It was true for a while, they're ok now, still AoE beasts. ToS in my guild was hitting 8k I'm hitting 1k lol.

Might be using crafted gear. My 80 ToS only hits for like 1k :S.

Not using gemmed gear is just asking to die. Also a non-gemmed ToS can hit up to 3k-4k at the moment because of an exploit, or I think it's the ToS, with lightning strike?

Ding 64. Should be 70 by friday.

I'm currently 63, and it's crap trying to find a quest. The hell levels, 60 to 65. >.>

When do the vast majority of quests in Thunder River and Atzel's become doable?

He was in T2/T1/gemmed gear. He was using something called Lighting Call or something which allowed pretty damn high hits. My AoE nuke is maybe 3k max unless I go all out.. Though, this was on the death camp masters, 2-6 levels lower.

Lightnings call is an instant crit.

That'd explain it :P

Yeah ToS really only hit "hard" if they're both decked out and crit. With the inc gem nerf the damage should take a hit.

The PvP Patch FAQ:

http://forums-tl.ageofconan.com/showthread.php?t=35914

Here is a brief explanation of the basics of the new PvP systems. Everything listed here may not be in the current build on Testlive, and does not necessarily reflect the final system.

PVP Levels and XP

* There are 10 PVP levels.

* All players are worth 100 PvP XP when killed by a similar level player.

* When you die in PvP, you lose PvP XP. The amount you lose is static, regardless of the level of player who killed you.

* Losing PVP XP will not de-level you in PvP level.

* In order to prevent abuse of the system, there is a limit set on how many times one player can gain or lose PvP XP from another.

* You gain normal PVE XP when you are involved in a PVP kill. If you or your team get credit for a PVP kill, then you gain a certain amount of PVE experience from that kill. You get 10% of the XP from that player as though he were a monster of that level. You always get a minimum of 1 xp.

PVP Items

You can buy PVP items with normal money (there is no special currency for PVP). However, your PvP level will have to meet the requirements (if any) on any items you wish to use.

* Items are not tradeable

* Sold by PvP vendors

Notoriety System

A player is flagged in three different ways using this system: innocent, criminal, and murderer.

* Criminals and Murderers will have an icon showing their status.

* Innocent : No one can perform hostile actions on you without being flagged as a Criminal.

* Criminal : Performing a hostile action on an Innocent player will flag you as a Criminal for 5 minutes. Any further Criminal acts during the 5 minute time will refresh your Criminal Status.

* Attacking Criminal players and/or killing them will not flag you as Criminal.

* Killing Criminal Players will not cause you to gain murder points.

* Murderer : Players who have attacked and killed innocent players enough times to generate 100 or more points will be flagged as Murderers. Killing lower level players (outside your XP range) will result in a larger penalty towards the murderer limit.

* Murder score is capped at 1750 points.

* For every other real time hour that passes, your murder score is reduced by 1 point.

* If you die in PvP and lose PvP XP, you will receive a 3 point reduction to your total murder score.

* Killing mobs which yield XP will reduce your murder score at a rate of 1 point per 1% of a level worth of XP. Completing quests for XP will NOT contribute.

* Murderers and Criminals cannot access traders or vendors.

* Guard NPCs will attack murderers on sight.

* Dying while flagged as a murderer results in the following: a. 100% increased loss of PvP XP for the murder b. 100% increased gain of PvP XP for the person killing the murderer c. 100% increased chance of dropping an item.

* Any players interacting with a Criminal or Murderer (that includes grouping with them or trading with them) will be flagged as a Criminal.

* If you group with a Criminal or Murderer, you will be flagged as a Criminal for as long as you are in the team, and 5 minutes after the team disbands (or the Criminal/Murderer leaves the team).

* Any team member performing a criminal act will flag the entire team in the vicinity as a criminal.

What we know:

- You do not gain murder points for killing a same level player, a player 2 levels lower or a higher level player.

- You gain 10 murder points for killing a guy 3-5 levels lower (this scales the lower the level).

- You need 100 murder points to be flagged red, or a murderer. (can drop gear).

- AoE (as long as a mob is targeted) won't hit other players.

- If a player is flagged a criminal (has attacked someone) then a player that kills them will not gain murder points. Likewise if the criminal kills the person attacking him he won't gain murder points.

