Random? You're logic makes it seem like for every 100,000 players there are 70k range capes and 10k slayer capes. You ahven't seen enough players to know how many people have the capes. Check the number of 99'ers in the hiscores for more accurate info...

tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :(
But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities.
That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Those PETA bastards will never see it coming until the porcupines are half way up their asses.

Apparently a lot of people say it. I own.

if u ever played rsc every skill took longer to gain experience and when the highscores showed how difficult ranging was considerin i was top 2k for 69 ranged. and not even half a year after rs2's release, there was easily 15-20k people with 80+ ranged. and im not complaining cause i dont care, i just hate when people like you think any skill on rs2 was precious when u acheived 99 and then complain about how others are getting the same skill to 99 fast too

Classic is past now and RS2 is a much better game and beside you had such a high rank on RSC because the skill was useless and lacked content...the only real use to it was hit once or twice somebody in the wild before they reach you  the skill is much more deep now so obviously more people want to train it.

Reasons

-Flowover from Jagex making range their favorite combat class and making crossbows the new rangewhip

-Cheap bone bolts

-Cheaper chins and an influx of 83/99 hunters

-Cheap pots make it easier to use chins/higher level range training

-Armadyl/bosses must be killed by range

-Avianasies great range training/money

-Bounty hunter/new updates give people at 97-98 range an opportunity/incentive to grab 99

-More time on holidays to play and get range goals

-New 99 rangers are more likely to wear range cape

Reasons why they'll become less people getting it every day/more rare

-As new 99 rangers get other 99s they'll wear those capes

-Speed of many range weapons has been lowered: these include crossbows, bone crossbows, chinchompas

-Increasing/dropping prices make people unsure to buy items because they wait for the rock bottom price

-New rangeable features such as bounty hunter, clan wars, mithril dragons, GWD, etc. become less popular and people don't get their range exp from monsterhunting

It is very likely. Tank rangers are a nice thing to have. They pretty much own anything, and hit quite nicely. Not to mention potential safespot training (no food). A lot of meleers are also looking for more HP xp, and feel that range is good for it (even though its the same as melee). I myself already have 99 str, and have now taken up the challenge of 99 range. Overall it is just for 99 HP, but range is fun. ::'

I will still call the game Runescape, btw.

yeah, cause 40k chins = 99 hunter

but 40k chins = 7m range exp at best

and seeing as theres about 5 times as many rangers as hunters.. No.

I'm going to have to disagree with you.

I took a 2 level break from chinchompas and ended up with 47,160 at 99 hunter.

Between 90-95 range I have consistently averaged 210 experience a chinchompa. This puts the exp at 8.4 million for 40k chins and 9.9m for my 47,160.

If we go with a conservative of 200 exp per chinchompa and 45k chins per 99 hunter, we come with 9m range exp from every 99 hunter.

Since hunter just came out late 2006 and the chin spot wasn't discovered until mid-january, and since the price has recently come down to 750 and less, is it really that surprising?

Just a lot of people that decided to make the jump to 99 because they can do it easily with red chins

i did some range training with grays as testing theories, and i cross referenced it with muggi. reds surely are the fastest, but gray are the cheap fast method.

muggi was averaging 200 exp per red, and then he was averaging 170 with gray. me, personally on probably my worst testing experience i got 168 exp per chin.

but you know, i dont like chins all that much i prefer using metal bolts.

This proves nothing.

There is no doubt that some of those people also had a strength/attack cape but chose to wear a range cape because its harder to get than being a PC product.

Also maybe yuo were hanging out on a world where a range clan goes, or maybe afew friends were going on a happy ranging trip. Maybe even an old staking world where high range is common for bolt use.

Also you'd need a bigger survey.

Tooo many un-controlled factors to suddenly announce that this is range-scape.

Becouse you couldnt train range at pc right? oh wait you could, so your whole post fails =D>

400 chins an hour hunting doesnt add up to 200k + range exp. I know what you mean but the fact im saying is chins are not easy to get and i doubt are the reason there are alot of range capes these days.

I love how everyone acts like 99 isn't a monumental achievement because 10,000-30,000 other people have it. How many of those people have quit the game and how many accounts are there in runescape. No one cares that you got withing 2k people back in rs1, Guess what there wasn't as many people playing back then for one and secondly there has been so many years to raise your stats that a lot more people will have a 99 skill. Stop being jealous that you aren't the only one and get over it.
