Seraphi
Yeah, I'd try to put rails and hatches on the roof of each carriage, giving you a better position to shoot from if necessary, and making sure nobody falls off. Eventually, this would be upgraded into a full second story, with holes to shoot out from. Of course, this is thinking long term. A well built, two story train would essentially be a mobile fortress. The_Mather1
Mobile = Replenishable supplies. Therefore, trains are better.Supplies are no problem; raid the shop 100m away and the three large shops 500m away, then there'd be resources enough to feast (yes feast) for a few months. Wisp
Another option similar to trains, with a bit more risk, but more maneuverability would be Semi trucks. Go to a place that sells them, siphon the diesel out of all the trucks except for two. Put into barrels etc. Load the barrels into one of the trucks, load all your supplies into the other. Then just drive on the highways. There's a pretty low chance of the entire highway being blocked, and moving cars would be possible if you had enough people.Or, just go siphon all the gas out of the trucks, and bring it to a train so you have enough to go for even longer, to work with the Train idea. Seraphi
I prefer the train since there is a lot more space.
Wisp
Oh, and mather, there is no way you would be able to get all the supplies out, and to the building. Also, everyone else is gonna want supplies. You'll be lucky to get a few weeks supplies. Hegemony-Spain
The_Mather1
I alone couldn't, but around 400 people with 100 cars could if they cooperated. Twitter: @TheMather1

Wisp
How do you plan to do that? And I highly doubt the stores would feed 400 people for months. Hegemony-Spain
Seraphi
You forget the main rule of mass teamwork. People Are Stupid. Those 400 people will be panicking, and grabbing as much as they can for themselves, then running to the hills. Assuming somebody has not already barricaded the entire shop. Which is why, realistically, you want a group of 10-15 people, each one bringing their own supplies from a house to the nearest train station. That also reminds me, a train is good since it means people can quickly pick friends up from a different town.
Wisp
That's good too, assuming that the trains go near there. Also, if you're real lucky, you might be able to get a fuel train, extending how far you can go by a huuuge amount. Hegemony-Spain
The_Mather1
Yeah, cuz around 50 teenagers, 75 kids, 75 young adults 25fat people, 75 old people and 150 regular adults, only a few of them dumber than avarage, would run for the hills and care not to do something rational? People here know eachother enough to cooperate. And those stores I said were large are really large, and sell almost exlusively food. Seraphi
I seriously doubt that during a zombie outbreak/apocalypse people would have the sense to work together in that large a group. No matter how organised you think people in your town are, unless they undergo some kind of daily obediance training, they would not work together in that way. People in my (Relatively small) town know each other, and I know that if there was a virus outbreak, 95% of the population would be panicking. Earth
hey doom.. why dont you play dungeoneering anymore? mrg, i go with the traijn idea. i jsut would have others drive the train for me. i aint good with complicated, technical things. easy, understandable things yes. such as, keeping a train defended from zombies. you just need to keep em off the train/ Youtube account: Earthgragonsage; currently uploading not an effing thing.[hide=Memorable Crossroads Quotes.]Reigan: NO MOOSE CAN SAVE US NOW; ...Had that been taken out of context, it would have been comical... Seraphi
The train idea is better purely due to the mobility. If the building gets surrounded by zombies and people are unable to get outside, things will eventually snap and go to hell. Be it the barricaded windows, or the minds of the people inside. Regardless of how perfect you believe norwegians are, they are still human, and a lot of them will be badly affected by the zombies moaning and the fact that they are in the middle of a damned apocalypse. With a train, if you get surrounded by zombies, switch the engines up, and you get the hell to a safer location where people can go outside without getting butchered. It might be 5000+ for all I know. Twitter: @TheMather1