Essentially this system is being put into place to punish those who kill lower levels (who don't fight back). Murderers (red) can drop pieces of gear (unsure of what gear) and can drop a percentage of their gold. Criminals will be flagged for 5 minutes after attacking a player, being grouped with another criminal / murderer or trading with a murderer.

Murderers will not be able to use traders/vendors (unsure how guild cities pan out yet).

To lose murder points there are a few ways. For one, you lose 1 murder point every other hour. For every 1% of XP you also lose 1 murder point. Everytime you die, you lose 3 murder points.

There are 10 PvP levels. You can lose PvP XP by dying but will never lose a PvP level until after 10. After the 10th there will be ranks (unsure if it's based off K : D or if it is based off of PvP XP afterwards) and you can lose ranks by dying in PvP.

PvP gear will be based upon your PvP level, going from a T1 PvP to a T(x) (unsure) gear. It will cost a little bit of gold and obviously need a certain PvP level to obtain.

I'll try and answer any questions that you guys have about the system, I still am in the dark about several issues though.

The system looks interesting, hopefully it doesn't cause things like 'defending' and 'attacking' issues, like in Rs, non-skulled Vs those who do skull.

I decided to pick up this game along with my new laptop. It looks pretty good, but the only MMO I've played is Runescape, so I'm not sure how well I'd adjust.

This game is fun, you shouldn't have a problem adjusting. Only thing to do would be to set up your own custom keybinds that suit your style best.

Don't forget to play on tyranny.

One word: Tyranny.

Anyone looking for an item database, and possibly a future Bestiary:

www.doomdealer.com

Very good FanSite. Though the item database currently only goes up to about 50-60, in due time it should be at 80 or 99% complete. These are Tradeskill items, or weapons, or armour, or generics, and quest items. So it has several uses. Plus you can submit your own items if they aren't in the database.

In the future they are planning for a crafting area, and to get in sync with competitors of Feat Calcs, and zone areas (even though the zone area is done well).

Kylikki down again last night.. She's doing a weird (and rather random) AoE that wipes everyone in melee range apart from people with very high HP. So you have to keep trying and pray she doesn't do it. I got the t1 demo chest and bracers too, was worth the wipes :)

Not bad and all, but the site looks like [wagon] (as if some high schooler made it or something ;p). Plus I think I'll end up preferring Conan Armory from curse gaming more so.

HoX is 67 now. Also I managed to take on a 3 vs 1 fight, which was a guard/DT/sin vs me. Honestly though it went like this (they attacked first);

They attacked me, so I rooted and ran off a little. Shifted form, hellstep to sin and Pillar of infernal Flame II'd him and imediatly got a 1 shot fatality while the guard/DT tried their burst or CC (so I was immune). Turned around and decimated the DT with 2 combos because he was in frenzy and then finished off the guard.

Fight took like 45 seconds. Of course the fatality deal was lucky because I escaped their CC, but still. I have to say that Desecrating essence + hellstep == OP. Ends up making my hellstep like a [bleep]ing storm field as far as damage is concerned.

Frenzy stance? Your kidding? LOL, someone got cocky about being in a group...lol.

DT would have been an easy kill anyways, just because you can manipulate their game play easily. Sin & guard would cause a lot of hassles depending on basic PvP skills.

You got really lucky with that Fatality, if they had got their CC's...you probably would have died.

@thesite: Yea, orange and black for the win. It's not very fancy or anything, but it has a good chunk of info, which is better than a fancy layout/design...lol.

Yeah, the entire thing had my mouth gaping in disbelief. Fatality at a perfect time and I don't think the DT realized I'd kill the sin that fast.

As far as the site goes, it's not bad information but some of its really basic right now.

Besides the item database, and the 800 or so quests, then yes, but then again the information on AoC isn't all that interesting. The only interesting thing for anyone who has already gotten 75+, would be guide topics for Dungeon Raids...

HoX > Sin in most cases, that darn AoE in the demon form...most annoying thing in the world. >.>

Yeah but i feel yahtzee's reviews have got progressively worse every wednesday, when i first saw his Fable review i was laughing out loud but now its more proffesional and doenst have the crude humour, referances are now so few there non existant which was one of my favourite parts.I still like it but the escapist making zero punctuation into a big thing has had an adverse effect on the feel.

I see, I'll have to look through the other videos then.
