llamster
JAGEX IS NOT GOING TO REMOVE TRADING, FOR THE LAST FREAKIN' TIME!!!!!! Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:
Doctorz
Well this would certainly take care of the real world trading problem. I'd hate losing the ability to trade though, no more lending or borrowing items to and from friends. Of course that'd just lead to fewer people getting scammed.. After the 3k staking cap, I wouldn't be surprised at all if they did this.
fakeitormakeit
Idk if I'd quite but maybe I'd be angry, but I guess with the GE you could still trade but not conviently and now I feel gulity I told Jordan about the author posting thing :(
Numer0_un0
Oh, so how are they going to alter the Hero's quest when one of the players has to give the other guy the candlestick or whatnot? :P No, Trade Screen will stay...
JordanGM
Fakeit, dont feel bad. I hate when people do that too : They can easily alter two quests. I dont think they would throw out a whole idea for two measly quests.
caldius
This is quite an enlitened post and I can definitly see it being the future. People who are saying life will be inconveinient with out trading, I disagree. From what we know of the Grand Exchange trading will become way easier, I know I will never both live trading with someone after they release it. Wrench_150
I've stuck with RuneScape even though I disagree with the recent updates they made these past several months, but I held onto my love for this game. All those wonderful moments shared with friends. I took a break, but eventually I came back since I couldn't leave RuneScape forever out of my life. It may mean only playing less than half a hour a day to chat with friends, but I was willing to do that. Trading is a major part in my RS life. Exchanging items with friends, giving them a gift and etc. If trading is gone then sadly I will also be gone. Almost all games have trades in it and I can't imagine no longer seeing trade with ---- even if Grand Exchange comes in and it's great, I can't stand having no trades. It isn't about the money, it's about having fun and enjoying RuneScape. I'm pretty positive RS won't add a option to give gifts to your friends since autoers could use it to their advantage. Hell, I rather have autoers in the game than losing the trade option. We just need to keep it under control by doing our part and of course Jagex doing their part. It's probably easier than inventing a whole new system without trading and adding this and that. With trading gone, I'm pulling that $5 out and sticking it in the bank where it will at least prove useful in the future. 99 Fletch~~99 WC~~79/81 Fishing87/94 Magic~~84 RangeEtha! You were killing Armadyl boss with 2 other friends, and one of them gets Armadyl Hilt. He goes and sells it via grand exchange, but how does he split the money with his 2 teammates if they can't directly trade? Unless Jagex thinks of something very creative, I can't see them taking out trading in the future. 621st person to achieve 99 slayer on December 3rd, 2007177th person to 99 summoning on June 21st, 2008

tuttle43
I have 5 words I say whenever I hear crud about removing trading: Shield of Arrav, Hero's Quest. I doubt they would destroy 2 of their own quests and a guild.... Perhaps they could retain player to player training, but only for certain quest specific items. Another possibility would be for a cut scene to be put in those quests where the 2 players are shown handing off the items to one another. There are ways to make this work. I've killed over 20,000 dust devils while training to 99 attack and have still not gotten a dragon chain.

unorclan
I dont know if this has been said...but instead of being able to drop stuff they'll make it like the holiday items where you can delete them. JordanGM
I've thought about that, but then afftteerrr came up with the idea to do personal drops, which means only you would be able to see and pick up what you drop.
tuttle43
You just crushed my hope... I don't like the idea of not being able to trade... I'm not fond of losing direct trading either, but if securing the game requires the loss of some liberties I'm ok with it. I know this sounds like the Patriot Act (or Articles of Allegiance for V for Vendetta fans), but if removal of direct trade and dropping will stop bots and gold sellers then I feel it is something we need to accept. Naturally the market will go haywire for a period of time, but it will even out and we will adapt, just like when construction was released. But why would they have updated the trading screen these past few months to stop scammers if they knew about this and been planning up to this no-trade thing all along?? Lol, just think of all us, in the future months and years of Runescape we'll be here on Tip.it posting topics like "I remember back in the days of RS2 where you could actually trade stuff straight to another player!! anyone got some pics maybe?? anyone?" lol :XD: Thanks to the amazing talent of Jopie211 for the sig!Finest Fist of Guthix Strategy Guide

unorclan
sorry to keep posting but ideas keep coming to me. 1. Forum shops would have to close down cause workers couldn't deliver anymore. 2. All the moneymaking guides would be closed or complete revamped and changed. 3. Couldn't autoers just cut/mine/fish stuff and then sell it in the grand exchange...? They could sell to the GE, yes, but they can't go and sell the gold they make on RWT sites. EDIT: The only autoers we would need to worry about would be those who collect materials and sell so they can personally buy expensive items. JordanGM
They could sell to the GE, but they can't trade the money to other players (so they cant trade it for real money). EDIT: Forum shops will be practically worthless after GE.

JordanGM
'Destroying' trading gets rid of RWT'ers, autoers that supply RWT'ers, drop traders (new pures/skillers too!). I think its for the better, but thats just my opinion.

I think its for the better, but thats just my opinion. I agree. Trading won't be ruined, it will just be centralized. EDIT: To keep the inconveniences to a minimum Jagex could place Grand Exchange branches in major cities that will all be linked to one another. This way you won't have to go to Varrok every time you need to buy something. I've killed over 20,000 dust devils while training to 99 attack and have still not gotten a dragon chain.
