Zombie Plans-Revised

Main Weapon: Model 700 XCR Tactical Long Range

Secondary Weapon: Trench Knife

Preffered weapon setup?

Also, punishment is stupid. If somene genuinely does something bad, we tie them up, slit their throat destroy their brain, and throw 'em over the wall.

That setup looks pretty good except I'd have a revolver or semi-auto handgun as a secondary since with a trench knife you're getting closer than you want to the zombie. It's fine for a hand held weapon though since it is pretty effective.

I thought dead people couldn't be reanimated as zombies?

Yeah, sorry. I'm used to the infected team member disposal discussion. Carry on with the throat-slitting.

Well, if I remember right, sword, blackdawn, and I are the leaders.

While low rations may hurt one member of the team, it will prevent them from doing bad things in the future.

Ok, I'm bored, so here's the official plan, atleast in my opinion.

This will be at my base location, the power plant in my area. For those of you who don't know, here's a bit about it:

It has a 300,000 gallon oil tank that is kept atleast half full, or more.

It has woodchips (it's a biomass plant) to power a city of 50,000 for anywhere from 1-3 months on site at all times

It has a chainlink fence around it.

The main building is steel, and all the entries are steel. There are two or three entries, plus a giant metal garage.

Inside it's very spacious, so we don't need to worry about being cramped.

There is an observation post on the chimney, about 3 stories or so up, that gives you a 360 degree view of the entire area.

And finally it's in the middle of a big agricultural complex, so raiding the fields would be possible.

Ok now onto the plan. This assumes there are 10-15 people in our group at the plant.

First, we work on barricading the chainlink fences so they are a bit heavier duty. We use whatever is possible for that, be it trees, stone, or giant piles of woodchips.

While doing that, we have small teams raiding the surrounding agricultural area to bring in food for immediate use, as well as seeds for future use inside the compound.

We continue powering the city, because otherwise all the woodchips would rot and be useless anyway. At all times there should be two watchmen on the observation post, armed with scoped rifles and a radio to alert the rest of the team if there are zombies approaching. We get food from surrounding area until winter, and then once it hits winter, all the zombies will freeze. During the sixish months of winter, raiding will take up much of our time. We're close to a city, so we hit the entire area for non-perishables, hopefully enough to get us through until the next winter. During the spring we plant crops. There should be enough space to grow food to feed some of us atleast, and make it so we have to scavenge for less. We will not use the oil reserves unless absolutely necessary. We might be trapped for 20 years, I want to save it for as long as possible. We also will dig a well if possible, as well.

Should zombies breach the fence, the main building should be impenetrable. There are lots of windows on the second floor, not so many on the first floor, so we could kill any zombies from inside the building.

Over the next years we expand our safe-zone so we have more room for agriculture. We could keep bees too, because I know honey is great and all.

The last thing is this: We keep a boat large enough to carry all of us fueled up and ready to go at all times. The beach is maybe half a mile away, and there is an island offshore that would be safe. We would need to take the boat out of the water in the winter, but during the winter zombies wouldn't be a threat so that's not a problem.

Ok. That's it.

Hey... I remember someone saying...

"Good luck doing boring lawyer-y stuff, while we're slaying zombies"

Well, you can be the punisher? And I decide 'em?

Careful, or he will force you to make him a manvich, then he will have your bones on top of his rice crispies.

I think a sandbag barricade behind the doors, with other ways of entry would be better.

That being said, if the zombies freeze, would it not be best to take out as many as we can, while looking for supplies?

Mage, you're just giving me ideas.

Though really, he can take care of the boring stuff while I slay zombies, if it is required.

It's near a city, but I don't think the first thought in people's heads when they think "safe from zombies" is the old biomass power plant on the outskirts of town. I would be them majority of people would go to the costco, haha.

Only one flaw I can see: don't you think hundreds of people will flock to a secure building like this? (If there are a lot of people in your area, that is.)

Official looking uniforms + radiation related to zombie outbreak BS. ;)

Costco would be a great choice, atleast the one near me, if no one else would go to it. There are so many things of non-perishables there you could last for years without leaving. But people will swarm there.

Or a massive conflagration to scare people off. I think wood chips would do the trick.

Yeah, there's one fairly close to here. It's huge with a assload of food and other things.

If I remember right, theres even one part cut off with a chain-link fence, though it is small.

Are there going to be times where we can sit on our [wagon] and relax during this zombie apocalypse?

That all depends on how well our plans work out. I'm sure there would be some time for that if we spent 10 years in a secured location waiting for it to end. Probably not much time before that though.

I say we attempt to replicate the judge/jury system, except you can't be let off free.

Anyways, are there trees/a forest around this place? It would cut down on visibility, but we could cut down the trees for our flaming woodchip catapults. Thing is, we might run out of rope/ whatever we cut to fire it. Would a steel chain on one of the spool-like things work (I'm not an expert.)?

Are there going to be times where we can sit on our [wagon] and relax during this zombie apocalypse?

No. Constant training/ defenses building/ food gathering is required.

We shall work on a system of 12 hour shifts.

Work 12 hours, then you get 12 hours to do what you want, including sleep. So yes, there will be time to relax.

After a year of lurking tif as a guest, I finally make an account :ohnoes:

Anyways, if an outbreak occurred, I would rush to the store and get tons of non-perishables, and then gather the whole family at our main house. Considering its 3 miles away from town and up in the mountains, there wont be very many zombies around. Pretty much all of the men in the family have experience with firearms, including me (4 years practice). Heck, mabe I could set up a west coast outpost for this zombie defense team. Of course if things go bad I find the powerplant and help guard. Also an experienced irl farmer

Man, I hate to post something semi-on-topic, but I think I caught onto something important just now, and it applies for 90% of all the people here. If you can talk with your significant other in-depth and devise an amazing, complicated plan together while she shares the same enthusiasm as you, then you have indeed found the one.

Okay, I suggest we have a court like system for when people in our community commit a crime.

The punishment and duration would be provided then and there.

For the woodchips, I agree that we should power the city, but only for a certain period of time (2 or 3 months?)

This is enough time to attract people to add to our group, and hopefully will allow us to be at least a little picky about who we choose to join us and who is zombie fodder.

With a bit of luck, we should end up with around 25-30 people?

We need lots of handheld radio/walkie talkie devices, all connected together, and only very dim lighting in the night.

I'd say we should dig a well as soon as possible, it will make life much more comfortable.

I agree with you about the bees, they take up little space if positioned and build correctly.

I would think we should reinforce the fence a few times over during the initial outbreak, as there will be a higher ghoul density than afterwards.

Uh, no. If we do it right we'll have a compound that is virtually impenetrable with a large stock of food. Plenty of time for [wagon]-sitting.

Weapon training? Electricity generation by way of power bike?
