Things to keep in mind:

 

- Use the Whistle (Never seen you used it once in the match)

 

- Olimar is about surprise, using the same move over and over again doesn't do you any good

 

- Never fling all your Pikmen, ever. Use in moderation

 

- When coming back after losing a stock, don't get all 6 Pikmen back at once, otherwise you are open to the opponent's attacks

 

- Olimar should never Edgehog, only Edge Guard, mainly with F-air and D-air if you are feeling lucky

 

- Keep track of Pikmen color, if a White one is next, then don't use F-Smash, etc

 

- N-air has monstrous priority, use it to get out of a combo

 

- Grabbing is good, but using it too often leaves you open

 

- If the opponent is hanging on the edge, grab them after the invincibility frames (Only character that can grab opponents hanging)

 

 

 

You did much better in the end, and for that, good job!

ive always thought of dedede as my favorite brawl character...but olimar is really fun and is a character that seems like a challenge to truly master. cant wait to get better and brawl again :

- Olimar should never Edgehog, only Edge Guard, mainly with F-air and D-air if you are feeling lucky - Do a reverse fast fall something... where you run off the ledge, and fastfall to instantly grab the ledge. Every character should edgehog.

 

- Keep track of Pikmen color, if a White one is next, then don't use F-Smash, etc

 

- N-air has monstrous priority, use it to get out of a combo

 

- Grabbing is good, but using it too often leaves you open - Just don't spam it

 

- If the opponent is hanging on the edge, grab them after the invincibility frames (Only character that can grab opponents hanging)I think even after you lose your invinsibility frames tether's can't grab the ledge, although they can hit you.

Edgehogging with Olimar is risky business, because if you get hit and you hit the edge surface, you are going down. Its more like every character should edgehog against Olimar. So I prefer to try and [bleep]e (Even though its like impossible on WiFi).

if you were any character other than olimar i wouldnt have, but since you were him and i knew you could easily beat me in head on middle of the stage, i had to try and see if i could out edge hog you...if that makes any sense :)

wow lots of talk about olimar today. i think a good strategy is that if you don't want a certain kind of pikmin just throw them off edges so they die and you pluck more.. can be time consuming though

Olimar's grabs are awesome :o, he doesn't fit my play style though. When I played against SS4Alex, I plucked my pikmin near the edge and they all fell off :lol:.

wolf matches mine well, im not quite used to hit aerial attacks though

i love using dedede personally, he may very well be my best character, but ive never played on wifi with him so i dunno

When I play anyone, friends or wifi, I always choose random. I'm just really good with all characters, cept Kirby can't stand to use him, and it's my forte. I don't want my oponents to know who I will play as when I'm on player select. Don't like people strategizing against me before the game has begun. But I don't have bests, I have favorites. Ike, wolf, and lucario ftw!

His Bair is godly. Honestly, people can win a game with just that move. Some guy posted on a video of 3-stocking a level 9 like that. :?

 

I'm getting good at using the Fsmash, though it's so slow. Not like I really need smashes, Utilt and Dtilt are great killers too...

if you can time it right, his side smash can k0 someone with like 40% lol. i personally use his aerial things when i fight others. he can float like kirby and pwn edge guarders then grab the edge they were holding.

If you sweetspot a fully charged Fsmash, you can kill at 17%, and if it's against someone really light (...Fox?) perhaps a bit lower. Of course, the chances of that happening in a real game are next to none.

 

I'd actually say he has maybe the second or third best recovery, definitely top 5. Pit is way too easy to gimp, ROB beats him, Metaknight and Kirby are close, but Dedede has a better Up-B. (AND IT [bleep]ES!@)

Oh right, that's just me, since I can't figure out how to get Metaknight's Up+B to go the way I want to. And yes, I know how to glide...It just dies on me because I suck.
