[hide=Unbalanced Trade Removal Article]Unbalanced Trade Removal:

From this moment on, no unbalanced trades may be made. This applies to every player, on every world, no matter if you are free-to-play or a member.

To read more about why we have made this change, please read the Development Diary: RuneScape vs Real-world Trading.

We would like to remind you that the Grand Exchange is a great option for buying or selling items, where you can purchase items at 5% above or below their market price. Additionally, balanced trades are still possible.

New 30,000gp Trade Margin!:

Note: The following changes only apply if you are on a members' world.

Today, we have made a change to the planned 3,000gp trade margin for today's release. Instead, we are basing your trade margin on the number of Quest Points you have, giving you more flexibility when making balanced trades.

Having read your Forum posts and noted all of your feedback, we have come to the decision that you should have a margin of up to 30,000gp!

Originally, the total value of any items being given in a balanced trade would have had to be within a margin of 3,000gp of the items being received. Instead, we are increasing this margin according to the number of quests you have completed. As an example, a player who has 150 Quest Points will be able to receive items with a market value of 21,000gp above or below the items they are receiving.

No matter how many Quest Points you have, it will take 15 minutes before your gp limit resets.

Any individual trade is limited by the lower of the two players' limits. For example, if a player with 100 Quest Points is trading with a player on 30 Quest Points, then both players will be limited to a 3,000gp difference every 15 minutes.

The table below will give you a rough idea of the value that applies to you.

QP Trade Margin

200 or more 30,000

190 28,200

180 26,400

170 24,600

160 22,800

150 21,000

140 19,200

130 17,400

120 15,600

110 13,800

100 12,000

90 10,200

80 8,400

70 6,600

60 4,800

50 or less 3,000

Your limit increases for every Quest Point that you gain. As more quests are introduced, with more Quest Points, we may decide to increase the above values.

For more information on unbalanced trades, please read the Knowledge Base article.

Duel Arena:

It is not only trades that are affected by Quest Points. We have also increased the staking cap for Duel Arena, in the same way. Using the table in the '3,000gp Rule Changes' section, you will be able to find out your new limit for gaining or losing items in staked duels. This does not apply to duel tournaments.

This increase also applies to the Rat Pits minigames.

For more information on the Duel Arena stake cap, please read the Knowledge Base article.[/hide]

I believe that F2P deserves a higher Trading & Staking cap than a pathetic 3k. We have recieved the Duel Arena (happily) to realize we're rendered useless in Staking by a 3k limit and yet members get a chance to raise that limit? Why can't f2p get that chance? How hard can it be?

Why not come up with a new design instead of Quest Points?

Ideas:

- Based on your Combat level?

- Totally different F2P Quest Point system that includes your total level

- Based on amount of play-time you've had

More suggestions are welcome!!

My brother and I were saying that we should have 5k trading cap with 39-50 QP, so at least the F2P'ers who care would get a little more.

Or, maybe they could add quest points based on total level and make up some ratio for F2P'ers for so many levels = so many quest points.

Hell, I would trade the 8 spaces back in a hot second for the trading cap to be gone.

Support 100%

Paying for free trade O_o Uhh...

I would trade 16 spaces...

This update is the one that effected me the most. The other ones in the last few months did not personally bother me but this is ridiculous. I don't care about the cap raising to 30k because it is still useless. The only option in my eyes is to remove trade cap.

I agree completely. I do not even understand why Jagex did the unbalanced trade, as RWT'ing was non existent with the previous updates. This was just a waste of time.

I engineered this thread with precise variables that I know would cause lul-worthy flames.

Yeah I totally agree.

The 3k limit is just pathetic. I mean, even F2P have some high-leveled people who want to trade expensive stuff.

Also the stakes. What's the point of battling anyways, with those 3k stakes!

100% Support.

Adding this would be beneficial to both F2P AND P2P so I don't see the problem in adding it

How about a 15k limit which recharges 1k per minute?

Then the following values would be for P2P:

Quest Cape 55,000

210++++ 52,000

200 - 209 50,000

190 - 199 42,200

180 - 189 40,400

170 - 179 38,600

160 - 169 36,800

150 - 159 34,000

140 - 149 32,200

130 - 139 30,400

120 - 129 28,600

110 - 119 26,800

100 - 109 24,000

090 - 099 22,200

080 - 089 20,400

070 - 079 18,600

060 - 069 16,800

050 or less 15,000

I added 2 values, and 12,000 to each (applying what I thought would be adequete)

Quest Cape people get a 25,000 increase. That should decrease the numbness of losing such an advantage to non payers!

You don't actually know that it was because of the campaign that Jagex gave you bankspace. I bet heaps of f2ps who've never heard of tip it sent queries to Jagex about f2p bankspace.

The amount of time you've been playing is a good idea, seen it before but would definitely benifit everyone.

Or you could pay for features like this which is probably the point?

Be. Quiet.

We aren't bringing F2P vs. P2P discussions in here. F2P has always been the only choice for lots of people, so don't you try to deal with it. Unless you want to give free membership to all F2Pers, I'm sure nobody would have a problem with that.

I think it should be based on play time, in which case I would immediately get the 30k cap- check my siggy.

