Will Jagex repeal the stake limit?

I talked to Pual Gower a few days ago, and he said that the limit was "unlikely" to be temporary. But then again, "unlikely" does not mean "never."

Sounds like he had some conversation with a lawyer and decided to use his newly acquired lawyertalk-skill.

Not really newly acquired, we all know that Paul (and his brother) both have level 99 in lawyertalk. They've been talking like that ever since RS2 came out.

Oh, and I really don't think that Jagex will 'repeal'. By definition, Jagex doesn't 'do' repeal.

But, they may replace the restriction with something more complex and less restricting on legitimate players. There are some better solutions floating around. They may not do it, but it will be better.

So, I say 'replace', not 'repeal'.

Oh, and doesn't the 'stat reveal' lunar spell kinda solve the whole pure issue, with them trying to hide their ability behind a false combat level?

Ok, let me get this straight (I haven't logged in for a while): The new update prevents any dueling other than 64-person tournaments? Wow, that sounds...not as good.

they may not repeal it but they may raise it to somthing less restricting like 100k

They should have made it 0 so no one would say "raise the limit".

I shall take my flock underneath my own wing, and kick them right the [bleep] out of the tree. If they were meant to fly, they won't break their necks on the concrete.
So, what is 1.111... equal to?

10/9.

Please don't continue.

Perhaps. But if they do repeal it, it will be because of the few people who actually contributed some sensible arguments and reasonable alternatives, NOT because of the [developmentally delayed] rioters.

This, I believe, is an excellent response. Trouble is, what are the reasonable alternatives? It seems that once you allow staking, you allow people to abuse the system.

I think one good alternative would be to simply raise the cap to something like 500k every 15 minutes. 2m an hour is still really good, but not anywhere near as ridiculous as being able to win billions in rares on a good day. That would also still limit RWTers from using it, because there isn't a RWTer out there that will wait around for 5 hours to transfer 10m when they could just do it on a throwaway account.

There's a little thing called highscres that works to, if they are a half decent pure.

Hehe, this is like Jagex telling half of Runescape players that they're [developmentally delayed]. Sort of. That's how I interpreted it. :P

Runescape is why I support abortion.

With all of the little "riots" and rants about the newly established staking limit, do you think Jagex will give in to the pressure and remove the staking limit?

no, they won't. my theory is that they are making a chain of economy changes, i.e. the unidentified herbs update, duel arena; to get ready for the VGE (Varrock Grand Exchange) so they can, for once, stabilize the ecomony. but yeah i thought you'd like to know.. \'
