Today i decided to do a barrows run, first in months, since the prices are going dowwwwwwn. right? well, i got bored. so i did one.

 

 

 

anywho. i did the normal, equipped armor, grabbed runes, and was on my way, but i noticed something.

 

 

 

no rings of life in my bank. :?

 

me being the lazy noob that i am, looked for substitues, and since im not making one (lazyyy :roll:) i scrounged around,

 

duel ring? no.

 

wealth? no.

 

 

 

then i looked... and wham, ring of charos A, right there.

 

 

 

it has like a power on Npc's, so i decided to try it at barrows.

 

well, run went normal, pwned karil, melee bros.

 

ahrim tunnel :x

 

so i pwned him too :thumbsup:

 

then i went around... and well, messed up the puzzle. :oops:

 

so i went around, the door was close. so i solved it and opened the chest.

 

however, i dont just open at the place (weird super stition thingy for luck)

 

so.. i looked at my spell book, and... no chaos spells? so no chaos

 

checked blood, i had 40 blood runes.

 

checked death and mind spells, and well.. same as when i came. just 100 or so casts down, at this time im thinking... WTF did i get?? :-k

 

 

 

i teleport to house, recharge pray, go to bank and low and behold

 

GUTHAN SPEAR AND CHAIN SKIRT.

 

 

 

now, im too lazy and my comp is too.. crappy.. to do any experiments with it but first run in so long. and i get a double drop?

 

(2nd spear btw.)

 

 

 

i know theres going to be some idiot who goes

but i have the spear in my bank, same with skirt.

 

 

 

my question is. can ring of charos actually affect barrows drops?

 

 

 

my drops were: 40 bloods, 36 racks, spear and chain skirt.

 

13 kills

 

messed up puzzle once.

 

 

 

with the ring of charos, best drop ive ever had.

 

idk, im suggesting to bring the charos ring. its definitely not that much of a loss. however still use the ROL if you're still newish to barrows.

 

 

 

Post your thoughts, AND if you use a ROC (a), tell me if you get anything.

The Ring affects NPC's you talk to, there's an option to coerce them.

 

 

 

It wouldn't have any effect on the barrows.

You're assuming huge things from a single trip. Say what, you do 100 trips with a Rol and a RoC (each), write down each and every drop and if there's a distinct difference, the maybe this would be worth some thought.

That still isnt enough information.

 

 

 

Ive seen people go on 100+ run dry streaks while others get numerous items in way fewer trips.

 

 

 

The only way is to ask jagex and all there going to tell you is that its luck and purely coincidental.

Ah, missed that, I tend to skim through topics that are just, well, silly. If you follow the story line of quests you will see that it's completely illogical to assume something as remote to the quest as barrows would be affected by the RoC.

 

 

 

Also true that 100 might not suffice, I was just trying to get the point across that you should do thorough tests before making huge claims. :P

my ring of charos is my "lucky" ring for getting clues, but it's 100% superstition. it has no real power, except for giving me false hope that i'll get a clue faster :-$

Well since it only happened 1 time it was probly just luck. Saruman got a triple drop and im pretty sure he wasnt wearing one. if you really wanna test this you have to get these good drops in more then 1 run.

i'm just gonna say it was luck. I don't think i've ever worn a ring to barrows lol...
