My parents are really strict, and they won't let me get members anymore (I had membership for 2 months...they decided it was a waste of money). Are there any ways to get membership without them knowing? Paybyphone won't work for me, as they'll figure it out from the extra money charged onto the phone bill. Btw...I can't drive yet, not quite old enough.

You could get a job and pay for it yourself? Thats what I did...And it was behind my parents' back.

One way or another you will be caught and they most likely will be so ticked they will ground you from your computer, so I wouldn't want you to deal with that.

 

 

 

Your best chance would be trying to convince them that the game is very fun and your time will be well spent (well not really).

The 2 ways I've used which don't require any parental consent or assistance are Debit/Gift cards and PayByCash.

 

 

 

Through Debit/Gift cards, with a Mastercard Gift Card, you can purchase a $30 (3.95 activation fee) one from your nearest store, like Walmart, and use it to pay for your membership like a credit card.

 

 

 

Or PayByCash and mail it in. No receipt or anything is sent back so your parents wouldn't know unless they saw you mail it out. This is more expensive and takes a bit longer.

If you have a cool uncle or aunt give them cash and get them to pay for it on their credit card or whatever.

Hmm...the gift cards sound interesting...do you think they would sell them at CVS? I can bike there in like 5 minutes or less maybe.

I doubt CVS but try a mall or something like Walmart as heart said or possibly sears.

Well I got mine at Walgreens and it's basically the same as CVS, so possibly yes.

Alright, I did this once and it worked. Get $8 (something around there for pay by mail), put it in an envelope, and send it via mail. Here comes the tricky part, at least for me: Finding a way to send it without getting caught. Here's the scoop: Pretend you have a girlfriend (assuming you're male :P) or an important other and make a fake envelope addressed to him/her. Ask your parents if you can go to the a post box, and switch the letters without being seen, therefore sending the money for membership. I did this whole shinanigan exactly, and I must say it was quite fun; that is, if you don't want your parents nagging you about your significant other :P And of course, why not defy your parents with style; isn't that what childhood is all about? \

If your parents oppose your playing runescape, you might try to convince them that it's a worthwhile expense. Say it's a cheap escape from reality, which you need due to all the stress. You can also bring up that it's much cheaper than alcohol and drugs, and far less damaging than other methods of escaping from the real world.

Yep, that works for me, just don't talk to them about combat parts. I told them about them, then it took a month of saying "But I won't really be using combat!" to get them to buy it.

 

 

 

Visa Gift Cards also work.

Have a mobile phone? Why don't you just pay by SMS? To me it seems like the most instant and no hassle way to pay (that rhymes :lol:). As long as you can get the money and top up your phone yourself, there should be no way of your parents knowing, unless they read through you inbox...
