Fun.

I heard some horror stories about people getting banned for buying an item off the AH that was sold by a gold farmer. They really are trigger happy now, I'm amazed you got unbanned.

Yea, I heard about that. There was a few topics in General I think, people kept saying they got banned because they bought resources/items from gold farmers.

Reason is you're not suppose to buy from known gold farmers....which is dumb for two reasons:

1. How are we suppose to know that they've been labeled as gold farmers?

2. If they are known, why aren't they banned?

Okay, three months.

Thats 90 days. All MMORPGs have their growing pains, 3 months is nothing.

You can't look at WoW and just say "I want my game to be that polished out of the gate." I've seen plenty of threads where folks talked about how bad WoW was during its first year.

I can totally understand that there are people who don't like AoC. But posting another thread about the "End" of a major MMORPG after only 3 months seems excessive.

WoW's server issues were all fixed within 3 months, Blizzard gave out tons of free time and apologized a lot. LoTRO had much more added in content in 3 months. [bleep], even Vanguard was doing better once SOE got its hands on it (maybe not 3 months, closer to 4?)

3 months is a lot of time to where they haven't really fixed A SINGLE [bleep]ING IMPORTANT THING. I don't give a [cabbage] if these mobs are naked now or if this guy's spelling was corrected. The PvP patch or PvP levels that were supposed to be IN LAUNCH are still not here. The memory leak which they've claimed to "cure" 3 times now IS WORSE THEN EVER. Stats, while they kinda-sorta work, are still [bleep]ing useless. Sieges still lag the [bleep] out of people, Raid content is still bugged beyond belief and you really can not raid past T1 (if that) without encountering bugs in which they make the raid near impossible.

*inhales deeply*

They still have not added in any content from levels 50-80. The only thing they did was update Black Castle (who gives a [bleep] about a lvl 30 place) and updated the Pyramid (lvl 30, who cares?). They have no clue about class balance, as the Dark Templars are still [bleep]ing useless and the one shoting is extreme. Even the most simple of issues to fix (a loot table issue in which players could get upwards of 4-5 epics an hour) took Funcom 3 days to hotfix, allowing players to destroy the already shattered economy with cheap epics.

Mounted combat is a buggy piece of [cabbage] that is not near what they hyped, in fact if you try and fight on your mount you're a [developmentally delayed] because you actually gimp yourself for doing it.

And aside from all of this there are still numerous graphical issues which I am amazed got past the alpha of the game.

Oh, and DX10 which was supposed to be in game at launch is still not in game and IIRC is slated for a 2009 release. They actually had the balls to put on the back of the game "Optimized for DX10" when they are clearly lying.

And speaking of that, the minimum/recommended specs are bull.

That is all that is wrong with the game and what they have not fixed. Even the female attack speed they ended up making a worse mess of by making males attack slower, nerfing it instead of just fixing the problem.

Funcom has had plenty of time and the only thing they can do is put out lowbie content. You know why? Because guess what reviewers are going to play first!

Phew, that was a hell of a rant. :D

Little rant of mine (bored at work...almost over) about the problems of the game summed up in a couple of paragraphs.

Lol. I'm done with this, Funcom is garbage. Tired of the bugs, graphical bugs, quest bugs, etc. Like i can't even open my bag and bank at the same time, one does not show any graphics. The economy is busted, the lag is HORRIBLE, servers are some of the most unstable i've ever played on in a game......its bad. Funcom doesn't help themselves when they refuse to look into this stuff. Sure a game doesn't get built in a day, but at least let your players know whats going on and that you are aware of your problems and flaws.

Age of Conon holds a lot of good ideas, maybe some game in the future will take those ideas and run with them, making them work. I'm done with AoC and Funcom. I made it to level 60, and got bored.

What exactly do you do at work, or what, that you have so much free time? Lol...?

But yea, you summed it up nicely...Except you sorta missed out on the random bug encounters past 60...>.>

Web design man. :P Actually have a lot of free time because my last day is next Thursday (college starting up again soon).

Web Design? Shouldn't you be 'designing' something then? =P

Not when there is anything left to design, lol. I'm just waiting on some info for the current website.

And anyways I'm home now.

Cancelled my sub too. In the 3 months the games been out they've fixed none of the important stuff, and not given any of the 80 players something to do. AoC can go die in a fire for all I care, I'd rather play a korean MMO, which I will be in 2009 when Aion comes out.

Korean games...wait I think I heard the sarcasm that KOREANS LOVE GRINDING!@!@!@

Indeed, prime example is: Rappelz.

Good luck, I dare anyone to play that for longer than a month and not stab themselves. It's worse than AoC, it's like losing the content at 60, but instead it's at level 20. No crafting system either!

Hey, I love Korean MMORPGs. I like grinding. ::' (I'm not Korean though. Taiwanese...Close enough)

According to Xfire, I played Rappelz for 25 hours. Silkroad Online..324 hours. :? Something like 430 hours of MMORPGs in total, not including RuneScape, all free. :|

I can't wait until Aion. It's my next hope. (If it's free, which I think it is...Otherwise, it's WAR) Hope it doesn't fail. Like AoC.

Edit: You're right Nadril, apparently it'll probably be $15 a month. Either my standards are too high, or free MMORPGs are really sucking these days. Probably both...

Pretty sure Aion is p2p. Also Korean grinds can be fun, one of my favorite MMOs is Lineage II. Although, more-so Lineage II on private servers then retail.

Aion is p2p, and is said to be a Korean MMO with EU/US gameplay (eg: you have a choice between grinding or questing, as they both give the same xp/hour).

Yea, I'm not keen on Aions fantasy style, I prefer WoW/WAR's look if I'm honest, though I'd rather not start a MMO that's already out. WAR looks more PvP, Aion is a mix of both, I hear they already have 30 raid boss encounters in the game. It does look quite fun though, the flying combat, the amazing graphics, and the PvP actually looks fun, and I'm a "If I want PvP I'll play a FPS" guy.

So they either aren't past level 50 and enjoy it, or there's like what one person still playing but with his wife, and helping her...

Yea, great job funcom!

That one person was also why our guild had their guild, EPIC, kos'd lol.

I think it's safe to say this game is officially dead to us now.

I was going to eat hot dogs for dinner tonight. I think I will settle for cereal.

Hmmm from impressions of what people have seen in the beta people arent too impressed.Age of conan got a lot of good impressions from the beta but people are getting bad vives from WAR, hopefully its just the typical work in progress that all MMO's go through and closer we get to release it picks up in peoples oppinions but its beta is certainly not being received aswell from the gaming press as AoC was.By that i dont mean the warhammer nuts who have been writing there character lore for the past 3 years declaring every game [cabbage] till it comes out but regular gaming media.

Oh and wasnt there a 360 AoC in the works?Because microsoft's policy is that it must take no more than 4gb of space on teh HD and that if it doenst you have to change the game by implementing low res models and textures, rip content out and downsize the game :wall: Thats a reason why wow has been courted by the console makers but the deal has quickly deteriorated once they realise the assets it would take so AoC? :?

Do we read the same sites? Everywhere I go (mmorpg.com, massively.com) people are ecstatic for WAR. Like, are there any links to (non trolls) that explain their dislike of the game?

The NDA should be dropping sometime this week now, I can't wait for all the information.