Kindly shut up and edit the F2P vs. P2P out of your post before any more F2Pers see that. Or feel free to get flamed right out of your pants.

I repeat, NOT EVERYONE can afford a membership!

Ugh not another F2P who thinks he has the right to more stuff...

Jagex won't give anymore bank space, stake increases or trade increases no matter how many threads, websites or general moan-a-thons are created. Why should people who don't pay get more things that cost the company money. P2Pers get new stuff, that costs money to create and design, because we pay them to do it. If they wanted Jagex could shut down F2P land forever and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it.

You should be lucky and grateful that they let you play and use their game at all.

Think of it as a school playground... Some people would only let their friends play their game that they invented and wouldn't let the others in without trust/friendship.

Now put this into Jagex's perspective. They will let you play their invented game if you pay them a little money.

Kids = Jagex

Friendship/trust = Money

Game = RuneScape benefits

Sorry for the long reply and rather confusing explanation but some people reall yod need to get it into their heads. And sorry if i came off a little harsh.

Although I disagree with the trading cap as a whole, I'll have to disagree here.

Addressing a point, why would you guys complain about the staking cap right after you have received the Duel Arena update? It was never going to be an F2P aspect of the game when it first started, so you guys should be grateful. Jagex could've left you there WITH the trading cap and without the duel arena, but they were gracious enough to give you a little bit of fun. Now look, I'm F2P at the moment but I still object to where you guys have added content. For a free game, you guys sure get a hell of alot of updates. The reason why the staking/trading cap isn't being raised for the free to players is because it's easier to create accounts that you don't have to pay money for, and is essentially quicker to RWT. So although I disagree with this horrible trading cap, I'll object to raising the cap for F2P.

this tomic made me a little mad, that right after you get the deul arena you beg for it to be better, you should be happy you evan got it.

idc about bots, they never do anything i do, but it seems like f2p begs for everything, i was a f2p i didnt beg or care about bank space i just sold my extra stuff, i would be happy we got deuling, so jsut dont stake if you dont like the prices

Ok, what the hell was that? Did someone take a hammer and bash your fingers in so you can't type right or something? If they didn't I think I might use that as a punishment. Ok, the tomic thing could be a type-o. Wait, how could it be if the m is all the way down near the space bar, but, the p is all the way up near the backspace key. Either you plain [developmentally delayed]ed and just mash the keyboard with your good ol' sausage fingers hoping you hit the right keys.

So, apparently you read the title, and like the thick skulled infant ogre you are, you just saw the word F2P and started having a fit. Honestly, we like the duel arena, but, we would just like some changes to it. Duh we are grateful and happy we got it. It is like getting a free taco from taco bell on that day where they give them away. Of course you are glad you got a free taco, but, say the taco tastes like someone wiped their [wagon] on the lettuce and put 5x the normal amount of salt in there to cover it up. Do you think that person is going to say, oh well, I got it for free. I know quite a few people would try to get a new one because of the poor quality.

And, who is Evan? You just randomly started talking about some Evan guy in the middle of your post. Wait, it isn't a person named Evan, it is you being a moron and misspelling even. Even seems like a word that even a second grader should be able to spell. Hell, the spanish teacher's toddler knows how to spell even. Are you smarter than a toddler? I think you gave me the answer.

Ok, so, you don't care about bots because they never do anything you do. So, I assume you mean they don't compete with you for training spots and whatnot. But, they do influence you whether you know it or not. Honestly, there is no way you can play runescape without in some way being affected by bots.

This isn't begging. This thread is suggesting that we get a higher trading/staking cap. Out of curiosity, how high of a level did you get in F2P. It doesn't seem like you even experienced F2P that long. We sell our extra items to get additional spaces. Unfortunately, that wasn't enough. The answer was obvious. More bank space.

However, the bank space update is said and done. It has happened, it isn't an issue anymore. Don't make an [wagon] of yourself and make it an issue. I am curious why you started talking about bank space in the first place. It isn't even relevant to this discussion. This is about the trading/staking cap. Not bank space! Your like that moron f2ph8er, or jacklecrawl or whoever who started talking about Abraham Lincoln in the middle of the thread.

Now that we have established that, we are just suggesting that the trading/staking cap is higher. The trading cap is much more important to me and, I am sure, many of the other supporters here. I am going to repeat myself here because you just brought up something I just rebutted. We are happy that we got the update. It said that on the first post, and, if you pull your god damned head out of your own [wagon] for 5 seconds, get out from under the rock your living under and actually look at any of the threads or talk to any of F2P player, you would know that they are happy that they got this update. I know they probably wouldn't want to talk to you for long, because your an annoying pain in the [wagon] who gets his perverted jollies out of prancing around saying that F2P players don't deserve any of these updates.

I am going to come back to the fact that you don't capitalize your I's or use apostrophes. I want to bash you over the head with the stupid hammer (wouldn't have a negative effect on you because you are already too stupid for it to effect you) until you get the fact you should use proper English in a forum. Hell, at least try. Trying is better than not trying. I would much rather see a guy at least making an attempt.

Ok, so, it looks like that just about sums it up. This is about trading mainly, not staking. The Staking cap is a minor part of this. I would still like it, but, I am more interested in the Trading cap. Seeing how they go together, you can't exactly separate them.
