When there are no quests, people rant about how they need a quest.

Whenever there is a quest, people rant about how hard it is, how the reward sucks, etc etc..

I'm kinda glad at the lack of quests.... it's allowed me to catch up lol.

Besides, I only do quests that are worthwhile and by that I mean one that unlocks a new area or item.

Quest drought is one of my favourite thing to hear.

Since I am only members for 5 months p/year I generally get overwhelmed in the other 7 months when I can not complete the new quests.

Though I do not mind quests, when they were churning them out late last year-early this year I got quite sick of the hakf quality stories being chucked together.

Since then I have found it quite enjoyable to do the occasionak new release while I do my favourite thing-skilling

if you said "runescape" at my school, seeing that 90% of the population there are rednecks, they'd be like "whats that", me: "a computer game online", "eh!? oh one of those thinga-ma-gigers mrs clark got on her desk? a compooter?
A quest every once in a while doesn't hurt. I think 12/year would be ok. I want deeper storylines with more mature themes like vengeance, betrayal, passion, destiny, etc. Doesn't have to be outrageous.. just something deeper.

Yeh I'd agree with you there. The quests need to be a bit more storyline-based rather than finding out whether penguins are taking over the world.

To be honest I don't really like quests, 5 - 10 a year would suit me.

99 Magic, 99 Defence, 99 Strength, 99 Attack, 99 Hitpoints, 99 Fletching, 99 Woodcutting, 99 Firemaking, 99 Thieving, 99 Ranged, 99 Prayer, 99 Cooking, 99 Fishing

nope we dont realy need any more this year weve got enough to sink our teeth into

Timewarp back more years when they released about 10 every year then tell me they've been slowing down on quests. :-k

Timewarp back even more, where it was LUCKY if they released even just one or two new quests a year... Because the entire game was FREE!!!!

I think it okay with the current amout of quest coming into the game. Maybe there is even a bit too many? I don't mind Jagex concentrating a bit more on other parts of the game at all.

99 ranged | 99 magic | 99 defence | 99 hitpoints

Remember, it's just a game

Feel free to add me on RS. :) Always ready for a chat.

I hope that this is because Jagex is realizing that we only like to do quests when they do one or more of the following:

Open up a new area

Unlock a new item

Give us lots of XP (especially in some of the more expensive/slower skills)

Actually I'm suprised at some of the quest opportunities that Jagex passed up. I thought for sure there would be a quest to access God Wars, and they even had the dying Knight that had a message for Sir Tiffy. And the same with the Barbarian Training earlier that gave us the Mithril Dragons (we had to do some steps, but it wasn't a quest).

Dragon Drops - 10 Meds, 9 Legs, 5 Skirts, 2 Left Half

PM me to have any potions made or crafting done

jagex needs higher farming level to make some more quests :wall:

I'm hoping that Jagex will make up for this year by releasing lots of quests in the future. 130 quests aren't enough. Most games have 1000+ quests, but most of them are small, and in RuneScape terms it would be more like 300-500 quests. Still, that's a lot more than we have right now.

Quests are my favorite part of the game.

I think it okay with the current amout of quest coming into the game. Maybe there is even a bit too many?

Too many?

Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:

Quests are pretty annoying for me; they're basically all just

1) Talk to somebody who has a simple problem

2) Problem leads to another problem for no apparent reason

3) Run around, fetch a few items

4) Talk to some guys

5) Kill a high lvl monster

and nearly all of them have just mediocre rewards. The only reason I do them is to unlock things like dragon weapons, areas and stuff like that. I think members has enough quests already; try joining members just now and see how long it takes you to do all the quests (and get the skills to do them). Probably at least several months.

RSN: Manaleak

They need to step away from combat-themed quests, because they are doomed to be a disappointment. The closest thing that came to a challenge in a combat-based quest was the RFD bosses... If you had to fight them all one after the other, resetting if you left the arena, it would've been a true challenge. However, as it is, you can leave and restock on food, negating any challenge it might have given.

I want more quests like Monkey Madness and ME Part 2, that are largely puzzle based.

They are working on other stuff like GWD and Ge so we get less quests. thats fine by me.

Goals achieved: lvl 99 Cooking, Fishing and Fletching.

Surrey CC and Liverpool FC fan for life!

Can't say I'm that sorry for there being less quests :P Can't say they've really gotten any reasonable quests out since the RFD and Fairy Tale's ones.

Apart from that I think the updates this year have had their ups and downs as usual, but I think that they're working on something big infact they said it themselves, and this is just stuff to keep us entertained while they tweak the game week by week.

I've never even liked quests, so not getting new ones isn' t something I'd be concerned about. I only do quests if an item I want requires one (guess that's the same way with others too).

But I'm f2p, so I've been without quests for a long time. I haven't even done all f2p quests :XD:

You make it out to sound like a bad thing!!

This is great news!

It must meant they released more content people wanted. =D>

I done all those quests and well.. I only do them so I can better my chance of beating my tears of guthix record lol. The more seconds the better. \'
